I have desktop and two laptops. I have DSL connected with my desktop only. If I'm gonna install E200 so I can use my laptops in internet, wouldn't it effect my dsl connection in my desktop?

NETWORK B with default gateway of 10.10.100.1 and a subnet of 255.255.255.0
I want B to connect to A since that's where I have my domain setup with active directory.
Now from my understanding the Destination LAN IP should be the network I want to connect to, in this case 192.168.0.1. The subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0 and the default gateway should be 10.10.100.1. However, when I do this, the LinksysE200 throws out an 'Invalid Static Route" error. What am I doing wrong? Also, here is the routing table as given by the E200:
I am looking to extend the range in my house by replacing my E200 with an EA4500 (N900) and using the E200 as a wireless access point. My question is, will it work even though I will have two switches between the two routers? Second, will I be able to use all of the functionality of the new EA4500? Specifically I want to hook up two cameras in the house?

SETUPLinksys E1000, latest firmware (v2.1.02), using WPA2-Personal security.
We first tried enabling QoS and setting the MAC address of the downloading laptop to "low" priority and all others to "medium". No luck - the downloading laptop still seems to be hoarding the bandwidth.We also tried adding the download application to the list and setting the port to "low". Still no luck.We added a new application called "web" and set port 80-81 to "high", but that didn't work.We then disabled WMM support. No dice. The other devices still can't connect while my roommatte's laptop is syncing.We've fiddled around with the settings a bit, but no matter what, it looks like the QoS rules are not being applied.And is it acceptable to have multiple categories (MAC and application) in the QoS rules?
I just picked up the E4200 to replace a router, I can remote desktop into a computer that is physically connected to this router, but cannot remote desktop into other computers on the network that are connected via another switch.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOur Comcast broadband goes to our modem then our router (Linksys) before splitting off to our desktop & our Ooma unit. I run our netbook off of the wireless but the desktop & Ooma are physically connected to two of the router's ports.This afternoon I lost the ability to connect to the internet with the desktop. Ooma works and so does my netbook. The computer finds the connection and says it's working fine when I try to diagnose the problem, but none of my browsers (Chrome, Firefox or IE) are able to connect to the network. Thunderbird and gmail notifier also can not connect.Using command prompt I can successfully ping any website I try.I have tried everything I could think of:
Powered down and restarted PCU
New network card
Disabled Norton
New cord from router to network card
Switched connection so it was directly from modem to PCU
Reinstalled browsers
I don't know what else I can try. The computer is not allowing me to run a system restore. It says that the disk is damaged and must be repaired. But it will not allow me to repair it because the disk is running? It seems to me that there is a setting or security issue that is blocking my access to the network?
How can I get a installation CD for a WRT54GX2 Wireless router? Can you download from internet?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently have an E1000 router set up on a 2006 Dell PC as main hub of a network that includes kids' 2003 Dell PC (with a Cisco Connect USB receiver plugged in because it has no wireless capabilities) and wife's Dell laptop. We're about to change main desktop computer to an iMac (2011 refurb, won't be running Lion which I know there's issues with as far as Cisco Connect), give the 2006 Dell to kids and get rid of the old 2003 box. I cannot locate my installation CD, I'm sure it's somewhere in our rather cluttered computer area, although I understand I can download what I need. This probably is a dufus question, and I apologize in advance, it's just not clicking in my mind, but basically am I going to have to go back to step one, just like the first day I set up the router, as far as setting up our network?

It's been awhile since I installed the old router and I remember something about not using the CD as it says before plugging in the new router because it messes everything up. All of my computers are running XP Pro SP3 with 2 of them being wired.
I remember something about just plugging the router in and typing in 192.168.1.1 in my browser and then setting everything up that way. Am I correct in doing this or am I forgetting something?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just brought home an older desktop and my wireless connection seems to disconnect about every 30 seconds to a minute, then reconnects.
The only other devices that we are using wirelessly are our phones, which we never notice a problem with. When it is connected, the signal stength is excellent. It just keeps dropping. Speed 72.0 mbps.
I am using a Linksys E-1200 wireless N router, and a Belkin N150 USB adapter.

After popping in the installation CD, the screen says hook everything up, which I do. Then click next, where it says "Searching Networks", then quickly changes to "Connecting to Network", and then it says it "Cannot Find Router.". Err. Check setup, etc.If I hook up directly to new router VIA internet cable. Also, this is strange: When I just open up a web browser and try to log into the router 192.168.1.1, using no user name, administration as the password, it won't let me in to the router. Even after I have reset the router with a pen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedGot the cisco EA4500 router, installed it and ran the set up disc. It downloads whatever it needs to download, then proceeds with a progress bar all the way to 100. Then it tells me my internet cable is unplugged, but I able to browse the intrnet, like now. It tells me to plug it in and hit next, I hit next and it eventually gives me the same message. I've tried unplugging my modem, resetting the router etc. But when trying to run the disc when it gets to that point it always tells me my internet is unplugged? I can even browse the internet while that message is up.

I have Win 7 and Win 8 dual booting on my brand new Dell Vostro laptop. The wireless works beautifully while using Win 7, but when I switch to Win 8... the actual Fn+F2 wireless switch has no effect whatsoever! So I know the machine is OK, the network is OK, but what could be making the machine act differently under Windows 8? Device manager and details say the driver is up to date.. The desk top uses a wireless USB connection, Linksys 2500. The problem is that before the satalite install, the desk top worked well with the card to connect. Now, the card connects with thw router but does not connect with the internet. I have reinstalled the 2500 software and looked at all that I could but it still does not connect with the internet but does with the router. Any one out there have a thought on this
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E2000 router that is connected to my cable modem. I have a desktop computer that is connected to the router via an ethernet cable, and two laptops in the house that connect wirelessly to the router to get internet access.
This morning, all devices were connected to the internet just fine. I stepped away for a few hours and during that time the desktop 'lost' its internet connection. I have tried re-booting the router and removing-reconnecting the ethernet cable but nothing is restoring the connection.
The fact that my wireless devices are connecting means my internet service is fine, right? So what is preventing the desktop from gaining a connection?
