The local connection works, I can ping to and from the computer connected to the WET610 and I can see the other computers, both wired and wireless, on the network so the wireless connection is ok but I can't connect to the Internet, I can't even ping the DNS I'm using. What can be wrong? All the other computers can access the Internet. The WET610 talks to a wireless AP which in turn is connected to a router
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have the bridge working but I have to assign a static IP address to devices connected to it. I can't get it to pick up an address from my DHCP server. Here's what I have:
Cisco ASA5505 (Firewall & DHCP server)
WAP54G - Access Point
WET610N - This Wireless Bridge
The ASA5505 successfully gives DHCP address to ALL wired and wireless computers. The WET610N has connectivity to the WAP54G. The status page indicates it's connected and I can get on the internet if I set a static address. However, once I configure my computer to automatically get an IP from DHCP, it just times-out and says limited or no connectivity. Again, when I set a static IP, I have connectivity to everything. I know the AP is working because I can get an address from my DHCP server (ASA5505) with my other laptops and even my cell phone. Why can't I get a DHCP address through this bridge (WET610N)?
I have a WET610N on my network with very little signal strength. My set up is:
Router E3000
48 ' (48 feet) to
WET610N
The WET610N is on 5Ghz N, and is the only device at Ghz, and indeed the only wireless device during testing.
The use for the adaptor is to connect an Xbox 360 as a MCE for Video streaming. It is unusable, with unwatchable lags and intermittent failures. The 'Network Performance Monitor" doesn't read in mb/s, but essentially I get about 1 or 2 'bars', well under the acceptable for Standard def reading.
zInterestingly, when I bring the device within 3 feet of the router, I get great speeds (30 Mb/s down), but the bit rate reading in the status screen reads lower than the below reading.
Below is at the 45 foot mark->
Link Status:Connected MAC Address:68:7F:74xxxx:31 Network Name (SSID):sx BSSID:98:FC:11:xxxx9:94 Radio Band:5 GHz Channel Width:20 MHz Wide Channel:N/A Standard Channel:36 Bit Rate:43.3Mbps Signal:10% Security:WPA2 Personal
I am interested in purchaseing a WET610N wireless Bridge for my new XBOX 360 to connect to my existing wireless, and wire network. I was wonder if the device can be connected to a 5 port network switch and used on multiple devices such as my TV.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy WET610N crashes when I'm using it behind my PS3 while I'm watching videos in DLNA with the PS3 Media Server. Sometimes I can watch it during 1 hour without problem, somtimes it crashes and restart after 10 minutes of playing already. The restart is taking quite a long time, something like 2 or 3 minutes to get back to a Wifi connection. The router is still working properly while the WET610N is restarting.
The firmware is the latest 1.0.03, the settings are made for Video Access mode. I'm not using any encryption, only MAC address filtering.
My Wifi router is a Belkin N+ (F5D8235-4 v2000).
I recently purchased the WET610N Wireless Bridge to use with my Samsung BD-P1590 Blu-Ray Player. The player has a few built in apps that include Netflix, Bockbuster, Pandora and YouTube. I successfully setup the bridge and hooked it up to the blu-ray player. It wasn't that hard. All the internet apps on the player work fine except Netflix. The first time I use the netfix app, it is supposed to give me a code that I use to register the device with netflix. However, I get a message that Netflix is temporarily unavailable. I have called netflix and they assure me that this is not the case and that it is most likely my wireless setup. The troubleshooting on Samsungs website points to the same thing. With that said, I disconnected the player from the wireless bridge and wired it directly to my router. Netflix works just fine then. Below is a list of things I have attempted:Disable the firewall on the router to see if it was blocking the app. (had the same results)Checked my firmware on all my devices (they are all current)Powered down all my devices and started them up back up starting with my DSL modem and ending with he blu-ray player (same results)Configured the bridge and player to use a static IP vs using the IPs automatically assigned by the router. (same results)Disabled aggregation on all WMM categories. I don't think the WRV54G router supports aggregation,, so I though this might cause a conflict with my setup. (same results)Enabled the broadcasting of SSID (same results)Chatted with linksys support. They basically checked to see if I had the latest firmware and that the bridge was working. They then recommended that I exchange the bridge for a new one. (I have not exchanged it for a new one yet, just because I am not convinced that there isn't something else wrong with my setup)My Configuration
DSL Modem --> WRV54G Linksys Wireless Router --> WET54G Wirelss Bredge --> Samsung BD-P1590 Blu-Ray Player
Router is broadcasting in Wireless G only on channel 1
Using WAP-PSK encryption
I am not sure if the problem lies with the routewr or the bridge. I am hoping someone out there can confirm that the WET610N truly does work whne using it with a BD-P1590 blu-ray player. This would lead me to believe that there is something wrong with my configuration or with using it combination with my older router. I would like to note also, that I have had one instance where BD Live didn't work. However, it has worked on other disks.
I've currently got a WRT54G and have an opportunity to buy a WRT54GS. The problem is that the seller of the WRT54GS has lost the Set-Up Wizard CD & Hard Copy Quick Installation Guide. Obviously I have these items already with my WRT54G. My question is this. Are these items different for the WRT54G or will the stuff I already have for the WRT54G "work" for the WRT54GS.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed a WAP321. I literally configured a test SSID, implemented WPA Personal security, and could not get an iPad or Blackberry to associate with the network. The error message that appears in the Blackberry is "EAP Authentication Failed". But isn't EAP applicable only to the WPA Enterprise mode? The access point works fine if I have the test SSID without any security, but as soon as I turn on WPA Personal security, nothing can connect. Is there something really obvious I'm missing here?(When I select WPA Personal security, I have tried with just the "WPA2" version and "AES" cipher selected, as well as with check boxes ticked on both WPA/WPA2, and on both TKIP/AES. Neither works.)

