I have a LAN device (an SBS radar decoder). It is configurable with its own IP etc etc.I am not able to install this device where my router (a Speedport W 920V) currently is.So, can I use any of the above devices, perhaps as a bridge on my current wlan network, to allow me to plug in this LAN device so I can access it anywhere in my house on the wlan?

I have a WAP54g set up as a repeater. It even shows in the WRT54g device list (Tomato firmware) as a WDS interface but nothing can connect to it. I have the repeater's MAC address in the AP and it's set to "Access Point + WDS" mode. I don't know what I could be doing wrong. Is it a conflict of DHCP on the AP vs static on the repeater?

•Configuring Discovery Module Settings
#
•Configuring Seed Device Settings
[Code]....
I want to add devices that found neighbors via CDP son in the configuring discovery module setting i choice that option In the configuring seed device setting i choose DCR as seed device that means those devices already in the DCR start discovering from those devices but you can add more seed devices how i can add a seed device ? with ip addres or something like this? and this device have to be in the DCR already or not? The configuring SNMP settings, this community correspond to what device? the devices that i want to add ? and in the field target name what ip adders have to be? and if i have different community of snmp in my devices what device and snmp community have to configure in this parameter

I have CiscoWorks LMS3.2 with RME4.3.1 and CS 3.3.0.
When I will update the devices and I go to Common Services - Software Center Device Update and I mark Resource Manager Essential then I receive this window:
Now I choose the Rtr2900 package (same problem for all six packages) and when I will download it, then after define the destination path for the file I see this window:
Then I have tried to download it manually with the following command: PSUCli.bat -p rme -d -dst c:psu_download -all
The six packages that are showed in the picture above were not downloaded.
I assume that there is an error on Cisco side because the size of the six packages is NA.
Or is there another possibility to download the package for the Rtr2900?

how the CDP device sensor probe works with ISE ?What I am trying to do, is to identify different Cisco Wireless Access Point models (i.e. LAP 1142) with ISE.Since the APs do speak CDP (I can see the AP devices on the switch), this should be possible with the CDP device sensor on the switch, shouldn't it I have done the following so far: Configured the switch to talk to ISE via radius accounting: [code] Should this config make the switch send CDP information about connected devices to the ISE (via radius accounting) ?How do the device sensors work ?

I would just like to know if this will work. I have 2 Linksys wireless routers, 1 is located downstairs, connected to the cable modem and setup wireless, the other is on the second floor on the other side of the house. I need to extend the wireless range but also keep the 2 pcs upstairs connected through the Ethernet cable.
Router A Connected downstairs to modem 192.168.1.1 DHCP enabled (Change scope to leave out the .2) WPA on wireless setup channel 11
Router B Give it a static ip of 192.168.1.2 Connect cable from wall to any LAN port on router
Setup WPA using same SSID and PW different channel . Leave the 2 pc's connected as before.
The other 2 hardwired PCs should get an address from Router A and be able to connect to the internet?Does this make sense and should it work?

I whish to connect the two switches shown below. The distance between them is 50m (~54 yards), one floor apart, and I would like to link them with the cheapest optical solution possible.I have been given a solution with 19inch patch panel, splitter, pigtail cords, patch cords, SC connectors, i.e., the lot.Not being an expert in networking, I feel that is an overkill solution.

I am actually able to have fun surfing on the Net with this toy computer, provided I don't expect to watch videos or listen to music or download anything. I bought it for a few Euros in France where it is known as the "SurfOne mini PC Ref. INOS1CE"; I think it is the same as the Chinese "OEM mini laptop netbook". It has a 7" screen, a 2 MB memory and claims to run on Windows CE 6.0.My problem is that after successfully connecting via WiFi to my "Orange Livebox" modem and router for a few days, I then lost that connection and can connect now only by cable. When I turn on WiFi power, it recognizes the "Livebox", but then states that it is not receiving any signal and the connection fails. How to restore WiFi.

I have a WRT54G that has served us well for several years, but I needed a network connection in another part of the house, both wired for TV, and wireless for downstairs. So I ran an ethernet cable through the house and connected it to my new E1200. It's connected to Port 1, not the Internet port. The TV plugs into Port 2, and my Apple TV to port 3. So far so good, TV and Apple TV appear to work fine. Wireless is where I'm having problems, the wireless signals between the two routers appear on Wifi Analyzer I'm using. Both appear strong in signal for a second, then they disappear, then they appear again for a second, then they disappear. So the wifi's signals appear, then disappear and this cycle continues.
The WRT54G is setup with DHCP, channel 6.
IP Address: 192.168.1.1 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 DHCP Server: Enabled Start IP Address: 192.168.1.100 End IP Address: 192.168.1.149
The E1200 DHCP is disabled, channel 11, 20mhz.
Router IP Address: 192.168.1.2 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 DHCP Server: Disabled Start IP Address: 192.168.1.1 (DHCP disabled) End IP Address: 192.168.1.50 (DHCP is disabled)
I've tried both routers named the same, and then tried 2 different names. I've rebooted them as well after making changes.

