View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently re-installed Vista and while attempting to set up a wired network, I can't locate the wizard.I only need to set up two PCs. Is there a way to set up a network without it or is there a way to re-install the wizard. My service is Xfinity cable internet, a net gear router (5 port 10/100 Mbps FS605 v3).My pc is a HP s3700y 32-bit, the other is a dell running XP pro. I used to have these two networked when I was with Att, but with this new service I wanted to wipe the HP clean. Now I can't find the wizard, all equipment is operating properly.Have ran several checks.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI bought a Cisco 851W router from a coworker about a year ago and tried setting it up at my home with nothing but headaches. I finally gave up and went with DD-WRT and have yet to look back (my $40 router outperforms this thing on so many levels, but I'm getting off-topic!). I recently re-discovered this beast and pulled it out of storage to see if I could get a test network setup at home to practice on. I checked for any IOS updates and downloaded (and installed) the lastest image (c850-advsecurityk9-mz.124-15.T15.bin). I consoled in and verified the initial 10.10.10.1 IP was configured in the VLAN1 interface and directly connected a PC to one of the switchports and pulled a 10.10.10.2 address. I pull up SDM from my browser (I have used FF, IE, and Chrome, all with the same results. Java version is the latest, 6 Update 26.) and it launches the initial configuration wizard. I go through the steps and get up to the DHCP Configuration (after LAN, before Internet/WAN setup) and try to click Next and nothing happens. It doesn't freeze as I can easily go Back, but can never move forward beyond the DHCP configuration. Pressing Cancel on the wizard just shuts down SDM as a whole and exits.
In my troubleshooting steps, I did notice that as soon as I click Next in the DHCP configuration, nothing will happen in the wizard, but the SDM window in the background will automatically present the "Apply Changes" and "Discard Changes" buttons, which weren't there in the previous steps. Of course, neither of those are clickable due to the wizard being open. I really don't want to configure this thing from scratch using the CLI if I don't have to..is there ANY way I can bypass the SDM Wizard at all? Also, I'm running SDM Express, would downloading ASDM and trying to connect from there make any difference?
Everything was working fine till one day, when clicking on Configuration Button you see setup wizard prompt. It's ASDM ver:6.2 and ASA 8.2. Everything is working fine, but now unable to change any rules.
It there simple cure for that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed a WAP321. I literally configured a test SSID, implemented WPA Personal security, and could not get an iPad or Blackberry to associate with the network. The error message that appears in the Blackberry is "EAP Authentication Failed". But isn't EAP applicable only to the WPA Enterprise mode? The access point works fine if I have the test SSID without any security, but as soon as I turn on WPA Personal security, nothing can connect. Is there something really obvious I'm missing here?(When I select WPA Personal security, I have tried with just the "WPA2" version and "AES" cipher selected, as well as with check boxes ticked on both WPA/WPA2, and on both TKIP/AES. Neither works.)
View 8 Replies View RelatedSteps to repeat the bug:
1) Physical Reset of SR520-FE to factory defaults
2) Run CCA 3.1(1) and connect to 192.168.75.1 using the default cisco/cisco login
3) Under the Home Menu, click the Device Setup Wizard
4) In Step 1, sellect the SR520 and observe that there is also a photograph of the SR520-FE(W) model displayed as feedback for Step 1
5) Try variations of Steps 2 through 4
Note: Step 4 has a problem because it says to plug the power into the device, but if the power was not already plugged in to begin with, we could not run the Device Setup Wizard in the first place.
6) Step 5 prompts for a user name and password.
BUG: No permutations of the documented default usernames and passwords "cisco" or "admin" work. The result is always the error dialog:Device Connectivity Status - "Failure: Not Connected.""Return to Step 1. Make sure that your PC is not connected to a network and you follow all the instructions."A search of the web indicates others are also had this unresolved issue with previous CCA releases.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two PCs connected to each other through a Wireless-N Gigabit Router (WRT310N). One PC is running Windws XP while the other is running Windows 7. At this point I do not have, or want, Internet connectivity. I would, however, like to call web pages on the Windows 7 PC from the Windows XP PC. The Windows 7 PC has php files that run C++ files to analyze files supplied by the Windows XP PC and I would like to send the results of the analysis back to the XP PC.The reason for this is that I am setting up a home based web site that allows users to run programs on my Windows 7 PC but I want to keep hackers from accessing files on my Windows 7 PC. So the XP will be connected directly to the Internet and the Windows 7 PC will only be connected to the XP PC.I can successfully ping both ways between the Windows 7 PC and XP PC. So I fire up FireFox (FF) on the XP PC and type the following in the FF URL box.
