Linksys Access Point :: WAP 4400N Unable To Access AP?
Jan 14, 2012
I am not able to access my wireless access point anymore. I tried to access the web configuration in my browser as I have in the past 192.168.1.245, but I have no luck there. I tried to reset it by holding the reset button for 10-30 seconds, and I have no luck with that. What I have noticed on the AP is that the ethernet light keeps going out. The only light that is lit on my AP is the power and sometimes the ethernet light. My AP is connected to my router which I am able to gain access to the internet from any devices connected to the router except the AP. I have a router (E2000), a WAP4400N, and switch. I want to keep my wireless access separate from my business network. I cannot get my WAP4400N to work anymore.

I just bought an LG Bluray DVD player (BD390) which is unable to find the access point in my home network. My router is a WRT54G, ver. 2.2, running firmware: Ver.4.21.1. My home network uses high speed cable with two computers on the wireless network, all working with no problems. The router is on the second floor but the two computers and the new BD390 are on the first floor - about 35 feet away. I have the wirelss security set to none and use only the specific computer MAC addresses to allow connection to this network.
I found directions in the forum for a setup using the LG BD390 but with a different Linksys router. I changed the security to WPA (AES); the Beacon interval from 100 to 75; the Fragmentation Threshold from 2346 to 2304; and the RTS Threshold from 2347 to 2307. The DVD wireless connection still failed to find my network. There is a "Push button" connection feature on the BD390 setup which I tried, but the only "button" on the router I could find was in the basic wireless setting, a green icon for the wireless SSID setup. No connection was made there either.
The recommendation connection from the LG manual is for a network cable, but that would be over 50 feet and a real pain to connect, so I would prefer WiFi.

I've got a AP WAP54G. I've managed to get into the configuration page and rename my router and set a WPA2-Personl password.
The issue I'm facing is that when me and my roomate try to connect to the router at the same time, it shows the laptop that connects second as one that has 'limited connectivity' and hence cannot use the internet. The 1st laptop however works fine!
The settings for the router have all been left to default.
I'm not sure, but does this problem have anything to do with the fact that the router in configured with a static IP. If so, then there is another issure which is that whenever I try to change it from static to automatic/dynamic IP, the page fails and the router doesn't even get connected to the configuraion page(192.168.1.245) after that. The only way to get that page again is the reset the router.
Also I'm not able to directly get into the config page when I connect my router to my laptop via lan. I need to change the LAN IP to 192.168.1.x where x is >1.

How do I connect and configure my WAP54G wireless access point to my new Cable Modem? I have it connected to the modem but I cannot access it to configure it. It appears to be working but before I got the cable modem I had it connected to a router and it was set-up with a static IP address. With my new ISP, I no longer have a static IP address so I am trying to configure the WAP54G to use DHCP. Trying to access it thru the internet at 192.168.1.245 does not work.

I'm trying to access the WAP200 for the first time. Instructions say Configure your PC to have the static IP address on the same subnet as the Access Point's default address (http://192.168.1.245). So I assumed i would go to TCP/IP properties and type in IP address and subnet mask and the Utility would open.

I've recently purchased 5 WAP610N access points to replace my older US Robotincs access points.I've configured one WAP610N (upgraded to the latest firmware i found on the site) with a static IP, bropadcasted SSID & WPA2 personal security.I had no problem at all to connect PC's but when i tried to connect the Ipad & Iphone (with the latest 4.3 firmware) i was able to connect to the network but unable to get an IP lease.
I had no problem before connecting to the US roboticx access points. When i change (lower) the security to WEP on the WAP610N then everything works fine but i want to use WPA2 in stead of the unsecure WEP protocol.

I bought a Linksys WAP610N today, i placed it so i could get a signal where i can't normally.
The thing is i configured it correctly, well at least i think, i can see it on my wireless network, with a good signal, but on my Android tablet (Google Nexus 7), it can't get past the "Obtaining IP address".
I called the technical support, the person there tried to assist me for about 1 hour, we tried different settings, we upgraded firmware from 1.0.01 to 1.0.04, but it didn't worked. Now he said someone will call me tomorrow during the afternoon.
My router isn't Linksys, it's a Netgear, i don't have wireless problem when i connect my tablets or any other wireless device on it, it's just that i bought this WAP610N to have the signal in my bedroom, where i don't get any signal normally.

I set up my internet access by adsl modem as gateway, then RV042 as load balancer and dhcp server, security by MAC address restriction and static IP assignment. WAP 610N used as access point.works great for first few weeks, then somehow I can't access the network.I've been using linksys on my SOHO network, no problem before (RV042+WAP54g)

I am connecting to the internet in two desktops using the WAG120N modem+router.I have no problems with the internet. But when I try to use the wireless access point in my mobile phone / laptop, the device is not able to find the WiFi access point. I need to swith off the modem and start it again, then the devices are finding the access point. I guess this has to do with some amount of inactivity and the modem switces off the wireless access point. I there anyway by which I can turn off that setting ? I have tried the setting page but was not able to find anything.

Have a WRT320N router at one end of the house in the basement. Would like to boost signal to other end of the house. Which product should i use, an access point or a range extender? My house is also wired with Ethernet cable and I could plug the access point into an Ethernet port at the end of the house where the signal is weak.

I have a wrt54gs v7 and a wap54g v3.1. Both have latest firmware on them. I set the access point to act as a repeater and entered the mac address from the router (It said to use the lan mac address. is that right?). I have them set on same subnet with static ip addresses. They have same wireless ssid and password with one using channel 10 and the other using channel 2. I can receive an ip address from the router and connect to internet. I cannot get an ip address from the access point. I tried a static ip on the computer and it will connect, but I don't have internet. Am I missing something in the setup? Can this access point act as a repeater for this router?

I'm using a WRT120N and have had no problems connecting most wireless devices, but a Nintendo DS and DSi owned by my family are unable to connect to the access point. My wireless security mode is disabled, network mode is set to mixed, SSID is the same as on the DS/DSi, Channel width is 20Mhz only, Standard channel is set to 6, but I tried using channel 1 and 11 without success, SSID broadcast is enabled.
I've tried every work-about I could find and always get the 51300 error code, and am at a loss as to what else I can try to get the devices to connect to the access point.

I am trying to find an effective way to extend the wireless signal across our home. I have tried various different solutions. Currently, I have an e4200 primary router that is cascaded with two additional e1500 routers that have been configured as access points. The Linksys support team hosted my computer and configured the devices. The e1500 routers are connected via ethernet wires running through the walls. And, this seems to be working well. Here's my question. The e1500 routers are configured with different SSID names, which Linksys advised was required to avoid conflicts in communications from the three router devices. Is there any way to configure this set up or something similar so that the entire wireless network has the same SSID and is seamless. In the current configuration, I have to specifically connect to the primary router or one of the two access points.

I can access the main network, but not the Guest, I cannot even see the GUEST access. Any setting change that needs to be made that will allow me to access the GUEST account from the Access Point?

I set a Linksys WRT54G router up as an access point connected to a D-Link DI624 router. When I set up the Linksys, I connected it directly to my computer and changed the IP address to 192.168.1.2 and disabled the DHCP. I then disconnected the Linksys from the computer, connected it with an ethernet cable from a LAN port on the Linksys to a LAN port on the D-Link and connected the D-Link to my computer. Both routers work perfectly but when I try to access the Linksys settings from my web browser it will not let me. I don't even get the login screen. When I run a diagnostic on the problem I get the following message:Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the (192.168.1.2) device or resource is not responding?
