I have been having problems with my internet connections so I was trying to uninstall my router to re-install my router. Unfortunately, I put my set up disc in and clicked on the start button and get a message that the driver is already installed and I must uninstall the driver - I can't find the driver to uninstall as the program is out of my uninstall menu.

Following the directions of a Dell technician while trying to resolve a separate problem, I deleted the partitions on my hard drive and manually reinstalled both Vista and all the drivers that were on the Dell CD that came with my laptop. When I tried connecting to the internet, Vista said I did not have any wireless networking hardware, but before the reinstallation it worked just fine. I am able to connect to the internet using a wired connection, but my wireless adapter still isn't working. I use Windows Vista 32-bit SP1

But when it had finished, I realised I couldn't connect to the Internet, so I got my old laptop, entered in my service tag, and downloaded the 3 network drivers listed. Stuck them on a USB stick, copied them onto the newly restored laptop, installed them, restarted. And it still wasn't working, to my dismay.
I have a Dell Inspiron 14z 5423 ultrabook.
I only need to connect to the Internet, I can let the online thing do the rest, I just need to connect to the Internet to do so.
I am looking for WRT54G v7 Windows 7 Drivers. I can seem to find it. If there is no update yet, need drivers for Windows Vista 32 instead.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI had an antenna break on a WMP54g v 4.1 and I was able to replace it with a WMP54g v 4 but I'm not having a lot of luck getting the driver to install. This is on Win7 32 bit Home Premium. I assume this is due to the fact that I was using a newer and switched to an older piece of hardware and there is some driver issues. How to uninstall the old driver completely so I can start fresh I have tried everything I know to do and can't seem to get anywhere.

That old router is a knock-off,no-name router brand called "Gigafast" and the model number is WF19-CAPR. There are also variants to that router name as well.The router that I currently have is a Linksys WRT54G wireless-G router. I'm planning to upgrade the wireless router in favor of Wireless-N in the near future.I want to know how can I use that particular Gigafast router as a switch and I want to link that router up to my WRT54G router. Cable internet connection ----> WRT54G router ---> Gigafast router (as a switch)
The IP address for the WRT54G router is 192.168.1.1, while the Gigafast router is 192.168.1.254. I may know by now that I have to disable DHCP on the gigafast router and I have to change an IP address to something that is "not in range" with the WRT54G router, am I right?I want to expand the number of ports, so I can connect with future devices such as a VoIP ATA adapter, a laptop and possibly an entertainment box (i.e. Apple TV or Boxee box)

PC is running Windows/XP sp3 with all updates installed. It has no wireless adapter.WRT54G model number sticker shows ver.2. I don't think the firmware has ever been upgraded.This used to work. What has changed? The laptop that used to connect wireless is dead. I now have a 2nd PC that sits on the same table as the old PC. It has no wireless adapter at this point, but eventually either it, or the old computer, will be getting its internet connection wireless-ly, as the computers will be physically in separate rooms. I can't see how these changes would affect the operation of the router.
I have a WRT54G router that's worked for a very long time. I had WEP security set up and it worked fine until recently. About a week ago my three year old son managed to reset the router (I'm still not sure how). When I go onto the web-based setup page I am unable to change the wireless security setting. View 7 Replies View RelatedSituation: I have one Internet connection and I have need of two networks. One filtered with OpenDNS and the other unfiltered. I have a Speedstream DSL router provided by ISP for connecting to Internet. I have two WRT54G's and would like to utilize them to form two networks. The Speedstream is a router with a gateway address of 192.168.1.254.
From that Speedstream (only one network plug) I would like to go to a 5port switch. From that switch, I would like to configure the two WRT's to be two different networks (one using OpenDNS settings for filtering) with one having a 192.168.1.x address scheme and the other (no Internet filtering) having a 192.168.10.x scheme. Both would have DHCP enabled for their networks and the Speedstream would have DHCP disabled. There is not a need (at this point) to have the networks communicate.
Ive had a WRT54G v5 for awhile now. And just recently I went out of town and had turn off my router. When coming back and turning everything back on for some reason both wired and wireless components both have a connection then it loses the connection for awhile and comes back on. Ive power cycled both the router and modem. Called my provider and they said it was my router after doing some diagnostic tests. I tried to update the firmware and ive tried to restore to factory settings. Still it has a connection then it loses it.. Ive noticed on the modem when its not working that only the SENT light is flashing. (modem has power,received,sent, cable,pc). It is on AUTO DHCP and gets a ip and everything.

I have tried to reset the router to factory defaults without any luck. I have tried regular reset method and 30/30/30 and still it is holding on to the custom settings. Here is what I know:
1. The router can be pinged without any errors.
2. The logon screen comes up requesting username and password. I have tried all of the default inputs (blank/admin, admin/admin).
3. The wireless is working and the SSID is Linksysxx.
4. I tried the following:at the DOS prompt typed cd then, TFTP -i 192.168.1.1 PUT (my fw).binunplugged the router, plugged in and hit "Enter"After about 15 seconds I got the error message, "Invalid Password". I tried this again and got the same results.I know the router is working, but I can not get it for go back to factory settings.
Two days ago I was able to type this in my browzer (Safari, Macintosh) and open the page. Now for two days I have tried this again and get a massage that the server at this location (192.168.1.1 ) is not responding. How can I get onto this page. I need to change the settings on my WRT54G V8.