[code]....
The same happens when I replace the Windows 7 PC IP address with the Windows 7 PC name.I tried to set up a network between the two PCs with the MS network wizard on the XP box. It made a setup disk with a single file on it. I was supposed to run the setup file on the other PCs that are supposed to be on the network but, whe I did, I got the following message.Cannot complete the Network Setup Wizard,An error occurred during the configuration of the network on this computer. You can configure the network manually.
When I try to find where to select between the different encryption types (TKIP or AES), I see the info on page 87 of the product manual, but this doesn't match what I see in the Manual Wireless Network Setup screen. You can select WPA Personal (in Security Mode), but there are no further panels below it to select encryption types and enter the PSK. Compare page 30 to page 87. There are extra panels on 87 that don't appear on 30, and I can't find a way to access them while accessing the router.I've got the unit set up and running; works fine with my wireless laptop. It's just that I need to be able to switch between things in order to troubleshoot a setup with an internet radio I'm trying to get running (Grace Digital, which apparently doesn't do 802.11n, only up to g).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI noticed my neighbors have a WEP password on their wi-fi networks but I don't with my DIR-601 router. (I thought WEP was rather insecure.) But when I logged into the router and filled in the blank password field it refused to connect and showed no way to change it. I understand there is an always-active firewall built in. Does that protect my data and doesn't need a password? I also entered the router PIN number in a field but nothing further happened when I did. Do I need to set up WPS using the Wizard?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 3 932ls and one 930l in a house in Massachusetts, all registered onto my dlink. All went fine.I brought 3 more 932l and one 930l to a house in Mexico. I had problem w the 932l wizard. Then I noticed that I had brought 2 different wizard discs. They were different versions, the older one could not find a Internet connection, so I could go no further. I tried the newer version of the 932l wizard, it found my Internet connection, and did installation and registered all three 932ls to my current mydlink account. All fine so far. On my mydlink account I have the three Massachusetts 932s , the one Massachusetts 930, and the three Mexico 932s.
I had forget to bring the 930L disc for the installation. Here is where the problem started. I downloaded the 930L wizard from the Dlink site, but I can't get past that first section where is says " checking active x, checking Internet, checking LAN " or something to that effect. It then says " can't find Internet connection, check your adapter, router, etc" or something to that effect. I can't go any further with that wizard. I was able to find the cam from my router and finally got that 930L interface, and did the manual as well as the automatic set-up. I can see the cam perfectly, by going to 192.168.1.101 I can log in, reset my password, did everything. I can see cam wirelessly.
The problem is that I CAN'T register it to my mydlink account, and hence can't see it on mydlink lite , etc.I can ONLY see the cam INTRANET - WISE.the 930L wizard that I downloaded is worthless. I have disabled firewall, did everything, tried an XP PC, as well as a windows 7 laptop. Is there any way to add the cam to my mydlink account ? I even tried the 932L wizard that DOES find my Internet connection, but it doesn't find my 930 at the part where I have to chase a cam to set up. If I can't add the 930L to my mydlink account, I would even be happy if I could access it from the 192.168.1. ddress, but I dont know how to set that up so that I can do that from a different network than my own. I suppose that there must be a way to get to my modem, my router and then to that 192.168.1.101 address?
I have a wireless router namely D-LINK 524. i know its a prtty old router..but its never let me down ever before..but thn today i decided to play a couple of games online using the psp/ps3 and well both the devices couldnt read the access point..
Then i go onto my pc and the internet on the pc dont work either :'( so then i reboot the modem nd wifi router..but to no avail. So i unplug da routerand connect da modem directly to the pc and it worked..so i was quite stunned..nd i miss playing online..
So to trim it down the problem basically is my phone/ps3/psp cannot find my access point AND my pc doesnt work when connected through the wireless router.
I have a Samsung BD-C5500 Blu Ray player and am using the Samsung PC Share Manager software. For some reason, the software is not recognizing the player. However, the player is able to connect to the internet (I stream Netflix). I am running Windows XP service pack 3 and both my BD player and PC are connected to the same router (D-Link 601).