At this point I do not have, or want, Internet connectivity. I would, however, like to call web pages on the Windows 7 PC from the Windows XP PC. The Windows 7 PC has php files that run C++ files to analyze files supplied by the Windows XP PC and I would like to send the results of the analysis back to the XP PC.The reason for this is that I am setting up a home based web site that allows users to run programs on my Windows 7 PC but I want to keep hackers from accessing files on my Windows 7 PC. So the XP will be connected directly to the Internet and the Windows 7 PC will only be connected to the XP PC.I can successfully ping both ways between the Windows 7 PC and XP PC. So I fire up FireFox (FF) on the XP PC and type the following in the FF URL box.
[code]....
The same happens when I replace the Windows 7 PC IP address with the Windows 7 PC name.I tried to set up a network between the two PCs with the MS network wizard on the XP box. It made a setup disk with a single file on it. I was supposed to run the setup file on the other PCs that are supposed to be on the network but, whe I did, I got the following message.Cannot complete the Network Setup Wizard,An error occurred during the configuration of the network on this computer. You can configure the network manually.

ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.3541

And then a microsoft error windows shut down the installation.
I downloaded the drivers for the WMP54GS and I found the file "ikernel.ex_" is compressed in a format for CAB file extraction and decompression methods. It therefore cause the installation and Setup of Linksys drivers to fail because setup cannot decompress "ikernel.ex_". It was not compressed with Winzip's self extractor utility originally in the download package. The file was compressed in a Microsoft specific compression method for CAB archives, and surprisingly still an old DOS based compression method.
Linksys/CISCO has deliberately tampered with the download installers in an effort to force users to pay for out of warranty installation support. I might be further surprised that manual installation methods via device manager or update driver haven't been deleted from support pages forcing even more telephone calls to tech support.
I have to put cd in and run setup every time I want to get online. WHY

