My other laptop and xboxes are online just fine, so I know then it's an issue with my one laptop. But I don't know how to fix it. No networks are found at all and internet only works when it's wired. I have a HP laptop running windows 7.How do I get my network to show up so I can have wirless internet again? Someone thought maybe new drivers but no clue what I really need to download. I only know basics of computer stuff.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP laptop that is running on Windows 7. Up until a few weeks ago the internet was working fine, but all of a sudden it stopped. The built-in WIFI says it's connected to the internet and when I try to repair it just says "problem could not be found." All the other computers in the house work (I'm currently on one of them). Also, when I bring it to my friends house, my laptop is still the only one that doesn't work?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIt's Windows 7 laptop that connects to my home wireless network, but won't load any internet pages and just times out. Other old laptops connect to this network (and load pages) just fine. If I take my new laptop to another wireless network - ie McDonalds - it connects and loads pages just fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop with a wireless connection to a netgear router. My Internet work perfectly, however after a certaiN amount of time I can't access the Internet although it still stats that I am connected. It reads " connected with limited access". I then have to restart my laptop to gain Internet access again. I have other computers and laptops and tablets that don't share this problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a dell inspiron laptop that is about 5 years old. It runs Windows XP and works great. Lately though it will not stay connected to my network (Linksys Router). It will connect and disconnect several times per hour and this evening it connected/disconnected and would not connect again.
View 14 Replies View RelatedOut of the blue my wireless connection stopped working, my browser cannot connect, I don't know what to do. I have a Samsung laptop that's running on Windows 7. I thought it was the browser so I installed the Internet Explorer 9 and while doing so it was able to download the updates but when I open up the browser it still doesn't work.
I'm thinking that it might be a network problem but I've ran out of ideas. I have a netgear router that's connecting a desktop computer, two VOIP devices, my sisters Mac works but we have two laptop that aren't working. I've also tried connecting it directly to an ethernet cable from the router but it's still not able to open the browser.
It's been working absolutely fine for me for nearly two years and all of a sudden it doesn't want to connect anymore. When I turn it on it will connect to the wireless network and stay connected for five minutes tops before disconnecting. Sometimes the wireless network is still being detected, sometimes not, but when I click on it to reconnect it rarely does (and when it does, it will sure enough disconnect again in no time). All other devices in the house stay connected and work fine; it is only my laptop that has issues. I took my laptop to another house and it has the exact same issues so it's definitely the laptop itself and not the routers.I live in Pakistan and my broadband provider for this household is Wi-Tribe. I don't know the type of broadband it is. I have no Anti-Virus apart from Microsoft Security Essentials.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble getting my laptop to stay connected to my wireless internet. This problem only occurs with my laptop. Other laptops in the house are able to connect no problem. It stays connected for about 5 minutes at a time, then loses connection. I have to disconnect and then reconnect all the time just to get online. I've had the router about 2 years with no problems. This just started happening only to my laptop yesterday.

The laptop finds the router and gets "connected" but when I try to open a web page, it says there's an issue with my internet connection, and also something about not finding the DNS...whatever that means...as you can see..

