D-Link DIR-655 :: Multicast (IPTV) Forwarding Broken In 1.21EU And 1.31EU
May 15, 2010
Upgrading the firmware from 1.11EU to 1.21EU and 1.31EU has introduced a problem with multicast (IPTV) streams. I have enabled multicast streams and it seems the router no longer forwards a specific address range, in my case 239.139.128.* on port 1234.
I have checked: Streaming from 233.81.233.* works in 1.11EU, 1.21EU and 1.31EUStreaming from 24.1.3.* works in 1.11EU, 1.21EU and 1.31EUStreaming from 239.139.128.* works only in 1.11EUUsing IGMP proxy on Linux I have checked the stream at 239.139.128.* are available as to be sure the DIR-655 is not forwarding them. I see a lot of forum messages stating IPTV streaming is broken since firmware 1.11. It is however working for me in 1.31EU but only for certain address ranges. Can anything be configured to allow 239.139.128.* to work? Because my TV provider uses the 239.139.128.* range for half the IPTV channels I need to get this working.
Related to this, is there page listing known bugs for the DIR-655 and roadmap for future firmware releases?

After upgrading firmware from ver 4.00 to 4.11 I can't watch IPTV anymore with VLC. With version 4.00 IPTV works over router (wireless or cable) fine but because of some disconecting trouble I upgraded to ver 4.11. Setup is the same as it was in ver 4.00 including Multicast parameter.

I've bought a E3000 as replacement for my Linksys WRT350N router.Just upgraded the firmware to version Ver.1.0. 04 (build 6).I use aonTV - an austria IPTV service (Multicast via UDP) - an this worked with my old WRT350N (hw version 1) consistantly well. I hardly had to reboot the router to get the multicast stream. With E3000 I checked the option that it should not filter any multicast traffic - when I reboot the router it works for some time - but after some hours it does not work anymore? I want to watch TV via my HTPC connected via GigaBit Power to the E3000.

I installed firmware version 1.2.0.9 a couple weeks ago after seeing in the release notes that the port forwarding bug where clients would get 'no route to host' was resolved (one of the original posts found here:URL
After installing the firmware and confirming it's running I've seen no improvement. I still must reboot my router 2-3 times daily so clients can access the ports that are defined in the port forwarding module.

I recently purchased an Asus RT-N12B1. It has an external hardware switch which allows the router to operate in different modes. I put in access point mode. Then I connected an ethernet cable from a LAN port on my Verizon supplied Actiontec MI424WR-GEN2 E router to a LAN port on the access point and turned off the wireless in the router.
I have dynamic DNS setup and port forwarding setup in the router to forward from port 50000 to 192.168.1.2:22 which is a server plugged into a LAN port on the router. This is no longer working since adding the AP and disabling wireless on the primary router. how to debug?

I can't seem to find where in ASDM (6.4.1), can we configure IGMP forwarding? ASA5520(config-if)# igmp forward interface outside The ASDM doc reference does not seem to be correct pointing to:configuring Stub Multicast Routing
Step 1 In the main ASDM window, choose Configuration > Device Setup > Routing > Multicast > IGMP.
#Step 2 In the Multicast pane, check the Enable Multicast routing check box.
#Step 3 Choose MForwarding.
which generates:
ASA5520(config-if)# mfib forwarding

I purchased IPTV set-top box from Dish Network (which in turn uses NeuLion services). The set top box works out of the box with TrendNet TEW-432BRP, however the set top box seems to reboot every time I try to launch a channel. The set top box is connected to LAN port 2/DLink is configured to reserve IP address for the set-top box based on its MAC address. The set top is also within its own DMZ so that it does not interfere with firewall settings.

I have a new wireless router (new network, entirely). I used to get intermittent "network access denied" messages. Now, I get intermittent connectivity loss: "No internet access." I typically just right click and troubleshoot. The problem is solved and I get the following message: "Problem with wireless adapter or access point." Once fixed, things go on well for a random time (never more then a day). Then, however, they just fall apart.

I try to pass multicast traffic between two vrf on the same 3750 switch. I have IP services IOS and sdm template routing.
here is my config:
ip routing
!
ip vrf vpn2
rd 1:1
mdt default 232.1.1.1
route-target export 1:1
route-target import 1:1
[code]....
Now I'm stuck - I don't know what to do to pass multicast traffic. Do I have any chance to run this config on 3750 chassis?Perhaps "Configuring Multicast VPN Extranet Support" document will be useful, but it concerns Catalyst 6500? [URL]

I am having trouble getting some multicast traffic across a link. I have a 3750G setup, with IP routing and IP multicast routing, between two laptops. This will eventually sit between two networks that cannot be physically connected to each other for security reasons. I have static joins on the ports but cannot see the multicast traffic on the receiver. I am attaching the latest config. The sender(10.10.4.2) sits on gi1/0/24 and the receiver(10.10.3.2) sits on gi1/0/1. I am using VLC to test this and it will connect if I point the receiver to the address of the sender, but will not receive any multicast. The multicast traffic is not making it to the 10.10.3 side, I used wire shark to verify that it was not making it across.

