I have a Sony Vita , PS3, & Cisco ASA 5505 firewall. I can get remote play to work only if the PS3 is powered on. The ASA will kill any Wake-on LAN packet no matter what I do to try to allow it. Apparently it doesn't support directed broadcast.

I'm using a WD MyBook Essential 3TB with NTFS, which is on the compatible list [URL]. But the router only sees 746.486GB.I tried the latest firmware 2.1.39.145204(Smart WiFi) and 2.0.37.131047(Classic). Neither of them recognize the 3TB HDD.

I'm considering the E4200V2 for deployment in this medium-sized biz environment, but I want SNMP support. Is the E4200V2 a suitable choice? Several reviews have been favorable, but I find no mention of SNMP implementation.

It says nothing about only being able to connect one. Since I have 3 USB drives and 2 USB printers, that sounded great. Setting it up, it seems that this port will not use a HUB, and can only be used for one USB device. How can that be? That is so limiting as to be nearly useless.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just bought an IOSafe Solo G3 3TB drive. My E4200 does not seem to mount the drive correctly when formatted as GPT. When I re-format as MBR, it mounts with no problem, but this limits the drive size to 2TB. Has anyone had success with this HD or others using GPT format?

I prefer keeping stock firmware where possible but I need this functionality, it really isn't a big ask.That said I have an E4200 v1, which already looks like abandonware given it's been 6 months since the last firmware update - not amused and no intention of swapping a high performance router for one that sacrifices performance for better NAS functionality.

When attempting to set up Remote Web Access, WHS continues to recoginze my E4200 model information and router IP address but delivers the message 'Remote Web Access to Your Server is Blocked'. Cisco and MS say the router is compatible with WHS and that it should set up through the wizard but no luck following many attempts, including manual set up of DHCP Reservation and Single Port Forwarding on ports 80/443 (not sure I did this correctly).
I've taken the router back to default settings with the exception of enabling Remote Management under the Remote Management Access section of the Administration menu tab; tried again with the same result. What settings to change to make this work?
i've not seen anything that sugests this (also my E4200 is on order, pending delivery, so unable to look into it more), but is it possible to have a remote library with the E4200 media server? i currently have a server with alot of content on it, but it does not support uPnP/DLNA. would i be able to use the E4200 to connect to the server and access it via the E4200's media server?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to separate my house in three zones plus guest W LAN. One for my mother in law living upstairs, One Gega-net for my family and one for my own little company office. Additionally I want W LAN on three of the V LAN's in addition to one guest W LAN.
And I want remote access to my music on the family LAN and my documents on the office LAN.
Can I accomplish this with one (W LAN)router or do I need more equipment?
I'm experiencing dropping connection and can't play online games because of extreme lag. when pinging certain sites here is the results at the bottom. so very extremely high ping. then after a while like 5 mins, when i hover my mouse cursor at the network icon it says limited access and i don't have any internet connection, even powercycling doesn't work. it stays like that. when using direct connection to the modem only it works fine. but when using the wrt120n router i experience that problem either wired or wireless it stays the same. My firmware is latest, router settings default.

I can do almost things on my iPhone, but when I tried streaming video or streaming music from apps on the phone it stared buffering.... play..... and.... stop.... almost every 30s which never happen with my old Linksys E1000. And It happen with my wife's phone too. Even my internet speed is not bad at all (Ping: 24 / Download 23Mbs / Upload 4Mbs). So I can guess that problem from the router. Then I swap the E4200v2 with the E1000, everything works fine (it just a litle bit slower when loading at begin).

I called Comcast to see what can i do. They said its problems with the router. I enter the right numbers for PS3 in the Single Port Forwarding and Port Range Forwarding. If I have it on these settings, the iPhone will connect (slowly) to the router, but access content on the browser takes forever (or not at all).I have to set the router to G only nmode, but obviously this is no good for the rest of my devices!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to connect to an online radio station, a shoutcast. I am unable to do this when connected to my EA3500. I do not think it is a port issue since I can connect to a different station using the same port. I can listen to many other shoutcast streams with no problems.
A friend with an older Linksys router is able to connect to the station with no problems.
I have turned off the ipv4 firewall, ipv6 firewall. I've tried DMZ, port triggering, forwarding. Still the stream will not play. I use the Winamp player, Windows Media player, Real player. All the other shoutcast streams I have tried work, but not the one I need to work.
If I bypass the router it works fine on any of my 4 pc desktops, 4 laptops. My iphone using the winamp app can not get the stream if using the wirless, but can if I turn off wirless and use 3G.
I am writing a radio series for this station and it starts airing the show in a couple of weeks, I really want to be able to hear it without eating up my data on my phone.
I have recently discovered that I can stream audio from my WRT54G V2 via a wireless extender.I can not play internet radio, or stram Rhapsody via the extender.The extender will not stream audio.This is actually quite normal behavior of a Range Extender. Range Extenders work off of the idea of pulling a signal from the Base Station and then repeating the signal frequently, this generally causes rebuffering issues with most wireless devices within a network.I believe I need a wireless extender that does not repeat the signal, more of a wireless access point.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just hooked up my new Sony BDV-E570 Blu-ray home theater in a box. Everything looks great except it is not connecting to my WRT110 wireless router. Router is one level below where the home theater system is located, and signal strength appears good (4 bars) on the Blu-ray player, but it repeatedly says "connection failed" when I try to connect. The Wii is also in the same place and has no problems connecting wirelessly to the WRT110 router.

WMP fails to play whether i am hard connected or wirelessly connected.
