View 1 RepliesUnable to stop the power light from blinking on a BEFSR41 tried updating the firmware.I have tried resetting the router using the rest button, for 3 seconds, 10 seconds, and 30 seconds, nothing works.Tried running the setup disk, but it does not see the router. Is there a repair tool that I can download?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from a DSL ISP (Earthlink, Zyxel modem configured as a bridge, pppoE connect) to a cable ISP (Comcast, Arris cable modem, dhcp connect). Basically PC --> DIR615-->Cable modem-->Internets. With the old DSL the Internet activity LED (green, looks triangular) on the DIR615 blinked only when internet activity occurred. With the new Comcast connection it blinks non-stop about 5 times a second! Even if the PC is turned off it blinks. It stops blinking if I disconnect the ethernet cable between router and modem. The connection itself is fine, but if the DIR615 is doing something it should not be doing it might slow the connection down a bit, (or burn something out prematurely?)FYI, the Arris cable modem does not seem to be a router. It takes a cable connection from outside and provides a single ethernet cable and 2 (voice) telephone cables to the house.

the power light on my wrt54g v2.2 router keeps blinking and it wont connect to the internet when connected
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Wireless-G WRT54G router has a blinking power light and the startup software says "Unable to connect to the Router! Check that the Router has been connected to the computer, and that your Ethernet adapter is working." I tried uploading the firmware but I can't get to the router page to update. Is there a known problem or solution here or am I just going to have to find the router page?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I recently upgraded from a WRT54GS to a WRT160N v2, all was well and good for about 3 days. Then I would lose my internet connection every 5 minutes or so, it would fix itself by the time I could open up command prompt and start pinging to pin point the problem. I decided I would update the firmware to see if that would fix the issue. Since doing that the power light has been blinking non stop. I've tried restoring it to factory defaults by holding the reset button for 30seconds, turning it off for 2 minutes and back on. That little blue light just keeps flashing. I can't even access the router setting page using 192.168.1.1. My OS is Windows xp x64 sp2, and I have DSL.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNo download available and none available via Linksys Live Chat or FTP and having spent the best part of the week trying to find relevant firmware on other forums I decided to come here to get answers to the following questions, hopefully from version 1.0 experienced owners or not.
#1. Can the firmware of version 2.0 and 3.0 be reduced to flash version 1.0?
#2. When diagnosing the blinking power light issue by connecting directly to the router and the network card using "ping -t 192.168.1.xxx" which network address do I use, 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2 to 2xx?
I get a reply using 192.168.1.1 but I'm not sure that works when using the TFTP Utility if it's the wrong address on my Laptop to ping?
I have a Linksys WRT54GS vers 7.2 Router on an iMac OS X Leopard. The other day I was in the middle of downloading an upgrade for the router when Firefox gave me this message: "Firefox can't find the server". I was no longer able to access the internet, and the router's green power light was left flashing. It flashed for over 24 hours. I tried unplugging the router and shutting down the computer, then plugging in the router and turning on the computer. (I don't have a modem.) The light was still flashing. I tried pressing the logo button for 5 seconds. Still flashing. Tried pressing the reset button in the back. Still flashing. 'I can't get on the internet or into the router. Linksys live chat gave me a link to "Upgrading the router’s firmware using the TFTP utility", which involves a download, but I can't download anything because I can't access the internet.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've seen related to flashing power lights on the router involve fixes via firmware upgrades off a PC.I'm on an iMac os 10.6.7. The WRT54 used to work as a wireless modem a couple of years ago. Tonight, it doesn't. power light blinks. Can't access any webpage interface for the thing. Reset, power down, computer restart, cable modem turn off don't change anything. Is there anything that can be done other than tossing the linksys? If that is the only option, are there wireless routers more suitable for a Mac?

