I need to have some (maybe four) virtual network interfaces, one face of them connected to my laptop and another face bridged to one of my physical network interfaces.How can i do that?Ive tried VirtNet and Microsoft Loopback Adapter but no success.
View 1 RepliesI would like to know something I have experienced quite often these last couple of weeks at my own offices as well as at some of my clients, on machines all running XP Professional, most with SP3 installed.
Sometimes it happens that only one pc at a time would have no physical connectivity to any outbound services like the internet, or any connection to another pc or the server running SBS 2003 for that matter, although the Network Status in the bottom right hand corner says it is connected, even at 100Mbs.
When opening Network Connections and I view the status of the LAN connection, it shows that packets are being sent and received, but I am not even able to ping another IP on the network, timing out every time.
The only solution to the problem seems to be "repairing" the network connection, and then all works fine again.
I would like to know what might be causing this in the first place and also what exactly a "network connection repair" is actually repairing? The reason I am asking is that I would like to find out if it might be a sign of any hardware starting to malfunction or anything in that regard, so that one could be in the clear about what to possible expect in the future.
I've been using a WRT120N on a local area connection.The WRT120N acts as a gateway and also to connect to the PPOE connection, via a bridged adsl modem.I've noticed that the LAN port 1 was flashing although the network cable was disconnected from the physical port. I've restarted a few times but to no avail as well. Ever since that, I've noticed that connection through cable are unstable and hard.Now, I'm not able to reset or upgrade the router's firmware.Is there any other way to be done so that I can get this router working as normal again.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to get the WUSB600N v 1 to enable in Win 7 Pro 64 bit for quiet awhile. Been reading all the posts here and elsewhere. Have tried all the drivers I could down load and still no luck. The drivers would install but the adapater would not enable. Read about some of the problems with Kaspersky but I had Zone Alarm installed and it did not have the same problem. So tonight I decided to completely remove Zone Alarm from the system. Once I removed ZA and rebooted the adapter functioned correctly. I am able to enable and connect using the WUSB600N v 1. Reinstalled ZA and 600N is still working correctly. It just would not install correctly with ZA on the system. I had previously tried disabling ZA but it took a complete removal to get it to work, I even tried it in safe mode but no luck. I don't have a clue as to what ZA was doing to block the adapter from working but it did. So if you have any kind of anti-virus or firewall you might try removing it and see it the adapter will work. I am currently using the latest drivers from the Ralink site but they would not work either until I removed ZA.Message Edited by curlysir on 02-22-2010 06:30 PM
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently installed this adapter, and it's connected to a wireless-N router right now (WRT102N), the problem I'm having is it's not sending out internet connection once I boot up the next day. It'll work once I click reconnect to connect to the network again, but still, I don't think it should be doing that.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't connect on my 2500 on my xp system. I just wiped the drive and did a fresh install on everything due to a virus. I updated xp/ and drivers and installed the ae2500 drivers. When I try to log on it starts to and shows connected however, it tells me "windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network" I noticed that this system has the same ae2500 with windows vista and uses wpa2-personal, aes. The xp system only has options for wpa-personal, aes. Is this the problem or is it something else?

They both access the router via wifi and wired, but neither appear in the device list any longer. I've rebooted the router twice, as well as both computers, disabled/re-enabled their wifi connections, but no effect.Every other non-Windows 8 device still appears normally under the device list.

We previously had a standard router, but upgraded since it seemed to be moving too slow. This problem with the adapter existed then also and we thought maybe it was too many computers slowing down the router.The adapter works great until I try to open certain websites. Then it loses its mind. I get a popup that says "Dial Up Connection" and wants me to choose to connect or work offline. When I click connect, I get a second window that says "Connecting through WAN Miniport", but it never actually connects to the page. Then lastly, a third popup says it has an error connecting and wants to redial and starts a countdown. But again, it never connects to the page.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the AE1000 adaptor on my wife's computer and direct wired on mine is the E2000.The e2000 is set to 2.4mhz and when connected to the wireless network, my wifes ae1000 shows it is connected at 144mbps.When I change the e2000 to 5.0 mhz and then my wife connects to the internet, she shows the ae1000 at 16-53 mbps. When I switch back to 2.4 she shows 144. I thought that when the e2000 is connected at 5.0 she should have a "faster connection".

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a WMP110v2 card installed in my desktop. It can connect to my wireless network, but it cannot access the internet. Other computers on the network can connect to the internet (wired and wireless), so I know it's not a problem with my modem/router. I have tried reinstalling the device several times, but nothing seems to work. It receives a valid IP address, but when I try to ping my router, all packets are lost.I'm completely lost on what to do next.

My problem is that we moved house and had to wait for our new internet to be connected in the meantime I used my iphone to tether but now that we have our internet connection back my laptop won't work with wireless. It says it's connected and excellent strength but when I try to open a page it says Page Cannot be Displayed.I know it's not the router because our PC and PS3 is connecting fine, and I can connect to the internet on my laptop via a ethernet cable. My drivers are updated and when I run a check it says the device is working properly. The IP address is correct and I have the correct SSID and Network key. I don't know what else I can try. I have contacted my internet supplier and the ran through everything they they could think of and nothing worked.

Upon plugging everything back up - my desktop internet works fine, but the laptop says "Connected but no internet access". I've tried working on it for 2 hours unplugging and replugging cords back up and I can't get any internet access on my laptop. I am using a cable modem. Currently I have the blue ethernet cord running from the modem, directly into my computer. I also have a grey cord that apparently was plugged into the router somehow but I don't remember how exactly I had this one plugged up. The cable modem only has one jack, for "ethernet". The router is a Linksys WRT54G and has 4 numbered (1-4) jacks in the back and then one jack for "internet". The laptop is running Windows 7, and the desktop (which the internet runs fine on right now) is running Vista.

We have a second laptop running off the wireless that hasn't had any issue. I try to disconnect from the network and reconnect and sometimes after 2-5 attempts, I'll browse the internet for 5-45 min and then it will say it can't identify the network or that the computer is only connected locally.

I just bought a new laptop and have had issues with it from day one regarding the internet. It connects me to the internet, but then after a few minutes on the task bar where it tells you what you are currently connected to a yellow (!) shows up. It tells me that I am connected to my network, but it says that I do not have any or sometimes even limited internet access. I have other computers in the house (3 laptops, sometimes 4, and 2 desktops) that do not have any issues connecting or staying connected to the internet. The laptop with the issue has Norton installed on it and it is with Windows 7. My ISP is AT&T, DSL. My router is a LinkSys router.

When I turn it on it will connect to the wireless network and stay connected for five minutes tops before disconnecting. Sometimes the wireless network is still being detected, sometimes not, but when I click on it to reconnect it rarely does (and when it does, it will sure enough disconnect again in no time).All other devices in the house stay connected and work fine; it is only my laptop that has issues. I took my laptop to another house and it has the exact same issues so it's definitely the laptop itself and not the routers.I live in Pakistan and my broadband provider for this household is Wi-Tribe. I don't know the type of broadband it is. I have no Anti-Virus apart from Microsoft Security Essentials.
