I'm at a new apt and I can't get Online with vista to download the driver so I've been trying to download it on a droid or iPhone and transfer the file any know any way to do this besides finding a cd? Can I make a cd at a friends house by downloading the driver online? Where can I get the driver?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi purchased an E4200 router to replace my old WRT150N. I had a WUSB300N that connected fine to the old router, but it's not connecting to the E4200. I have a guest network set up on it, and the adapter can connect to that, so I'm at a loss as for why it won't connect. Does anyone think it has something to do with the type of security I have set up? I had it on WPA2 on my WRT150N, and the E4200 on WPA2/WPA mixed mode.

I never have problems connecting to Internet from computer that is hooked up to the router, but I often have Internet connection issues from the computer in the other room. It can find the access point, but not connect to Internet. I reinstalled the WUSB300N driver again, but I still cannot connect.

Drivers are succesfully installed and the Device status says "Device is working properly" but when I want to connect to a network it doesnot show any networks. And then a microsoft error windows shut down the installation.
I downloaded the drivers for the WMP54GS and I found the file "ikernel.ex_" is compressed in a format for CAB file extraction and decompression methods. It therefore cause the installation and Setup of Linksys drivers to fail because setup cannot decompress "ikernel.ex_". It was not compressed with Winzip's self extractor utility originally in the download package. The file was compressed in a Microsoft specific compression method for CAB archives, and surprisingly still an old DOS based compression method.
Linksys/CISCO has deliberately tampered with the download installers in an effort to force users to pay for out of warranty installation support. I might be further surprised that manual installation methods via device manager or update driver haven't been deleted from support pages forcing even more telephone calls to tech support.
I had to change from a WRT300N wireless router which died to a new E2500. I noticed that the speed my computers report that they are connected to the wireless network connection is now 144.5 mps, versus 270 mps with the WRT300N. There is no change in location of the devices or computers. The computers use a WUSB300N adapter. Is there a setting or setup that needs to be changed?

I bought a Linksys AE1200 USB Wireless Network Adapter because the laptop stopped recognizing the internal wireless adapter. However, when I use the CD that came with the Linksys adapter to install it, the adapter is not detected. I have tried different USB ports and also power-cycling the router & cable modem & rebooting. Nothing seems to work. I also ran the Setup program on my Gateway DX4860 desktop but the Linksys AE1200 is not detected on the desktop, either.

The AE1000 works great so far, in the one day I've had it, and it appears to start itself and connect when turning the computer on (unlike other people on here that I've seen). BUT, it's all pointless if I can't put my computer into standby. The adapter kicks it right back out as soon as I try to sleep the computer.
I've checked the device settings and "allow the device to wake the computer" is unchecked (in fact, it's grayed out). I rarely turn off the computer; I much prefer to just put it in standby. I don't want to have to unplug the adapter every time I do that.
I recently re-installed Windows on my PC, and I had the Wireless-G PCI Adapter installed before I done the re-installation.Now I've re-installed Windows, the adapter doesn't work. Do I have to re-do the whole process again? Also, I didn't actually install it myself, so any detailed step-by-step tutorial?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI picked up a AE3000 for an older laptop, but it will not connect to any network. It is on an older (01') dell laptop running XP SP3. I have tried using the disk and downloading the latest drivers on-line but no luck. It picks up all the networks around me and mine, but it says trying to connect and just can't. I tried it on another laptop and everything works fine. Is there an issue with this adapter and the original USB ports or XP in general? I have checked and rechecked the passcodes, I have deleted all of the profiles and started from the beginning again. I removed my anti-virus program as well as the last effort. Nothing I do seems to make a difference though.This is just used to access the internet on a laptop that is dedicated to a telescope.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had a hard drive failure recently and replaced my HDD with an identical HDD (WD 500 AAKS) and did a restore from my WD Passport Essential. Everything works as before except I can't install my AE1000 wireless adapter. The OS recognizes the new hardware and I attempt instalation form the setup CD. Istallation goes until it gets to the "Installing" step and then it just stays there forever until it comes back with an error. I am accessing the internet now through a cat 5 ethernet hook-up.

I am running Vista and have the bridge connected to a WRTP54G wireless router...I have also turned with Windows firewall OFF. My network has been setup properly and all other components work fine.
I have tried the setup CD, but get the "The Setup Utility was unable to locate a Wireless G Ethernet bridge..." message.
I have also held the reset button for 30+ seconds and tried to log into the bridge directly using the IP addy (192.168.1.226)
I am having some trouble getting my computer with Windows XP to use the Linksys model WMP54G wireless - G PCI adapter to connect to the network in my house. I have installed the hardware and the drivers. When I open the view available wireless networks window my network shows up with two bars of strength. But when I select this network and click connect, I get an error message saying "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. Please refresh the list of available networks, and try to connect again." I have other computers connecting to this wireless network without any problem. However, when trying to log on, it asks for the network key, which I correctly enter and it attempts to log on, but fails to connect! I have called Linksys, and they claim it is my ISP's fault. When I bootup It connects at 130 mbps and if I let it sit for about a day or so it will eventually connect at 300 mpbs which is what I want it to connect at after boot. I dont see a option in the drivers for this adapter to force 40 over 20. Seems it connects at 20, then after so long it moves to 40.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys WUSB100 ver.2 which i'm using on my desktop (uptodate Windows 7) for over a year now. I never had any problems with it until about a week ago.
After starting the computer, it had no network-connection, nor could it find any network anymore . The led-light keeps flashing blue and the device gets pretty hot.
I've tried about everything, i think:
- I've tried to update the drivers, but the installed driver were already uptodate.
- I have re-installed the device with no effect.
- i've installed the device on 2 other computers; my Windows 7- laptop and my old Windows XP SP3-computer. The problems were the same there.
Where can i find driver for WPC54G ver.4 (FOUR). I looked for on official site, and there are drivers only for ver. 1, 2, 3, 3.1, 5, and 7! Where can i find drivers for ver.4?
My OS is MS Windows 2000 SP4.
