Laptop Says It's Connected But Can't Get Online

My problem is that we moved house and had to wait for our new internet to be connected in the meantime I used my iphone to tether but now that we have our internet connection back my laptop won't work with wireless. It says it's connected and excellent strength but when I try to open a page it says Page Cannot be Displayed.I know it's not the router because our PC and PS3 is connecting fine, and I can connect to the internet on my laptop via a ethernet cable. My drivers are updated and when I run a check it says the device is working properly. The IP address is correct and I have the correct SSID and Network key. I don't know what else I can try. I have contacted my internet supplier and the ran through everything they they could think of and nothing worked.

about 3 or 4 days ago i tried to set up a minecraft server. I opened up my routers page using the ip adress to conifgure the settings, changed the settings and logged out. After that i couldnt connect to any web pages yet the internet was still connected. I have tried looking for a way to fix this for days. I have tried ipconfigs renewing and flushing my dns nothings working. In trouble shooter it says that its a problem with the dns server. Im running windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

I recently got a toshiba satellite laptop running win xp.. at first when i connected it had internet..but after adding avg antivirus it began showing limited or no connectivity. ran antivirus ... cleaned up system..changed the ip addresses and now it says connected.. but i cannot go to google or any other online page. it says there is no response from default gateway or dns server... not sure what else to do . I tried rolling back system to before i did anything and still the same.

I got a new isp today and it worked with a new modem connected with a wire .. When I connected the router it wouldn't find the network so i connected the modem again with just the wire and it still won't go online.

I shut down my laptop over Christmas and when I returned it would no longer connect to the Internet. It will connect to the network but not the Internet. Every other device I have (blu-ray player, work laptop, iPad, etc) goes online without any problem using the same router and network. I am running windows 7 and a linksys router that is a year old. Its a Dell Inspiron 1545. I was connected wirelessly but have a LAN connected now while I work this. Neither will connect to the Internet. I have terrible trouble with routers and am terrible when it comes to hardware.My computer skills for this sort of thing are only average. Windows can't communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server)Security or firewall settings might be blocking the connection.I've looked for ideas in various places online and have tried many things: [code] Next step is to throw it all out the window! I take my ASUS G53SW laptop and play games on steam. My problem is that my wireless connection is so slow and I am limited to single player only games, I get bored after awhile and would rather play some online games. While trying to update a patch for League of Legends I was getting a whopping 5-7 Kbps download rate. If I try playing an FPS such as Counter strike, or left 4 dead I can join the game fine, but then my ping skyrockets into the 500+ range.

I just switched ISPs and received a new modem, unfortunately I can't seem to connect my laptop online with this. Everything else connects fine, but something is up with my computer, it connects fine wirelessly to the modem, it just doesn't have a proper internet connection.I'm running windows 7, the modem is an Arris TG862.

We have installed a new Linksys WRT54GS at home. We have been successful at getting 2 PCs and 1 laptop online but we cannot get the 2nd laptop online. I've tried everything I can through the Linksys EasyLink Advisor but nothing works to give my laptop its wireless connection back again. I don't know what else to do.

Ok so I have NEVER had this problem with setting up new laptops, I know how to build a computer and basically im very self educated in this area. The problem is that I bought this Brand New HP Pavilion m6-4510dx Laptop from best buy Yesterday! (note I have about 4 other computers in my house) and when I set up this laptop normally with reccomended updates and connected to wireless with Excellent signal, I get to desktop and the first thing I do is go to check for updates, and I get san error, and I could not connect to internet browser. So I hook it up to an ethernet cable and it works PERFECTLY, so i install updates and see if it might work, no. My other computers work perfectly with wireless and this one doesnt....I also tried restoring from factory default, that didnt work! and so im trying it again and it now gives and error saying that it can not boot the restore to factory default program

I have a printer (with wireless capability) wired to desktop (Windows XP) and a wireless laptop (Windows 7).My question is, can the printer be connected wirelessly to the laptop as well as wired to the desktop, or does everything have to be wireless? If I want to share files between the two computers, do they both have to be the same operating system? (one is Windows XP and the other is Windows 7)

I am having a problem with my computer and the internet. I can connect fine and pull up pages but after a while the pages will stop loading. Sometimes it is within a few minutes of using the internet or sometimes it will go a few hours. When I check my connection it shows that I am connected. I have tried troubleshooting, updating IE, trying firefox. Nothing works.