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I just noticed on my Cable modem the link light is blinking orange, per Motorola if its blinking orange - Computer is connected via a 10 mbps or 100 mbps Ethernet port.
On the Linksys E4200 status page it says
Internet Port Speed:
Internet 10/100 mbps
Local Port Speed Port 1 - 1Gbps
Maybe I just noticed this with this router, but I'm pretty sure this didn't start happening until I updated to 1.0.03.
Previously the link light was blue indicating a 1Gbps connection.
My wireless router is WRT54GC ver2.0. When I plug the power cable, all the LED light blinking including the power LED light. I try to find the firmware in the website, but here only have the version 1.0.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E2500 and recently the power led light on the back of the router started blinking. The router itself seems to be working fine. I can access the router and the router seems to be assigning the IP addresses fine. I did look up the issue on the knowledge base and tried all the solutions but the light is still blinking. Not sure what to do anymore.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the Linksys EA6500 with the latest firmware and have a question regarding the device list connection status.Currently, I am seeing devices in the list that have a connection status of live, but they are not even within my home network. What is the update/cycle time for the device list actually checking connection status of a device? In my situation, it has been 3 days (72 hours) since the two device showing as connected have not been connected to my home network/router. Noticed that this inaccurate connection status for these devices is also contributing to the Device Monitr app not showing correct device connection status info.
Would like to have real-time device connection status if possible. This device list is great way to know when device get connected or disconnected which let me know when my kids get home from school or using game console when should be doing homework.
I cannot access my Motorola SB6141 cable modem status page at 192.168.100.1 thru the EA6500 router. I can bypass the router and can connect to the status page with no problem. Is there a setting to change or can I possibly do port forwarding to access it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I just got this new WRT160Nv2 router. I have (1) wired computer and then my laptop running wireless to it. For the first couple days I had some issues getting consistant internet but after reading some stuff on here I downgraded to the version 8 hardware and it worked GREAT for about 3 days. Now my power light won't stop flashing and I have NO internet connection at all through the router. I have tried to reset the router by holding down the button and also unpluging it but still nothing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with RV042. My ISP gives me automaticly IP address and i had no problems using different types of routers, including linksys routers. With RV042 i just can't get the IP. It says, the port is up, i see the packets/traffic, front control light is blinking but it never receives the dhcp settings, doesn't matter if i use wan1, wan2, dual wan mode or single wan. I have the newest firmare 1.3.12.19tm. System statistics says "disconnected" but the packets come in and go out. Log shows absolutely nothing. I also disabled firewall but it didn't work. View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday I bought the Linksys Wireless-N Home ADSL2+ Modem Router WAG120N (Annex-A version). I configured the modem/router and it was working very well. Today I was surfing the internet just fine and I left my computer for a few minutes, when I came back I noticed that there is no internet connection. The internet light on the modem was no longer on, and the DSL one was blinking. I turned off the device and then turned it back on but the issue was still present. I tried restoring the factory default settings and configuring the modem again but nothing seems to work (resetting the modem, turning off every device connected to it and restarting the modem/router). The DSL light keeps blinking, turns off for a couple seconds and then starts blinking again. The internet light only appears when I restart the modem and it flashes red just after turning the device on.

I previously asked if I should be concerned that the Internet light on my Linksys E3000 router doesn't light up when I have Internet access. Well recently I had to do a reset and I noticed that during the reset it does in fact light up, but it doesn't come on when the router is done with the reset!

I had Purchased a brand new TP-Link WifI Modem Router TD-W8961ND with S/N : 12CB5200872 from [URL] and it got delivered few days back. When I am trying to connect it to the internet the modem is not getting connected nor configured. The Power button light, ADSL Light and internet light are continuously blinking and nothing is getting steady. The modem is appearing to be a damaged piece of modem and it is very unfortunate that we have got a modem from flipkart in an unserviceable condition. It came with a warranty of 03 years and I wanted a replacement so that I can use the modem for connecting internet.

View 11 Replies View RelatedWe have a root AP whose status light is showing solid red. We power cycled it and it still shows solid red. According to the Cisco documentation, this indicates a firmware failure. Unfortunately, we did not get Smartnet with this access points and instead opted for the limited lifetime warranty.
My question is: is there any way to fix the firmware via console? Whether it be through xmodem or what not. I ran debugs on the controller and can confirm that the AP is not communcating with the controller.
It is also weird that the mesh APs that were previously connected to this root AP show a solid red on their status lights and green for their RF LEDs. Shouldn't the status LED be flashing green-amber-red?
