I had my phone companys old westtell router that they sent when our Town first went wireless back in 05-06 this past nov. I contacted the phoneCompany about having to reset the westell often. They were shockedI still had the old router and said i needed the new one and promply sentThis comtrend they supply and ever since i have this new comtrend whichThey even switced out once the below problem has beenoccurringOn a regular basisPhone company has come twice first time moved phone base awayFrom router seemed to work for awhile. Then it started again 9 weeksLater this time said the phones must be the same gigahertz as the routerAand to plug in an old style phone not a wireless handheld. Nothing they
Well outside of my house is the main plug and that wires into my house next to the bed.Connected to that is the plug thingy(idk know what it is).and connected to that is the caller id( a grey wire) and the modem when the phone rings my internet disconnects my phone is at 5.8Ghz and my router is at 2.4Ghz
I have recently added a wifi router to my home network. The connection is from my cable modem to a wired router to the wifi router. Everything on the network works great except when I turn on my cell phone's wifi connection. That disconnects my entire network from the internet and I have to unplug/replug my wired router to get reconnected. If I leave home with my phone and return, leaving the cell's wifi setting on, it reconnects to the network without disrupting the internet connection.
im having this strange issue where everytime i plug in a voip phone to my 3550 the switch disconnects another voip phone.then to fix the disconnected phone (7940) i need to power off the phone 5-10 minutes then power it on again.
but the strange thing is, once i have to do that to fix the phone and connect the phone back to the switch, the port link is up, but no macs are seen on that port.
I have a Westell VersaLink Model 327W router that is linked to two desktops, one with Windows 7 and one with XP. Our internet speed was recently increased, and ever since that happened the connection cuts out randomly and sometimes when the phone rings. After noticing the link to phone calls, I tested the connection by calling the phone to see if I could replicate the problem. However, the internet did not disconnect when I called the phone myself. On the Windows 7 desktop, the taskbar says no internet access when the connection disconnects. Strangely, Windows 7's default Troubleshoot Problems restores the connection every time. The disconnects are still extremely frustrating because they cause me to lose any online game I am playing at the time. I am not completely sure about the symptoms on the XP computer because it is not mine and I am rarely on it; however, I believe it normally reconnects after a few minutes on its own. We also have laptops that are connected wirelessly to our network. I have noticed that they tend to also lose internet access, although the taskbar does not indicate any problems. I am reluctant to believe that the problem lies in my router or ISP because the disconnects began when our internet was upgraded. I have searched the internet for fixes, but so far I have found nothing.
I have a Linksys Wireless-N Broadband Router Model No. WRT160N. I have had it since 2008; therefore, the warranty is expired and Linksys refused to give me tech support over the phone. Here's the problem:
It is not giving off a wireless signal. It works as a router just fine. I have my landline ethernet cable coming into it, and then a cord going to my desktop and a cord going to my laptop and the internet works fine. However, it give off no wireless signal.
I tried resetting to factory settings and that did not work. I've attached a pic of the router when it's turned on. You can see the middle button is Orange and the wireless icon is not lighted at all.
I have a DSL connection and obviously it coming through the phone line. Is there any kind of software that I can use to make landline calls through my computer? The DSL modem is ZXDSL. I know I can use Skype, vBuzzer and Google Talk etc etc. But I want to make calls through my landline using my computer or laptop.
For some reason, wireless connections from my moms Belkin Play router #F7D4302 v1 disconnect everytime the landline phone is used! There is no phone line connected to my moms computer, modem or router
My TV Ethernet connection to my router, when streaming content from my laptop. When my TV is connected to the router via Ethernet cable and my laptop is connected to the router , O am able to stream media to the TV, but the TV often disconnects itself. I think the router is the problem because when the computer a connected directly (not using the router) It doesn't disconnect. Also another issue when the TV is connected to the router the computer will only connect to the TV if it is connected via an Ethernet cable, It wont through wireless.
I'm currently setup with a modem > router > wifi/cable(makes no matter, same issue). If I use the cable straight from the modem into my PC, there are absolutely no issues. Working perfectly.Alright, so to my issue. If I play any games on my PC/PS3, I will suddenly lose my connection for a second or two. Not long enough for me to disconnect from the game. But rather, what should have occured during that time, will just fly by in a split second. This happens, maybe, 2-4 times per hour. I haven't changed much more than the password in the router since i bought it about 3 months ago.Should add that I have a 100/100 fiber connection from Telia, and I drop like 2-3mbit/s from using the router, compared to going straight from the modem.
i am a gamer and i rely on the internet to do some buisiness as well, a few months ago my router started randomly dropping me from my connection and then 10 seconds later the connection is back up. now i know alot about computers and cant figure out why this is happening. it seems that the problem starts with skype. when i play some games while in skype(we use it as a communication device for the games) i will get dropped from skype and from my game, then skype reconects and i can reconect to the game but 5 minutes later it happens again. i have at&t and am using a 2701HG-B, my donwload speed is a max of 3mbps and usualy is around 2.7mbps. i have contacted at&t multiple times, i have reset my router multiple times but it hasnt fixed the problem. at&t stated that i am demanding too much bandwith from my connection. i feel that this info totally crap. when im on with just 1 of my many devices at 3am and all i am doing is playing a game and talking on skype and it disconnects, there is no way i am demanding too much.