I bought a Linksys AE1200 USB Wireless Network Adapter because the laptop stopped recognizing the internal wireless adapter. However, when I use the CD that came with the Linksys adapter to install it, the adapter is not detected. I have tried different USB ports and also power-cycling the router & cable modem & rebooting. Nothing seems to work. I also ran the Setup program on my Gateway DX4860 desktop but the Linksys AE1200 is not detected on the desktop, either.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought a Cisco 851W router from a coworker about a year ago and tried setting it up at my home with nothing but headaches. I finally gave up and went with DD-WRT and have yet to look back (my $40 router outperforms this thing on so many levels, but I'm getting off-topic!). I recently re-discovered this beast and pulled it out of storage to see if I could get a test network setup at home to practice on. I checked for any IOS updates and downloaded (and installed) the lastest image (c850-advsecurityk9-mz.124-15.T15.bin). I consoled in and verified the initial 10.10.10.1 IP was configured in the VLAN1 interface and directly connected a PC to one of the switchports and pulled a 10.10.10.2 address. I pull up SDM from my browser (I have used FF, IE, and Chrome, all with the same results. Java version is the latest, 6 Update 26.) and it launches the initial configuration wizard. I go through the steps and get up to the DHCP Configuration (after LAN, before Internet/WAN setup) and try to click Next and nothing happens. It doesn't freeze as I can easily go Back, but can never move forward beyond the DHCP configuration. Pressing Cancel on the wizard just shuts down SDM as a whole and exits.
In my troubleshooting steps, I did notice that as soon as I click Next in the DHCP configuration, nothing will happen in the wizard, but the SDM window in the background will automatically present the "Apply Changes" and "Discard Changes" buttons, which weren't there in the previous steps. Of course, neither of those are clickable due to the wizard being open. I really don't want to configure this thing from scratch using the CLI if I don't have to..is there ANY way I can bypass the SDM Wizard at all? Also, I'm running SDM Express, would downloading ASDM and trying to connect from there make any difference?
Everything was working fine till one day, when clicking on Configuration Button you see setup wizard prompt. It's ASDM ver:6.2 and ASA 8.2. Everything is working fine, but now unable to change any rules.
It there simple cure for that?
I have a WRT120N router up and running in my home. I had the software (Network Magic) that came with the router installed on my old laptop. The hard drive died on the laptop and now I cannot seem to find the CD. When can I find an online download for the software?

1) Physical Reset of SR520-FE to factory defaults
2) Run CCA 3.1(1) and connect to 192.168.75.1 using the default cisco/cisco login
3) Under the Home Menu, click the Device Setup Wizard
4) In Step 1, sellect the SR520 and observe that there is also a photograph of the SR520-FE(W) model displayed as feedback for Step 1
5) Try variations of Steps 2 through 4
Note: Step 4 has a problem because it says to plug the power into the device, but if the power was not already plugged in to begin with, we could not run the Device Setup Wizard in the first place.
6) Step 5 prompts for a user name and password.
BUG: No permutations of the documented default usernames and passwords "cisco" or "admin" work. The result is always the error dialog:Device Connectivity Status - "Failure: Not Connected.""Return to Step 1. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a wireless network in a 2 storey house. The internet access and 1 WRT54GS router is on the 1st floor (using frequency channel 11). The wireless single doesn't do very well on the second floor unless there is a device with a strong antenna. I recently purchased a WET610N Bridge and I have an extra WRT54GS (using frequency channel 1).
I would like to be able to add wireless to the 2nd floor by attaching the extra router to the bridge which would wirelessly connect to the router with the internet.
Okay so I have been using my E4200 router and WET610N bridges for a while now without any issues really until yesterday when I updated the firmware on the 4200 now none of my WET610N's (I have 2) can connect via wireless at all. At first I thought it was a a wireless issue but I have other devices that connect up just fine via wireless.I've made no changes to the router or the bridges before the firmware update.
If I hook the bridge directly to the router I can access it and configure it, but looking at the "Status" page, I see the bridge try and connect wirelessly but is quickly disconnected. Range isn't an issue as in my testing the bridge was 2 feet from the router.I've update the bridges to the latest firmware and have verified a 100 times that the settings on both my router and the bridges are set correctly (when the bridges are hooked up via network card).
