View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have installed a new Linksys WRT54GS at home. We have been successful at getting 2 PCs and 1 laptop online but we cannot get the 2nd laptop online. I've tried everything I can through the Linksys EasyLink Advisor but nothing works to give my laptop its wireless connection back again. I don't know what else to do.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that we moved house and had to wait for our new internet to be connected in the meantime I used my iphone to tether but now that we have our internet connection back my laptop won't work with wireless. It says it's connected and excellent strength but when I try to open a page it says Page Cannot be Displayed.I know it's not the router because our PC and PS3 is connecting fine, and I can connect to the internet on my laptop via a ethernet cable. My drivers are updated and when I run a check it says the device is working properly. The IP address is correct and I have the correct SSID and Network key. I don't know what else I can try. I have contacted my internet supplier and the ran through everything they they could think of and nothing worked.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI shut down my laptop over Christmas and when I returned it would no longer connect to the Internet. It will connect to the network but not the Internet. Every other device I have (blu-ray player, work laptop, iPad, etc) goes online without any problem using the same router and network. I am running windows 7 and a linksys router that is a year old. Its a Dell Inspiron 1545. I was connected wirelessly but have a LAN connected now while I work this. Neither will connect to the Internet. I have terrible trouble with routers and am terrible when it comes to hardware.My computer skills for this sort of thing are only average. Windows can't communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server)Security or firewall settings might be blocking the connection.I've looked for ideas in various places online and have tried many things: [code] Next step is to throw it all out the window! I have a small home business and people are waiting for contracts that I can't currently deliver.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI take my ASUS G53SW laptop and play games on steam. My problem is that my wireless connection is so slow and I am limited to single player only games, I get bored after awhile and would rather play some online games. While trying to update a patch for League of Legends I was getting a whopping 5-7 Kbps download rate. If I try playing an FPS such as Counter strike, or left 4 dead I can join the game fine, but then my ping skyrockets into the 500+ range.

It does connect and work well until there is another modem in the neighborhood coming online.The task bar icon shows I am still connected but the connection is gone. I tried troubleshooting the network, reconnecting from laptop giving the passkey, log off and log on but none of these work, except restarting the modem. This has become a pain and has been so since I purchased this 4 months ago.Is there a setting change that can be done?
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday my wireless internet suddenly stopped working. I plugged the ethernet cable directly from the modem to the computer and everything was fine, so I reset the router, reconnected it to the modem, and went to the setup page 192.168.1.1. I reconfigured the router on the setup page, leaving all previous settings the same (except I renamed the network from linksys to our own name and reconfirmed the WPA Personal password). My computer can connect to the wireless network but I can't go online.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have tried everything I can think of but since purchasing my 615-N router from DLink, I haven't been able to get online via wireless internet from another computer in this apartment. The router seems to be working fine - I have a LAN connection through it to this computer I'm on now and the PS3 hooked up to the wireless signal just fine. It is the one desktop computer though. The only thing I can think of is that I am using an old g adapter. I didn't think this would matter because the N router can supposedly communicate with g and b devices.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen my desktop is online via Ethernet, wi-fi stops working. A signal is detected, but is very unstable and often doesn't connect to the Internet at all, on any device. As soon as the desktop is no longer trying to access the Internet, all other wireless connections work without a problem. Base computer is Windows Vista Home Premium with all latest updates installed.Other connections include 2 laptops (one Win7, one PCLinuxOS), 2 Kindle Fire, Wii, iPod Touch, four cell phones, and Sony Media Player. They're never running all at once. But any number of them can run fine-- as long as the desktop isn't online at the time.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing dropping connection and can't play online games because of extreme lag. when pinging certain sites here is the results at the bottom. so very extremely high ping. then after a while like 5 mins, when i hover my mouse cursor at the network icon it says limited access and i don't have any internet connection, even powercycling doesn't work. it stays like that. when using direct connection to the modem only it works fine. but when using the wrt120n router i experience that problem either wired or wireless it stays the same. I have been trying to get a 1262AP registered to wireless lan controller. The core switch has three 2 vlans in it, management which is vlan 41 and AP interaction vlan which is vlan 51.Controller also has both these vlans.
Vlan 41 - 192.168.40.x/23 ( management vlan)
Vlan 61 - 192.168.61.x/24 (AP vlan)
WLC management interface IP is 192.168.40.18
WLC AP interface IP is 192.168.6.241
Now , during the initial steps, the access points are attached to the switchports on vlan41, wherein they get the dhcp ip from the temporary pool created on the controller and get registered.But, these access points in actual environment needs to be on static ip address. When it's ip is changed to a static IP address from the controller , it fails to register to the controller. the switchport is put on vlan6 as access port , after static ip is assigned to the access point.The error i receive is ;
%CAPWAP-3-EVENTLOG: Could not resolve gateway. Not sending discovery request to 0.0.0.0, type 1
the core switch we are using in this new setup is a 2960 with a lanbase image. I realised the switch is not routing enabled. it doesn't accept the command "ip routing". Will this be creating a problem for the access points? From the switch , the controller management and AP vlan IP address can be pinged. similarly, from the controller, AP and management vlan interface ip address of the switch can be pinged.