My topology is a physical ring, and I need transfer IPTV signal to all site along the ring. For example:
A (headend)--- B --- C --- D
|______________________|
Note: -----: have spoke-mesh defination
_____: no spoke-mesh defination to prevent loop
So, with MPLS/VPLS I can implement it. With spoke and mesh defination, the traffic can transfer form A to B, C or D as drop-continute action in ring topology (between different VC). Everything is good, FRR can work very fast. But when the topology have a failure link, for example the link between B and C, at that time the traffic will go from A to B then B come back to A and A --- D ---C. This action is so stupid, because it can increase delay, jiiter in network. On the other hand, when the node failure ( B failure), C will loss the IPTV signal, even the link from A--D--C always good.

i am signed up for an IPTV service. my service provider set up their own hardware including a reciever and a wireless modem. but their wireless modem has weak signal and i cannot connect to it using my computer in the other room. so i wanted to set up my WAG54GP2 modem to use with IPTV service. but i couldn't. i have followed the instructions described there:
[URL] (support page for some other IPTV provider, i guess)
so, i have checked the configuration details of the other modem which is provided by the IPTV company and found out that encapsulation mode is selected as "DHCP" instead of "Bridge mode only". But my linksys modem does not have an option named "DHCP". so, does it mean that it is impossible to use IPTV with my WAG54GP2 modem?

I've got an IPTV network with Bell FibeTV with Motorola VIP1216 (the DVR master) and VIP1200 (slave) cable boxes. All the coax cables in my walls form a wired ethernet network instead of a cable TV network. To get better wireless coverage in my home, I've set up routers as wireless access points at each of the cable boxes. Essentially I've plugged the router into the ethernet bridge of the cable boxes, and disabled DHCP and gave it a static IP and did all things I needed to do to disable all the routing capabilities and make it into a switch (here's what I did, step by step: [url...]). So when I go from one room to another, I just select a new wireless access point to get maximum signal strength and speed.

I need to set QOS in our new network. We have connected 2 cities together with 700Mbit leased line. On each side we have Catalyst 2960S switches and between them is TRUNK for VLAN 10 and Vlan 20.Vlan 10 is for IPTV (fixed 400 Mb/s for CATV)Vlan 20 is for Internet (rest).Sometimes is happening that Vlan 20 takes more than 400 Mb/s for a few seconds and in this situation we have problems with CATV.Is there any way to make a guaranteed bandwidth 410 Mb/s for CAT - VLAN 10 on this swithces?

we have Catalysts 2960S for switching in our Wireless high capacity backbone network. As agregation switch we are using 3560x.
I just need to know, if are these 2960S good solution for igmp snooping for whole IPTV stream. It put only a range from backbone and put out on another port. But just specified multicast addresses.
Imput will be 239.128.0.10 to 239.128.0.20 on Gi 0/1,Output wil be 239.128.0.10 - 15 on Gi 0/24
IPTV will be separated on different VLAN for eg VLAN 20,Is needed any priorization configured od switches?,The capacity for IPTV is around 500 mbps

I was trying to port forward and could not get it to work. I run a Camfrog room sever of my desktop computer. I needed the TCP port 6005 open to the desktop and UDP ports 5000-15000. I enter that in to the Port forwarding setting but it never work. So later on today I try this I blank out the TCP 6005 in the port forwarding and letf the UDP setting in it and saved it. Then I went to the Virtual server settings and add camfrog3 in the name and put the TCP port 6005 in to it and check it and save the setting and bingo it work.

Alright, so I'm trying to set up a Minecraft server without having to use some sort of hosting program, such as LogMeIn Hamachi. I have tried port forwarding both my external IP from "whatismyip.com" and from ipconfig in the CMD WITH the correct Minecraft port, and others still cannot connect. note that I can only connect to my own server when I use the IPv4 address from my CMD. get my server working so that others can connect? (I have been sure to change my "server properties" file's "server-ip" line accordingly.)

I have few inter-AS and Hub & Spoke MPLS L3VPNs up and running but, all of them uses plain IPv4 on the PE-to-CE connecting interfaces for switching the L3VPN customer traffic. While, this is ok to route traffic between customer sites over a ISP backbone using the VRF and MP-BGP/LDP configurations which does the MPLS forwarding in the ISP backbone, i would like to know, how to enable MPLS forwarding on the PE-CE links as well to make it MPLS right from CE1 - PE1 - P - PE2 - CE2 all the way for the VPN traffic.
This way, even the last mile access to CE devices will be an MPLS link over a Ethernet PHY so that, the traffic originating from CE1 to CE 2 will be carried on a MPLS tagged Ethernet frame instead of IPoEthernet frame.