After many weeks of working well, with no problem, the router started to randomly disconnect 2 days ago and since then it happens few times during the day.I haven't changed anything in the setting for more than 1 month so I really don't understand why it happens.Yesterday, my fiancee was using the laptop and me the desktop when the connection dropped only for my PC, because hers was still working.Today it happened already 2 times and I would like to know how can I solve this issue. I must remind everybody that I a beginner when it comes to configuring the wireless router.
The internet connects fine, but every couple of minutes it will disconnect for a couple of seconds. It's not a big deal when browsing, but it's disastrous when downloading big files or playing online games. What I've tried so far:
-Resetting the modem. No change. -Reconnecting the modem/router completely. No change. -Replacing the main splitter. Slight change, but problem came back eventually. --Original problem came with the tech's 2 way 5-1002 mhz spliiter. --I tried replacing it with a 3 way 5-1000 one. The modem on 7db and cable on 7db. It worked fine for a couple of days. --Problem comes back today. Moving the modem to any of the 3 outputs doesn't fix anything. Moving it to 3.5db actually causes a short timeout every minute when I try to ping yahoo (as a test). --I've also tried a 2 way 5-900 mhz splitter. It was the worse one of all.
Other info:The internet went down to the entire block at the start of the year. No one knew this of back then so we made a call to comcast, and they scheduled for a tech. A couple days later, we decide to get a new modem from the comcast center just to make sure it wasn't our modem. Some problems with activation prevents us from knowing if it was. We get back online somehow the next day, which is also the same time the tech came. He decides our numbers are weird and adds in a splitter for the internet and tv (which leads into another splitter for each room), and an amplifier for the tv. In the middle of this, another tech stops by and tells us the entire block was down and he said he fixed it now, he doesn't stay long. The first tech finishes installing everything and leaves. All is fine for a couple of days, until a week later and we start experiencing frequent disconnects. We've tried calling comcast again, but they say the connection is fine on their end and the problem is with our router. When I ping the router and the modem directly, there are no dropped connections. It's only when I try to ping anything on the internet when the problem pops up.
I have recently moved home and my laptop loses connection to my router all the time! This usually happens, roughly every 10-15 minutes. I have contacted my ISP and they have told me there is nothing wrong, but I beg to differ. My xbox 360 is further away from my router and it doesnt lose connection as much
my belkin N router keeps on disconnecting EVERY 44 secs. (exactly, i've tested it). When it disconnects, the blue "globe" on the router becomes amber and starts blinkin but just for a few seconds. The disconnect lasts only like 2 seconds. Here is my IPconfig all

I recently bought a Motorola SurfBoard SB5101U Cable Modem and a MediaLink Wireless-N Router (Model NO.: MWN-WAPR150N). Just yesterday, Charter Internet hooked up the internet for my apartment. It works just fine when I only have the modem connected, but when I add the router, the internet disconnects.I have tried changing the router's IP.Here's the ipconfig /all for only the modem:

I have a 2 computers connected to a Linksys BEFSR41 router which is connected to a Verizon Westell DSL/Cable modem. From time to time the Ethernet link between the modem and the router spontaneously disconnects. I can reconnect the link by going to the setup menu on the router with a browser @ 192.168.1.1 Sometimes I have to do an ipconfig/release and renew to fix the link. Sometimes I have to power cycle the PC and the modem and the router.Currently this disconnect problem has gotten much worse. It occurs about every 15-20 minutes while I'm connected to the net. It also occurs when either computer is booted or turned off (I see the link light on both the modem and the router flash red for a moment).
I have a problem that Ive tried to fix but it seems impossible..I have a router : Airlink 59300 (recently bought for 102 dollars) and the problem occures when I play online games, I get 1-2 sec disconnect and that is enough to kick me out. Ive tried to ping my connection to www.google.com and my ping jmped randomly very high (up to 800 ms) then dropped to normal (25 -30 ms)I think that is the problem. When I directly plug in the cabel from modem I dont have any issues. Here is what I get when logging into router on website:[CODE]
In one setup, we have fibre optic connection given by the ISP upto Distribution box inside the house where the fibre optic cable is connected to HUAWEI-ECHOLFIE HG865 terminal .From the RJ 45 port in that device , the ethernet cable goes to the DLINK 8 port switch. All the 8 ports are connected with ethernet cables to 8 rooms going concealed through the wall.
