I had a tech from Comcast come out but couldn't figure it out. The tech said it could be my router but tried a different one and still nothing. The network, for me, is listed as "Unidentified" and the connection switches between Local Only and Limited Connectivity. It also says I am connected to my network with excellent strength. If I plug the router directly into the laptop it still doesnt work.
I keep getting this pop up message that says "local area network limited or no connectivity". It appears every 20-30 seconds and drops my internet connection. When I click on the message and opens up the connection box, it states it's functioning properly.
I recently took my Dell Inspiron1545 out of sleep mode and my wireless internet connection no longer works.i have tried power cycling the 2-wire modem and the Cisco Valet router and resetting as well. I also have another laptop and xbox that use this network and are having NO issues in connecting and working perfectly fine.
The only device not working is the Dell laptop. I've tried removing the network profile, uninstalling the wifi driver and reinstalling after powercycling the computer and still nothing but limited connectivity only The WLAN utility has stated that the "Gateway IP Ping" has failed Now the laptop will connect to internet via LAN cable however will not to WiFi
I have attached the IPconfig spec sheet and hopefully somewhat can steer me in the right direction and get me back up an running.
I am having a problem trying to connect my wireless usb lan adapter to the internet. i checked my networks and i noticed that it said that i had Limited Connectivity (sometimes when i fool around with it, it switches to Local Only). i also have a wireless router (EH-100) on a separate network. that router's network, on the other hand, has no problems and it says that the network is Local and Internet. i really want to use my wireless usb lan adapter to connect my DSi to the internet. my ds recognizes the signal but because the adapter is on a Limited Connectivity network, it cant connect to the internet. I have an Acer Aspire 5315 running windows vista home basic, version 6002.For some time i have not been able to join wireless networks, but used a long ethernet cable to my room in shared house. yesterday we got a new router and have had to use it wirelessly. it is a talk talk D-Link DSL 2780, and al other housemates are on wirelessly. mine links up (sometimes) but says local only or limited connectivity - both of which mean i cannot connect to the net wirelessly.

i have factory reset my Toshiba laptop un clicked ipv6 but a setting in vista only gives me local or limited connectivity and im unable to access the internet and my other Toshiba laptop allows me full access along with my phone allows full access to the wireless network therefore tells me the router is not the cause?
The wireless Internet at home is not working on my laptop anymore. It's working fine on my mobile as well as with other wireless networks at school for example. No matter what browser I use I usually dont get to any website. Most of the time it says access: local only, or local and internet, or limited connectivity. If I'm lucky at the right time I can open a website but then it's gone again.
I've just recently bought a second hand Acire laptop is v.good condition, it does everything fine apart from connect via wireless.I have another laptop which can connect on it's wireless and the Acer laptop can get a connection if you use a network cable directly to the router.I have a Sky phone & Broadband package.

