View 9 RepliesI have been having problems with my internet connections so I was trying to uninstall my router to re-install my router. Unfortunately, I put my set up disc in and clicked on the start button and get a message that the driver is already installed and I must uninstall the driver - I can't find the driver to uninstall as the program is out of my uninstall menu.
View 1 Replies View RelatedStarted a fresh installation on windows 7 RC 64 bit popped in adapter, and tried installing disk, disk would get the portion where it asked to input the adapter, then just vanish after i click next. I restarted, nothing. I clicked set up again, says drivers are already installed....though there is no app to show profiles, im guessing it isn't.

version 1.00 would work just like the disk. version 2.00 would not start at all and would give an "the application was unable to start correctly (0x0000005).."
will my linksys wrt54g v8 work with windows 7 with a 64 bit. are there drivers available?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT54G router and for some reason I'm unable to receive the media stream at my home, but when I connected to my friends N-type router it works fine. I have no other connectivity issues. The only thing that I remember doing that may have caused this was to upgrade my firmware because my droid phone wouldn't connect.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have a (relatively) old WMP54GX PCI adapter that used to work great under XP. However I moved and was able to put my computer right next to my router so I no longer needed to use the adapter. Fast forward about three years later, I now have Windows 7 installed and need to use to adapter again, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working. The drivers never seem to finish installing after reboot, and I'm not sure what I should be doing. I noticed the most "recent" driver was released in 2006, so it doesn't look like there's even one available for Vista, let alone Windows 7.
Am I looking in the wrong place for the drivers, or is Linksys really not supporting their slightly older hardware on new operating systems? If there are no drivers available, any ways to get it working in Windows 7?
who had a WMP300N with the Broadcom 4329 chip (PCIVEN_14E4&DEV_4329&SUBSYS_00601737&REV_01)Since i got my WMP300N all that i got is a really a big headache, since the drivers DOESN'T are meant for Win 7 (x86/x64), and the guys at Cisco/Linksys really are so kind to bring an unstable driver (v6.100) that they claim is for win 7.
i, as same as a ton of users, really get dissapointed because the driver in the cd does not work on win 7 and the 'official updated driver' is useless as well, and in the end lost a lot of time searching almost in the entire internet for a solution, that some pages claim to have, but the info is oudated, or the links are gone.so in a insurmountable-almost-titanic search, i somehow managed to gather all the required files that i'll put at disposition of those like me have a bad time with a supposed to be a pretty good wireless card.
1- bmc 4329 v4.100, this one is the most 'stable' and works pretty well in 32/64bits, it had a modded .inf wich enables a few features that various users will find pretty useful, when the installer prompts a warning about an unsigned driver, you had to allow the installation
2- bmc 4329 5.100, this one is working too on 32/64 bits, i'm posting it because some people got problems with the 4.100 version, however, the 5.100 is a stock unmodded driver, so maybe it will give connection issues.
I cant install drivers for Windovs XP both 32-64 Professional. Original CD tells me for x64 OS is not supported, also, when trying to install only drivers it just can't find it. For x32 same problem - can't install drivers. I've got Intel DP45SG.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just bought a WMP600N adaptor and although windows 7 recognizes it I would like to install the official drivers from Linksys. When I try to update the drivers that I downloaded from the linksys website I het an access denied error. I am logged in as the administrator. I have already tried uninstalling the default drivers, but still I get the access denied error. I even tried the windows safe mode and still got the access denied error.
With the default windows 7 drivers the connection is quite poor. how I can install the official windows 7 drivers?
I have a Sony Vaio laptop which has an Atheros AR9285 wireless network adapter. My router is LinkSys WRT54G. I have configured this router with an SSID and encrypted using WEP.I created a network using 192.168.1.1, saved the configuration and then exited out. This creates a network that Windows "sees" in the list of available networks. However, for reasons I cannot figure out when I shut off my Vaio (I thought it happened when I powered down my router) why my available network does not "see" the network I just created.Under "manage wireless networks" I can see my network, but on the list of available networks it is not there. I then reconfigure the router and the network shows up. I at first thought it was a router configuration problem, but it now appears to happen when I shut off the PC - almost like I am not saving my configuration somewhere
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just recently upgraded my OS from Win XP 32 bit to Win 8 64 bit. I am trying to get everything in order and most of the drivers are now working (CCC for my graphics card, driver for my Striker). However, I am having difficulty locating the driver for 64 bit windows for my Linksys adapter.
For the moment I am running wifi by using my old XP setup (which is the only way I can post on [H]). :P

View 1 Replies View RelatedHere's what I have so far which involves 3 computers:
PC1 has : Window XP w/ Linksys WRT54G w/ Linksys software installed
PC2 has : Windows 7 connected to router via cable
PC3 has : Windows XP connected to router via wireless
My goal is to make my new Windows 7 (PC2) the primary computer just like a server which handles the router and other stuff like printers, scanners, etc. I want to swap the Linksys WRT54G on PC1 to be on the new PC2 (Windows 7) so that the router can be configured and monitored on that machine.
My guess is that I just simply install the Linksys WRT54G's software to PC2 and make the necessary settings just like the XP machine (PC1) and I'm done. Do I need to UNinstall the router's software on the PC1 (XP) machine first? Do I disconnect my internet connection on my PC1 machine?....or do it really matter?
I haven't been able to find any Windows 7 compatible drivers anywhere for the CB21AG card and there seems to be nothing on the Cisco site. These drivers required, when they might be released?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently updated to Windows 8, and before updating, Windows 8 setup recognized the drivers for my Belkin G Desktop wireless card. After installation, my system was able to connect to my wi-fi network without any problem. However, due to the power going off at my home, an automatic update on Windows 8 got interrupted.
Since then, it has caused a ton of problems, which caused me to finally re-install Windows 8. Now, however, it does not recognize the wireless card and its drivers, and does not let me install from the CD, or through any alternate sources ?

I'm looking to upgrade my WRT54G as I have had NO luck in getting my Galaxy Tab to connect through it so far (can connect and get an IP address but can't get out to the web) and have had intermittent problems with my Blu-ray lately. I am looking for something with the best affordable range, live 3 floors down from the current one and get about 3/4 signal strength so there's not much interference it seems. I watch a lot of online content through Hulu, Netflix, and LMB games and share with 2 other people.I am looking at the E series, probably the E1200, 1500 or 1550 as they seem to meet my needs. Any users have any advice about the ease of install and use of either of these? Or would it be better to get a gateway as we are considering going from DSL to U-verse service, twice the speed for $2/month more

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an old wireless router lying behind me and I want to use that old router as a switch. That old router is a knock-off,no-name router brand called "Gigafast" and the model number is WF19-CAPR. There are also variants to that router name as well. The router that I currently have is a Linksys WRT54G wireless-G router. I'm planning to upgrade the wireless router in favor of Wireless-N in the near future.I want to know how can I use that particular Gigafast router as a switch and I want to link that router up to my WRT54G router. The scenario goes as follows:
Cable internet connection ----> WRT54G router ---> Gigafast router (as a switch)
The IP address for the WRT54G router is 192.168.1.1, while the Gigafast router is 192.168.1.254. I may know by now that I have to disable DHCP on the gigafast router and I have to change an IP address to something that is "not in range" with the WRT54G router, am I right?I want to expand the number of ports, so I can connect with future devices such as a VoIP ATA adapter, a laptop and possibly an entertainment box (i.e. Apple TV or Boxee box)
I have lost the start-up cd for my router, where to find a downloadable one so i can hook up my router.
