I have a WRT120N router up and running in my home. I had the software (Network Magic) that came with the router installed on my old laptop. The hard drive died on the laptop and now I cannot seem to find the CD. When can I find an online download for the software?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently have an E1000 router set up on a 2006 Dell PC as main hub of a network that includes kids' 2003 Dell PC (with a Cisco Connect USB receiver plugged in because it has no wireless capabilities) and wife's Dell laptop. We're about to change main desktop computer to an iMac (2011 refurb, won't be running Lion which I know there's issues with as far as Cisco Connect), give the 2006 Dell to kids and get rid of the old 2003 box. I cannot locate my installation CD, I'm sure it's somewhere in our rather cluttered computer area, although I understand I can download what I need. This probably is a dufus question, and I apologize in advance, it's just not clicking in my mind, but basically am I going to have to go back to step one, just like the first day I set up the router, as far as setting up our network?

It's been awhile since I installed the old router and I remember something about not using the CD as it says before plugging in the new router because it messes everything up. All of my computers are running XP Pro SP3 with 2 of them being wired.
I remember something about just plugging the router in and typing in 192.168.1.1 in my browser and then setting everything up that way. Am I correct in doing this or am I forgetting something?
Oh, I am also running Network Magic so would I also have to reinstall it?
I am installing the router but keep getting stuck on the 4th step and getting an error code 321. i currently have cable internet, which is working but when i follow the instructions it wont work. I cant access 192.168.1.1. I tried through google chrome and internet explorer but neither will recognize it. I just started school and would like to use wireless internet on my new laptop instead of cable on my desktop.
View 9 Replies View RelatedBought a E2500 Linksys Router, i updated with Firmware Version 1.0.03 ( Build 4 )no problem,!! it is connected directly with a RJ45 Cable, router to Computer,no firewall on at all ,wide open yes i am on internet !! but here is the Problem i get everytime !! ---> ( Cisco Connect Setup Software For PC ) what it does is that it installs agreements etc.. password and all but near the end it tells me i am not on the internet you have been disconnected ! ;( and stops everything from continuing installation and i have to uninstall all from registry etc.. then re-install again and get same problem everytime i got a e3000 and it is great.

Then click next, where it says "Searching Networks", then quickly changes to "Connecting to Network", and then it says it "Cannot Find Router.". Err. Check setup, etc.If I hook up directly to new router VIA internet cable. Also, this is strange: When I just open up a web browser and try to log into the router 192.168.1.1, using no user name, administration as the password, it won't let me in to the router. View 1 Replies View RelatedGot the cisco EA4500 router, installed it and ran the set up disc. It downloads whatever it needs to download, then proceeds with a progress bar all the way to 100. Then it tells me my internet cable is unplugged, but I able to browse the intrnet, like now. It tells me to plug it in and hit next, I hit next and it eventually gives me the same message. I've tried unplugging my modem, resetting the router etc. But when trying to run the disc when it gets to that point it always tells me my internet is unplugged? I can even browse the internet while that message is up.

My computer is able to sense the exsistence of the connection tho. I've tried using other computers to connect to it, and still the same problem, can sense but cannot connect.

I'm using an Static IP adress and i'm using wrt120n router, but to connect the internet i have plugged the internet cable in the 1,2,3,4 (doesn't matter which one) slot. So now i'm just using the wirelss part of the router without "routering" if i can say so. When i put the internet cable in the Internet slot of the router, the laptop just cant connect to internet - it shows Unidentified network without Internet Access. I don't know what type of changes i have to make in the WEB interface of the router. I think i have to set the type of the connection - now is DHCP and may be to put my IP adress, DNS, Subnet mask in the router settings, but don't know how exactly. I've tried to set up the router with the CD-interface but same thing happened - Unidentified network when the cable is plugged in the Internet (yellow) port. How to set up the router to be a router, not just a wireless switch?
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy roommate and I recently got a WRT120N to replace an older Linksys router that was exhibiting the same problems with less frequency. Indeed, the entire reason we got the new router was to fix these problems. Alas, they have become worse.Anyways, what's happening is that the router constantly resets itself. It does this every 20 minutes to an hour and doesn't seem to be related to how much traffic it's dealing with.It's not just the internet going down, it's the entire network, and not even just the wireless part. My computer has a wired connection to the router and, and I get told "A network cable has been unplugged" every time it happens. Then, if I look down at the router, I see no flashing lights, just the steady glow of the power light. It always fixes itself after 10-15 seconds, but it's very annoying. Certainly, playing games online or having a conversation on Skype is made more difficult.As previously mentioned, we replaced our older router because it was exhibiting the same behavior, but the new one does it with greater frequency. At the very least, the router does reset itself instead of needing us to cycle the power. The setup was slightly different with the old router: I was using a wireless connection with a WMP54Gv4 which I've had to disable since it bluescreens the moment it so much as sniffs a signal from the WRT120N?

All I can do is switch the "view" from WPS to manual configuration in the management console...this doesn't actually disable anything.Maybe I don't understand WPS security, but what's the point of using a 20 character WPA2 password if WPS has an 8 digit PIN that I can't change or disable?
I just bought a WRT120N to set up with my new Gateway Windows 7 64-bit using Cablevision cable internet. When I go through the steps from the CD to install, the wizard does not find the connection. When the internet is plugged directly into the computer, it works fine.