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy wife just bought a new Dell Intel Centrino. I can't seem to get it to connect properly to the wireless router/modem. It is a Netgear cg814wg v2. The wireless status shows that the computer is connected to the internet. But yet the only thing I can seem to do is searches on Google. Any other site that I try to visit does not open. If I plug the laptop into the modem directly with a Ethernet cable it works flawlessly. So it seems that the laptop can communicate with other computers on the network, but I just don't have any internet. Or very limited internet. And I've tried this in both IE and Google Chrome.
I'm not a computer/wireless network genius, but I've spent hours trying to troubleshoot this issue with no success. I've reset the modem. Unplugged the modem. Typed config/all and all the other ones I found suggested online in the command prompt. Checked the settings on the modem itself and on the laptop. I Still can't seem to get it to work. I have 3 other computers in my house that all work just fine wireless. They are all older computers with XP on them. I also found out that the wireless adapter in the laptop is a N 1030 adapter. But I don't know if that is compatible with my modem or not.
Well I became convinced that the problem was with the Netgear itself and I needed a newer model. I contacted Comcast whom supplies the modem for me and told them my situation. She basically told me that I needed to contact Dell Technical Support to see if the laptop was set up or equipped with what it needed to be used with my Netgear setup. Well, she said something that sounded a lot better than that.
Using Windows XP. Wireless was working fine at my home wireless but "internet not working" in friend's wireless network. Wireless Connection shows connected and Packets Sent/Received is increasing but not able to connect to internet or ping.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just switched to Comcast cable internet with newly purchased cable modem and D-Link Dir 601 router. After setting up the modem and router, I can connect to router via wireless with three PCs that all running Window7 OS and go on line. The problems that I have are with PCs (two of them) that run Windows XP. One of them is the PC that I use to set up the cable modem and router with Ethernet. I can not use wireless connection to go online with it. The wireless is connected but it gives me a message "no server found ..." in browser window. The 2nd PC running WinXp also says wireless is connected, but I can not go online. The followings are the results of running ipconfig /all for 2nd PC[CODE]
View 1 Replies View Relatedwe recently upgraded our home router and have been having trouble ever since. Our old router was a Netgear one, so we bought a newer netgear model. Since installing the new one we can not get my daughters laptop, an iPad and ipods to work on the wifi. My computer is wired into the router and works fine, it is just the wireless. All of these things worked perfectly using our old netgear wirelss modem and all of them can find the wireless network on their list of available networks, they all say that they are connected with a good signal, but when they try to browse the internet or check emails, it comes up saying not connected to the internet. We even bought a range extender because we thought the signal might not be strong enough between the new router and my daughters bedroom which are at opposite ends of the house and on different floors, but it made no difference and wasn't a problem before.
Anyway, the router we bought is a Netgear N150 wireless modem router DGN1000, the cables are plugged in to ports 1 and 4 ( there is only 1,2,3 and 4 to choose from). The extender is a Netgear universal range extender WN2000RPT
I have tried turning it all off and back on again, have uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but still nothing. Daughters laptop uses Vista and she has McAfee security. Exactly as it has always been and has worked fine using our old wireless router, just not this new one.
I'm having trouble getting my laptop to stay connected to my wireless internet. This problem only occurs with my laptop (other laptops in the house are able to connect no problem) and with this particular wireless box (my laptop has no problems connecting and staying connected to other wireless networks, wi-fi, etc.).
I am able to connect to the wireless but it lasts only for a few minutes before connection is lost, so I basically have to connect to the internet through a ether cable (?) plugged into the wireless box.
I can't work out where the problem could be as the wireless works for other computers, and my computer works with other wireless networks!
I don't know if it matters but I am using a Toshiba satellite running on Windows 7.
My Sony VAIO VPCEH36FX laptop has trouble staying connected to wireless for long. I've only had it for about a week now and it's been happening since Day 1. It alternates between trying to connect, to being connected but with limited access, to not being connected at all. However, if I unplug the router and plug it back in, the laptop will work fine anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple hours. But after that it goes back to trying to connect/limited access. I doubt it's a problem with the router, as all other devices in the house work fine with it. It's a Linksys Cisco router. It doesn't have a password or anything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a DIR-655 Rev B1, FW 2.01 (I will probably upgrade the FW tonight to the latest.)
I have at least 20 items that connect wirelessly to this router (2 PCs, 2 Laptops, 2 Tivo Box, 3 Game Consoles, 3 Cell Phones, 2 Tablets, 2 TVs, Printer, AP Gateway, and some other projects) It's been a solid connection to everything for the past couple of years.
I bought a new Dell Inspiron 15r SE laptop (uses the Intel Centrion Wireless-N 2230 Wifi Solution.) After anywhere from 2 - 10 mins of browsing/watching a video/downloading files the access out to the internet simply stops.
At this point I'm still connected wirelessly to the router, and if I go to the router address I still have access and can login and see the router settings. I check and there's plenty of time left on the lease (days.) Still not getting internet access. Eventually my Laptop will disconnect and reconnect (or I do it manually.) I've performed hard resets of the router, I've had my laptop Forget the network and then reconnect, etc. Nothing has resolved it.
I thought it may be my laptop, but I've taken it to Starbuck, Work, Neighbors WiFi, etc and I don't have any problems staying connected on their networks.
I've had Dell on the line, we connected hardwired, and there solution was to force forget and reconnect to the router, which worked for the 10min he was on the line with me, but then failed soon after, and back in the same connectivity hell
I have a HTC wildfire S phone and a Motorola Xoom tablet which connects to my wireless network and both work fine. The only problem is that my Windows 7 p.c. can't "see" them. This means that I have to connect them via a USB lead in order to transfer files. When I try the NETWORKADD WIRELESS DEVICE option the computer does a search but doesn't find anything.

When the laptop has gone into standby and comes back out it is not connected to the internet or the 'secured side' of teh router. Instead, it asks for the 'guest side' password. When I try running Wireless Manager it goes through the entire process of 're-mating' adapter and router. That can't be right. How do I fix this so the system comes out of standby in the 'secured side' of the router?

My Toshiba laptop can't get connected to the wireless ADSL modem router TD-W8960N. I have 4 different laptops and one desktop, all connected to the router very well, only the Toshiba cannot get on Internet. I can connect to the wireless network on the laptop, but it shows limited access.

Several other computers work on the same wireless network. I ran the troubleshooting sequence at "control panel-> troubleshooting -> network and internet " but it didn't find anything.