Our ISP person tested the connection by connecting one patch cable (from the DLINK SWITCH via the wall socket)to the WAN port of LINKSYS WRT300N wireless router and connecting other ethernet cable from the lan port of the router to the laptop ,setup the username ,password, encapsulation pppoe and configured the internet .found working. I tried to configure the wireless in the house by fixing LINKSYS access point in some rooms.
Here the problem started. I cannot fix the LINKSYS router inside the DB in front portion of the house since there is no space in that and cannot keep the linksys router outside also, So I kept the linksys router inside one room and tried by connecting cable from the wall socket to a 5 ports mini switch and from the mini switch I connected one cable to WAN PORT of the linksys router and one cable to linksys's lan port because I want to share the internet in all the rooms.
We have a Belkin N300 router connected to the internet through a cable modem(Comcast). Up until yesterday it worked fine for all the devices connected. But now whenever my brother's laptop connects(wireless) to the network it makes the router lose connection to the internet so all the devices connected lose connection, too obviously. Everything shows connected to the router, but the router releases it's DHCP whenever he connects. As soon as he turns off his wifi or manually chooses to disconnect... the internet fires right back up within a minute or so. We have no idea what is causing this. We did notice that his laptop was trying to connect with IPV6 while everything else was using IPV4
My WRT400N wireless router continuously disconnects and I have to keep restarting it. I have tried to download an update for it, but once i download the zip file and try to open it, it just keeps duplicating the file.
Issue: Working on the internet, my computer (LAN) disconnects, Laptop (WAN) disconnects, but the router does not disconnect. The light that shows connection to net flashes like crazy (showing ADHD *** activity), the network lights just stay stable (showing no activity). After 5-10 minutes the problem sometimes fixes itself, or, more likely, I unplug the router, wait 2 minutes, plug it back in. Sometimes it works right away, sometimes it takes a second unplug. My computer is wired to the router which connects to a modem. The modem is not mine, its installed by my ISP.
Failed attempts to fix:Replace router. Bought brand new Netgear (will put numbers in here later) to replace the Dir-825.Same issues. In fear of malware, spyware, etc (I run a tight ship on my computer, I love it dearly and I'm mildly paranoid), I formatted the SSD, reinstalled Windows 7 64bit. Same issues. My ISP has to authorize every connection, so I've used the router to use my Mac Address and I can connect with the cable directly in the back of the computer, or to the router
I have been having a high ping issue both via a cable and wireless. When i connect via wireless, it is generally 2 ms, sometimes goes up to 4 and 5 and rarely i get packet losses. Via a cable, i get usually 1 ms, and sometimes 2 ms. It generates a problem while online gaming and btw i tried changing channels and it didnt work. I even get same pings when i am 3 meters away from the router compared to less than 1 ms pings.

My problem is whenever I upload anything, my modem disconnects. My USB Dongle is a Telstra Ultimate 3G Sierra Wireless AirCard 312U. The problem is not present whenever I connect the dongle directly into the USB port on my LapTop.

there is a bug with MR3220 Router. I have HUAWEI E398 modem. I bought 2 weeks ago a Linksys EA4500 after searching the best Wi-Fi Router all over the net... I choose this cos all over people writed that it was amazing, fast a nd very good coverage all over the house.
Before I had a Buffalo AirStation Dual Band, wich worked perfectly. But since I have several tv and a central NAS whit all films in MKV, I wanted the BEST product for my system, so I choosed Linksys EA4500!
Well, the result is that (when it works it is greate) but sometimes it disconnects and I have to restart it... And second thing that makes me MAD is that the coverage in my house is WORST!! Before my Wi-Fi was present in all the house, now in some parts doesn't work! The position is the exact same of the Buffalo, so it's not a problem of position... I tryed also a router of 40€ and it has a better coverage! How come? how is it possible that a person pays more than 200$ (in Italy it costs 185€) and the result is so BAD??? I'm totaly freak about Linksys now.
I have recently been having difficulty with my router. We have 2 computers and our xbox hooked up to the router and for the last few days whenever both of the computers are in use we experience frequent disconnects. It does not happen when it is just one computer and the xbox running, but as soon as both computers are in use it happens. The disconnects are very brief but extremely frustrating when I'm trying to play a game. I have the most up to date firmware according to the linksys site
I have a simple question and i am new to wireless networking.. I recently bought a wireless router to share my internet connection with my mobile phone ( Sony Ericsson Neo V).. My PC doesn't has a Wifi adapter so I have connected router to pc via a network cable.. Now I want to send my files to mobile phone and can i do that through my router? or should i buy a wifi adapter to pc and directly connect to phone?
I have a belkin wireless router/modem running our home network. We connect using 3 android devices, a wii and wireless printer with no problems. However, when connecting using either a windows 7 or windows XP laptop the internet connection is lost after a couple of minutes. I can't work out the cause of the problem but resetting the router gives a couple of minutes of browsing before it goes again. I have tried using static IP addresses for the laptops but this hasn't worked, furthermore I have tried a winsch reset.