My BEFSR81 is my primary router and has DHCP turned on. The router's DHCP range is set to accommodate 12 devices. I have three computers wired to it and their Host names (as specified in the set-up of each computer) show up in the router's DHCP device table. I also have two printers (one old Brother HL5250DN laser printer and one new HP Photosmart Premier C410a inkjet printer) connected and there are blanks where the Host name should go. I would like to be able to tell which printer is which when I am looking at the DHCP device table. How can I get a names associated with each printer's IP address in the router's DHCP device table? (The real problem is that the router seems to have both printers at the same IP address (192.168.1.100) and if I can get one of them to change I'd like to know which one it was!)

My Linksys Range Extender died. So I bought a WAP54G thinking that I could use it as a repeater to extent the range of the signal from my router to the other wireless PCs in the house.
1st floor:
PC1 connected to a WRT54G v.5 router
PC2 connected to PC1 router via USB network adapter
Laptop connected to PC1 royter via internal wireless
2nd floor
PC3 connected to PC1 router via USB network adapter
PC4 connected to PC1 router via USB network adapter
The main goal is to set up the WAP54G in between PC1 and the other PCs to extent the range of the signal particularly to the 2nd floor PCs.The instructions for configuring the WAP54G are fairly straightforward, but the first issue I run into is not being able to connect to the WAP54G web setup. I am using the following instructions:
[url]...
once I configure or setup the WAP54G through another PC as a repeater, will I be able to disconnect it from the PC and use it as a standalone (e.g., plugging only the power in and leaving it in my kitchen or a hallway) to extend the range of the signal? Or does it have to stay connected to PC1 and does PC1 always have to be on for this WAP54G to act as a repeater?

I have a WAP54G as my access point, currently it is connected with my BEFSR81 router. I am thinking of changing the access point to a WAP610N for the house. I know that this would work but I was wondering if the WAP54G could be used as a repeater for the outside (I know a lower speed). I know they are two different channels but I wanted a larger range for my wireless. I am on Windows XP, SP2, using Firefox. Can this be done?

i have been using a couple of wap54g units for years now (awesome units!) but its now time to upgrade to "N".is there a newer unit that has "N" ?is there a unit that has a PoE option? also, i really like the ability to switch to larger antennas like the wap54g unit does. i would think that all wireless access units should have removeable antennas and a PoE option!

I just got myself a new laptop, and set it up. It is connected to the wireless internet in my home. I then wanted to create a homegroup between the laptop and my desktop, but they can't find each other. Probably because the desktop has a wired connection to the router and the laptop is connected to a wireless access point. The router and the AP are connected to a switch in the middle by cable.
A sketch of the network:
Laptop - - - Wireless Access Point ----- Switch ----- Router ----- Desktop
^ ^ ^ ^
Wireless Wired Wired Wired
They both point to the same gateway and DHCP-server (on 192.168.0.1). And I can ping to that address from both PCs. When I try to ping either of the PCs the pings time out. The subnets are also the same (255.255.255.0) and the IPs are in the same range (192.168.0.114 laptop, 192.168.0.205 desktop).
So I don't really understand what I need to do to be able to access either computer from the other. The weird thing is that Synergy (to use mouse and keyboard over the network) works, just by using the IPs assigned to both PCs.
The acces point is a linksys WAP54g, but I'm unsure of the Router, it has a custom casing from our ISP and hides any clues for identifying the product. I'm going to google a bit so I can add that info later. Both PC's are Windows 7 64 bit. The desktop is Ultimate, the laptop Professional.

I have an E2500 wireless N router that I recently bought to replace a cheapie netgear that I lent to family. The router is in the basement near a bunch of metal ducting and I live near a radio station, both of which I believe is killing my signal. Anyways, I was able to pick up a WAP54G wireless access point. I would like to use it as a wired repeater (hopefully to get the signal up into the upper levels of my house). Can I use the WAP54G with the E2500? I looked in the setup page when I was trying to set it up as a repeater, and it says it will only connect with another WAP54G or a WRT54G (linksys wireless g router).

According to the information on the bottom of the WAP54G setup screen it can connect to the WRT54G without another WAP54G. What I want to do is use the WAP54G as a bridge to connect my DVD player with an Ethernet connection to the internet via the WRT54G. Both units have the latest firmware updates. When I set it up as I believe it should be the WAP54G has all the lights on but the DVD player cannot connect to the internet.

I have a wrt54gx2 with srx 200 technology recently purchased. I havetwo cabled computers attached. One at one end of the house attached tothe router by ehternet cable, the other attached about 100 ft by ethernet cable. The wireless does not reach to the other end of the house, most likley because that part of the house is an addition with masonary walls and a large masonary firplace. I bought a wap54g access point at the recommendation from someone at linksys to attach to the end of the ethernet run. Since my set up is macintosh, I can't use the wizard disk that came with the wap54g. Linksys support was not support( not expected), I need to know what to do to get this up and running. I am new to this stuff and Linksys get the wireless router with ethernet installed and up and running with my dsl. I thought the same for the wap54g.

after several years of proper functioning my WAP started to make trouble and recently stopped working. I've tried a lot of options to get it back online but I failed doing so.The green ACT LED won't light up anymore so my laptop cannot find the WAP anymore. When connecting the WAP directly to the laptop the Network Center shows that Windows is trying to identify the WAP but this messages disappears and re-appears on and on but there is no succes in identification (ofcourse this is caused the the green ACT LED which won't light-up).