My dell computer tells me i am connected to the internet, but every time i try and use my web browser, it gives me a troubleshoot page and informs me that I am NOT connected to the internet. I have tried going through the process of the "troubleshoot" but it never does anything.

whenever I try and access the internet from my laptop it keeps on loading...seriously like forever it never stops... I have tried a lot of things which actually worked but only for a limited amount of time. Lately I had been lucky to get my hands on some cmd commands which were abletil I restarted the laptop, I then performed the following commands every time I started the laptop: netsh winsock reset catalog, netsh int ipv(ip, ipv4 and ipv6) reset reset.log.I also tried ipconfig/flushdns which worked for like 5 seconds, they worked only for 1 week. I have 1 computer and 2 laptops, the computer can connect and browse my sisters laptop too but my one not. I was setting up both my and my sisters wifi, it took ages to get done once it worked for me once for my sister and then it stopped working for me and i got it running on my sister.[CODE]

Everything worked fine until I went to move my desk to a different area and had to unplug everything. Upon plugging everything back up - my desktop internet works fine, but the laptop says "Connected but no internet access". I've tried working on it for 2 hours unplugging and replugging cords back up and I can't get any internet access on my laptop. I am using a cable modem. Currently I have the blue ethernet cord running from the modem, directly into my computer. I also have a grey cord that apparently was plugged into the router somehow but I don't remember how exactly I had this one plugged up. The cable modem only has one jack, for "ethernet". The router is a Linksys WRT54G and has 4 numbered (1-4) jacks in the back and then one jack for "internet". The laptop is running Windows 7, and the desktop (which the internet runs fine on right now) is running Vista.

My laptop was recently reset to factory settings and had the hard drive wiped, since I got it back, I can't remain connected to the internet. We have a second laptop running off the wireless that hasn't had any issue. I try to disconnect from the network and reconnect and sometimes after 2-5 attempts, I'll browse the internet for 5-45 min and then it will say it can't identify the network or that the computer is only connected locally.

I've recently taken on this ageing hp laptop with windows Xp installed. After resetting to factory settings I moved on to getting it on the internet but with no luck. The Connection to the router is there and keeps telling me I have an excellent connection but every time I open up the internet browser it tells me the page cannot be read.

My father recently bought a laptop with windows7, and while it is connected to the internet through the router, there is a lag spike every 20 or so seconds, which also shows up when pinging the router as a jump in ping. This happens wired and wireless and also affects other connections on the network (my desktop computers also get a spike in ping). I have isolated the problem to be with the laptop, because as soon as the laptop is disconnected from router completely there is no more spike in ping

The built-in WIFI says it's connected to the internet and when I try to repair it just says "problem could not be found." All the other computers in the house work (I'm currently on one of them). Out of the blue my wireless connection stopped working, my browser cannot connect, I don't know what to do. I have a Samsung laptop that's running on Windows 7. I thought it was the browser so I installed the Internet Explorer 9 and while doing so it was able to download the updates but when I open up the browser it still doesn't work.
I'm thinking that it might be a network problem but I've ran out of ideas. I have a netgear router that's connecting a desktop computer, two VOIP devices, my sisters Mac works but we have two laptop that aren't working. I've also tried connecting it directly to an ethernet cable from the router but it's still not able to open the browser.

I just bought a new laptop and have had issues with it from day one regarding the internet. It connects me to the internet, but then after a few minutes on the task bar where it tells you what you are currently connected to a yellow (!) shows up. It tells me that I am connected to my network, but it says that I do not have any or sometimes even limited internet access. I have other computers in the house (3 laptops, sometimes 4, and 2 desktops) that do not have any issues connecting or staying connected to the internet. The laptop with the issue has Norton installed on it and it is with Windows 7. My ISP is AT&T, DSL. My router is a LinkSys router.