I am sharing a network with someone upstairs. They have a wired connection since they are close to the router - I'm using wireless.Routinely get 'No Network Access' or 'Limited Access' or 'No Internet' in the Wireless Network Connections box on my laptop and desktop. The person from who I am renting said it was a range issue. I purchased a range extender that plugs into the wall. This problem still persists, even for my laptop that I can take closer to the source. If I release the IP and renew it I can get a connection back but it usually craps out unexpectedly. This makes me think it's not a range issue, especially with the extender. When I look at an IP config report I notice "DHCP Enabled: No" and "Autoconfig. Enabled: Yes". I am not sure if I am sticking my nose in the right area with this last bit of information.
I usually bring my laptop to classes to do homework during my free period and it connects through ethernet no problem. Today, randomly it says theres limited connectoin (no internet connection), but there's numerous other people here with laptops who are connected through the ethernet or wireless network, and their having no problems. I've already tried shutting my computer down and that didn't work, and since this is a school, the internet connection has to be steady, etc. What can I do to fix this? Some details about the laptop[CODE]
I am trying to share my internet conncetion with another computer. I am using a d-link switch. but I keep getting a limited or no connectivity message.
I recently switched my laptop over from XP to Vista Home Basic and since then I have not been able to connect to the wireless network at my parents' home. The strange thing is that I've had no problem connecting to other wireless networks (at my own home, at work, etc). n their network, I get a message that says "taking longer than usual to connect to network". Then, it eventually connects but leaves me with "limited connectivity"....and I can't access the internet.I had no problem connecting to their network on that laptop when I had XP and no other computers are having this problem with their network.
i have a mobile card that is shared with my ps3 via ethernet cord so i can go online but one day it stopped working and when i plug in my ethernet cord, in network and sharing center another connection thing pops up and its an unidentified network (which is the ps3) but next to the access, it says limited connectivity and when i go in to status it says ipv4: limited. I used to be able to go online on the ps3 but now ever since it said limited connectivity it has stopped me from going online on my ps3,also when i go into internet connection settings on my ps3,i look back on network and sharing and the ps3 connection disapears, im not very smart with computers and stuff so could you dumb it down for me and provide steps on how to get it back to normal?
I've just got a new laptop and I have been unable to connect it to our wireless home netowrk.I've tried disabling my firewall, resetting our router, etc. but to no avail.this is the info i got when i did a command prompt (but i have no idea what it means=p)[CODE]
I've suddenly been unable to connect to my wireless network and this is the sequence of events leading to the problem. (Currently using a friend's computer). My chrome browser got hijacked by the search conduit virus. So, I cleaned it with AdW cleaner. My internet connection was ok then. After that, I ran ccleaner and cleared the registry. Now, I find that I have trouble even connecting to my wireless - it says limited connectivity or no connectivity. The other comp's in my house can connect to the internet fine. I've checked and resetted my network adapter. It is working, but still can't connect. I restored all my registry but still it doesn't solve the problem.
My father has just bought a new router, because the other one broke. But now the internet on my computer does not work.I connect to the wireless network. After some time it says limited access, but when i then click on the network icon on the bottom right corner and wait some seconds, i get full access again.
I been struggling to repair my internet connection for more than a month now and i haven't found an answer yet. what happens is that every time i re-start my computer or some some time it just disappeared, my net connection. In order to get my connection back there are a lot of different procedures and mix up that i'll have to go through until one of them hit something and return the connection back up. Below are the action so far i have taken:
1. Re-start my computer.
2. Re-start my router
3. Intentionally plug out and plug in the hard wire connection.
4. Change the adapter settings by disabling and enabling it.
5. Do the re-installment of the network through device manager and so on...
i even have tried re-installing my windows 7 but still the problem persist.i have un-install my built in anti-virus esset thinking it may have some how contributed in the disturbance.
Specs: Windows 7 32bit intel core i7 and below is my recent ipconfig
I have a home network that works perfectly fine on all my wireless devices except one of my laptops. I'm getting a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it in my connections map from "this computer" to the name of my wireless network. I am running windows 7 and I have no idea what is wrong. It used to work fine and just stopped all of a sudden. I'm not sure if my wife or I messed something up.
I have been using an Unidentified network for free internet connection where I live for sometime. I do not have access to the router or anything. But suddenly internet has stopped working and it states Limited Connectivity.I have tried few things like rebooting, disabling and and then again enabling the status of the connection, etc without any luck.
i am pretty good with computers but this problems got me stumped, my old desktop dell deminsions 4400 will not connect to my home network. So I first reinstalled the driver and plugged the wire in and like magic i had internet. so i took it up stairs, no internet connection. so i whipped out my handy dandy laptop and plug the wire into the cat5 port and i had internet. so this is telling me the wires in my walls are working, my router and modem are working, and my pc is doing something crazy when it changes elevation. I'm about to take it downstairs to see if itll work again
I want to setup a DC++ HUB for sharing data within the university local network. We have addresses of the form 172.31.*.*. These addressed are accessible within the university bu non routable outside on the internet. My plan is to setup a local HUB for DC++ for sharing data within the university intranet. So even if internet is unavailable data can be exchanged through LAN. This HUB must not be accessable outsied the university network.how should I do this all..implementing network sharing other than DC++. My basic idea is that everybody can share their data and the data is searchable from one common interface( Web interface is better option, if possible). And data featching should prefferably be from many hosts, using multiple connections so that speed can be improved..
I have a home network running all Mac computers (though can run Windows VM if necessary) and a pair of USB printers. The wireless router and cable modem are in one room, but the printers are in another. I'd like to find the most practical way to add the printers to the local wireless network without sharing them from a computer. I've tried that for a while, but don't want to leave a laptop connected 24/7 just to enable wireless printing (rather defeats the purpose of a portable computer). I don't have any wired network lines in the home, and am not excited by the idea of running any cables.
i'm connected to the internet through a shared internet connection through a switch, and also have 3 computers connected to the same switch, what i want to setup a local network between the 3 computers but separated from the internet network?
I am trying to figure out how to give computers that connect to my LAN limited access. I have heard that some viruses, though rare, may travel through the network and infect all computers on the network. I want to prevent this. Is there any way to give computers connected to my network strict access to only the internet to prevent viruses or any other harmful attacks?
just moved into a new house and cannot connect to the wireless network. My housemate have no problem connecting to the internet via the wireless network. Her notebook is running on Win XP; mine is Vista. I tried manually setting the IP address but it still didn't work.
My windows 7 desktop computer is giving me a "Limited Access" notice when i try to connect to my network. My laptop on the other hand can connect to it easily. I've tried several solutions that I found online, but nothing has worked yet. When I run command prompt ipconfig I get

I'm running windows7 and I have problem with my network. When I connect to the router it can detect the router but it cannot identified the network and get limited connectivity. I have tried using wireless and LAN connection and it result the same problem.
From one day to another my internet stopped working, instead of connecting automatically it shows limited access. I tried typing in cmd and IPCONFIG/ALL but that doesnt work either. using non-technical language, I am really bad with computers.
