View 1 RepliesI recently purchased an Asus RT-N12B1. It has an external hardware switch which allows the router to operate in different modes. I put in access point mode. Then I connected an ethernet cable from a LAN port on my Verizon supplied Actiontec MI424WR-GEN2 E router to a LAN port on the access point and turned off the wireless in the router.
I have dynamic DNS setup and port forwarding setup in the router to forward from port 50000 to 192.168.1.2:22 which is a server plugged into a LAN port on the router. This is no longer working since adding the AP and disabling wireless on the primary router. how to debug?
I've currently got a WRT54G and have an opportunity to buy a WRT54GS. The problem is that the seller of the WRT54GS has lost the Set-Up Wizard CD & Hard Copy Quick Installation Guide. Obviously I have these items already with my WRT54G. My question is this. Are these items different for the WRT54G or will the stuff I already have for the WRT54G "work" for the WRT54GS.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI noticed my neighbors have a WEP password on their wi-fi networks but I don't with my DIR-601 router. (I thought WEP was rather insecure.) But when I logged into the router and filled in the blank password field it refused to connect and showed no way to change it. I understand there is an always-active firewall built in. Does that protect my data and doesn't need a password? I also entered the router PIN number in a field but nothing further happened when I did. Do I need to set up WPS using the Wizard?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen restarting my PC after a short power failure the D-Link connection wizard autostarts trying to connect to my wlan. After a short while I have a connection and is able to access the internet. The connection wizard, however does not register that a connection has been established and continues to attempt to connect for two minutes, then shuts down and immediately starts for another two-minute try....and so on. If I shut it down it just pops up again. This has never occured before. I run Windows 7 on an HP with an AMD processor.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 3 932ls and one 930l in a house in Massachusetts, all registered onto my dlink. All went fine.I brought 3 more 932l and one 930l to a house in Mexico. I had problem w the 932l wizard. Then I noticed that I had brought 2 different wizard discs. They were different versions, the older one could not find a Internet connection, so I could go no further. I tried the newer version of the 932l wizard, it found my Internet connection, and did installation and registered all three 932ls to my current mydlink account. All fine so far. On my mydlink account I have the three Massachusetts 932s , the one Massachusetts 930, and the three Mexico 932s.
I had forget to bring the 930L disc for the installation. Here is where the problem started. I downloaded the 930L wizard from the Dlink site, but I can't get past that first section where is says " checking active x, checking Internet, checking LAN " or something to that effect. It then says " can't find Internet connection, check your adapter, router, etc" or something to that effect. I can't go any further with that wizard. I was able to find the cam from my router and finally got that 930L interface, and did the manual as well as the automatic set-up. I can see the cam perfectly, by going to 192.168.1.101 I can log in, reset my password, did everything. I can see cam wirelessly.
The problem is that I CAN'T register it to my mydlink account, and hence can't see it on mydlink lite , etc.I can ONLY see the cam INTRANET - WISE.the 930L wizard that I downloaded is worthless. I have disabled firewall, did everything, tried an XP PC, as well as a windows 7 laptop. Is there any way to add the cam to my mydlink account ? I even tried the 932L wizard that DOES find my Internet connection, but it doesn't find my 930 at the part where I have to chase a cam to set up. If I can't add the 930L to my mydlink account, I would even be happy if I could access it from the 192.168.1. ddress, but I dont know how to set that up so that I can do that from a different network than my own. I suppose that there must be a way to get to my modem, my router and then to that 192.168.1.101 address?
I have a new wireless router (new network, entirely). I used to get intermittent "network access denied" messages. Now, I get intermittent connectivity loss: "No internet access." I typically just right click and troubleshoot. The problem is solved and I get the following message: "Problem with wireless adapter or access point." Once fixed, things go on well for a random time (never more then a day). Then, however, they just fall apart.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUpgrading the firmware from 1.11EU to 1.21EU and 1.31EU has introduced a problem with multicast (IPTV) streams. I have enabled multicast streams and it seems the router no longer forwards a specific address range, in my case 239.139.128.* on port 1234.
I have checked: Streaming from 233.81.233.* works in 1.11EU, 1.21EU and 1.31EUStreaming from 24.1.3.* works in 1.11EU, 1.21EU and 1.31EUStreaming from 239.139.128.* works only in 1.11EUUsing IGMP proxy on Linux I have checked the stream at 239.139.128.* are available as to be sure the DIR-655 is not forwarding them. I see a lot of forum messages stating IPTV streaming is broken since firmware 1.11. It is however working for me in 1.31EU but only for certain address ranges. Can anything be configured to allow 239.139.128.* to work? Because my TV provider uses the 239.139.128.* range for half the IPTV channels I need to get this working.
Related to this, is there page listing known bugs for the DIR-655 and roadmap for future firmware releases?
Is there any place I can download it so I can use my wi-fi again withot buying the installation CD?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought the dir-615 today and already have issues. I don't know much about networking and have an intermediate understanding of computers in general. When I run the CD Wizard the configuration says it has detected another router and asks if I want to replace it or add the new router with it. I do not and have never had a router previously. So, for whatever reason I can't use the wizard because of this. I followed the instruction perfectly and no dice. Installing it manually is a bit above my knowledge level.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a DCS-930 running successfully on my home network. Now I want to set up a DCS-932 on a different network at my mother's house in another city, so I can monitor her house from a distance. Questions:
1. After installing, will I be able to see both cameras at mydlink.com if they are on different networks?
2. Is installation any different because there are 2 networks?
3. Can I use the existing install wizard on the laptop that I used with the 1st installation or should I use my mother's PC?
4. How do I get started since the first instruction is to insert and use the CD that came with the new camera?
Basically I want to know what the install procedure is if I am using a different network but the same laptop I used with the 1st one. The laptop has a wireless connection to both networks.

