I am trying to use my EA4200 wireless as simply a router to run my home network. I want to leave all my cables plugged into it and distribute the internet via the switch to my other computers. I just want to turn of the wireless feature.

I do have a guess password, that is fine---what I want to remove is the guest signal to our Dish Network wireless sight.

It claims to be compatible with OSX 10.7 and up. Apparently 'up' does not extend to 10.8. When will we get an updated version of the connect software so that I can reconfigure my router?

All I can do is switch the "view" from WPS to manual configuration in the management console...this doesn't actually disable anything.Maybe I don't understand WPS security, but what's the point of using a 20 character WPA2 password if WPS has an 8 digit PIN that I can't change or disable?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to disable the guest access connection on E1000 wireless router but this option is not in the firmware menu. So, now I read that I need to use Cisco Connect on the CD to change this feature. When I run the Cisco Connect software, it says it can't configure the router (probably because I already have it configured). Why doesn't the Cisco Connect software simply take me to the settings where I can change the guest access feature? Why does it try to re-configure the router? Whoever designed this at Cisco was probably smokin some medical MJ because it doesn't make any sense that I have to go through so many hoops to do something so simple.

But reading through the forums today, I've found that IPv6 being enabled might be the cause of my issue. So I'm currently sitting at work and connected to my router remotely, but for the life of me, can't see where to disable this option. Using the Smart Wi-Fi interface, closest I can get is "Connectivity, Internet Settings, IPv6 but everything is grayed out and no option to edit this.

I do not want to use Cisco Connect Cloud, for security reasons, so how can I disable the automatic access to the cloud? Use of the Cisco Connect Cloud should be optional, and not mandatory. If the cloud is the only way I will be allowed to make changes in my router, I may just have to return it to the store. Can this "feature" be turned off?

After running one of the tools to determine responsiveness of DNS name services, I would like to manually configure my DNS services, placing a more responsive service as my first DNS choice. In the router administration, I can configure three static DNS IP's. However, I don't see any place in the configuration to turn off the automatic DNS configuration from my ISP. So, when I issue an IPCONFIG /ALL on my computer, the DNS listing shows two DNS Name Services from my ISP ahead of the three static DNS IP's that I configured.

I want to make a dedicated server with UT3.I tried many things like disabled all security in the router or disable UPNP, fowarding every ports that Unreal Tournament need or DMZ settings. I am running a batch file to start the dedicated server... but still have '' Nat is now strict'' in the log of my batch file. I cant see my server in the master server list inside the UT3 game. I tried to make the server without my router, directly connected to the modem and then it works instantly.

It might work some time less than a day but then it fails. I tried to set the wireless channel manually instead of auto and the same issue is happening. The private wireless ssid works just fine. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm about fed up with with having this issue that no one can seem to solve. It dates back to when I owned a WRT54G router. I started experiencing random disconnects with the router, both wired and wireless. I only owned the router a year and figured it was going bad.
So I purchased this WRT120N router late August. Soon after I set the router up, low and behold the same problem started. I've called my ISP a couple occasions and they tell me that everything is fine from their end. I've spoken with Linksys tech support on 3 seperate occasions. I have changed the MTU to 3 different values and upgraded the firmware. The 2nd support tech suggested that I do those two things. To my surprise this worked for 2 or 3 weeks with no problem. The same problem started again just last night disconnecting intermittingly. I spoke with another support tech and they suggested that disable the SPI Firewall protection and Anonymous internet request. That did not work for the brief time I had this disabled.
More into the problem, when it disconnects the modem seems fine but the activity light on it stops as it should. The router itself appears to reboot, then when it comes back up the connection restores. What could possibly cause this? I currently have version 1.0.02.This is getting very frustrating and I am getting very near not using Linksys/Cisco products any longer.
We have a wireless internet service. Not satellite. We basically have an antenna on our house that picks up the signal from a tower a mile or two away. I used the e3000 router when we lived in town with broadband internet and it worked fine. I can't get it to keep a hold of a signal. I can connect to the router from the computers but the router drops the signal from the tower. I have an old router that the wireless company was kind enough to lend me that works , but the signal is weak and it could die at any moment... I"m at my wits end.. I have an expensive piece of equipment that wont hold the signal. I have updated the firmware and the Cisco connect software..
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a linksys wrt54g wireless router and a few weeks ago my wireless connection started to become inconsistent, it would randomly drop service or be very slow, and now it has become very inconsistent and slow, all the while the wireless signal would be 4-5 bars.On my windows 7 desktop, often times the yellow triangle with the exclamation mark pops up over the signal strength indicator when its at 4-5 bars.I've tried changing to 2 different routers and its the same, and the problem is persistent for all computers in the house.I've connected directly via ethernet to the modem and router and service was fine.There are a few wireless networks in the area,some with quite strong signals, but I downloaded the xirrus wifi inspector and it says I'm not sharing a channel (channel 1) and though I'm ~15ft from the router, the signal is ~65dbm, which seems low and is almost equivalent to neighbor's wireless strength.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using the E2500 with the Wireless N-pci adapter with dual band, both with the latest drivers / firmware, and I am getting extremely low signal quality and connection speed when connecting to the 5 Ghz network.My computer is no more than 15 feet away from the router, and on the same level. I also verified the connection with the 2.4 Ghz band, and it reads as excellent, and with 54 mps. Using 5 Ghz I get one bar of signal quality (very poor) and no more than 13 mps connection speed.