We have successfully implement the primary router with 2 x 4 Mbps MPLS circuit. Site is having two computer room CR1 and CR2 and distance between both room is 200mts. CR1 is having primary core router and primary core switch where the service provider terminated the new MPLS circuit and we have done the successful implementation. CR2 is having Secondary core router and secondary core switch where we needs to have the termination of Ethernet link but service provider has delivered the Ethernet link on the CR1 which is incorrect DMARC Location.
Both the computer rooms are connected via optical copper can we use that copper to connect the circuit on CR2, as per my understanding we can use the optical fiber to connect the wind circuit on secondary router on CR2 by using the media connector.

View 14 Replies View RelatedMy husband moved my desktop where my netgear router is connected to and now I have a red light indicating no internet is being detected. I tried re-connecting my router by going to the netgear ip address, I got in and it says its disconnected. I went through the set up wizard to see if that would fix the problem. But it didn't connect... I typed in my DSL ID and Password but it still didn't find a connection. Then I tried again and this time I tried connecting (NOT MANUALLY) it found a connection using the generic ID and password that att gave me. I was directed to the AT&T set up website and at the end of the set up it didn't find my modem..

In the past, I had a PPTP server running behind a NAT and I used Pass Through to get external clients (Macs) to connect to my local LAN. But now I would like to use the Cisco Router's VPN capabilities to set up VPN and shut down the PPTP server in my LAN.I have a couple of fixed IP addresses that end up on this router, wit ISP-based 'technical' domain names (e.g. foo.static.isp.com) with reverse lookup, so using those, I should be able to connect to my RV220W from the outside.

I have done a fair amount of research an can see earlier versions of ASDM wit the VPN wizzard so can only assume it is down to the firmware.i see that the latest version for the ASA 5505's is 8.4.4 and was wondering if this will provide me with the functionality i require as it does mention in the documentation that it does support the clientless VPN options. What part number ASA5505-BUN-K9 relates too in relation to firmware for the ASA's? [code]
Ive just started up a new cisco 887va-w and the startup wizard doesnt start. Is there a way to make this manually start?
What i tend to do is run the wizard for the basic settings then run 10-15 lines from the client (depending on adsl or vdsl config) to configure the router. But for some reason this one doesnt fire it after loging on with cisco cisco to 10.10.10.1 and changed the username and password. I just get the bebased cisco cp 'basic'. Cant see anyware on it to launch the wizard either.
Ive tried reset button on the back and reset to factory from cisco cp?
Software running on the unit is c800-universalk9-mz.spa.151-4,m4.bin
I have a brand new ASA 5505 running version 8.2(5). Got connected with the ASDM and ran the setup wizard and the remote access VPN wizard. I am not able to ping the outside interface from the internet, and my VPN client gets no response when trying to connect.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought a Cisco 851W router from a coworker about a year ago and tried setting it up at my home with nothing but headaches. I finally gave up and went with DD-WRT and have yet to look back (my $40 router outperforms this thing on so many levels, but I'm getting off-topic!). I recently re-discovered this beast and pulled it out of storage to see if I could get a test network setup at home to practice on. I checked for any IOS updates and downloaded (and installed) the lastest image (c850-advsecurityk9-mz.124-15.T15.bin). I consoled in and verified the initial 10.10.10.1 IP was configured in the VLAN1 interface and directly connected a PC to one of the switchports and pulled a 10.10.10.2 address. I pull up SDM from my browser (I have used FF, IE, and Chrome, all with the same results. Java version is the latest, 6 Update 26.) and it launches the initial configuration wizard. I go through the steps and get up to the DHCP Configuration (after LAN, before Internet/WAN setup) and try to click Next and nothing happens. It doesn't freeze as I can easily go Back, but can never move forward beyond the DHCP configuration. Pressing Cancel on the wizard just shuts down SDM as a whole and exits.
In my troubleshooting steps, I did notice that as soon as I click Next in the DHCP configuration, nothing will happen in the wizard, but the SDM window in the background will automatically present the "Apply Changes" and "Discard Changes" buttons, which weren't there in the previous steps. Of course, neither of those are clickable due to the wizard being open. I really don't want to configure this thing from scratch using the CLI if I don't have to..is there ANY way I can bypass the SDM Wizard at all? Also, I'm running SDM Express, would downloading ASDM and trying to connect from there make any difference?
I am trying to come up with a standard way to configure controllers for my field guys. I'd like to just have them paste in a config that has all the settings, like we use to be able to do on aIOS. I am not seeing away to break out of the wizard so that they can just paste in a config. Do you have to go through the wizard in order to get to a CLI ?

After doing a factory reset via routerlogin.net I still have the same problem. The only thing I can think of is maybe the port got damaged? (The ethernet cables all work fine).
My process for hooking up the new router in case I was doing something wrong:
Unplug cable modem power, swap all the cords, on router while cable modem was rebooting and then once modem connected I turn on router. Did I need to restart the PC as well? Is that why this is screwing up?
