Linksys Wireless Router :: Compatibility Of E4200 With Aztech Homeplug HL106E?

Sep 18, 2012

I just got E4200 and it seems my homeplug is not able to connect to router. I don't see it listed in DHCP Table under status. I could only see my Desktop was connected. Are these two not compatible? Homeplug works fine my old router which is  Trendnet TEW-452BRP.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 V1 Lost Usb Printer Compatibility Overnight

Jan 19, 2013

I have been successfully printing to my HP 8250 printer USB connected to my e4200 router for nearly a year from my xp ethernet pc and 2 windows 7 wireless laptops.  Today nothing could print to it and when I deleted and tried to reinstall using cisco connect it tells me I am trying to connect an unsupported device both on ethernet XP PC and wireless windows 7 laptop.  I have installed no new software or drivers this year.  I have had to regress to attaching the printer back to the XP PC and sharing it which obviously means the PC now needs to be switched on to print.

Aztech DSL1000EW Router / Modem - Internet Stops Working?

Sep 4, 2011

Basically, my internet's been fine until about a week ago. I'm currently using the Aztech DSL1000EW router/modem which has been working great up to now. My problem is this: after about 5-30 minutes (time fluctuates, annoying because after 15 minutes of continuous usage you think the problem's solved!) all webpages suddenly become 'unavailable'. I've disabled proxies under LAN settings, tried flushing DNS, resetting winsock with the netsh commands but to no avail. To get the internet to work again, I can just go to my router page, click disconnect and reconnect and it'll work for another 5-30 minutes.

D-Link Powerline Homeplug 501AV / Configuring Two Router To Work?

Dec 6, 2012

I have the following network setup. I have a dynamic IP address from my ISP. I connect my fiber to a D-Link DIR-645 and set up my wireless network. The coverage is kind of poor in my son's room so I use a D-Link Powerline Homeplug 501AV to extend internet to my son's room. I connect one Homeplug to the DIR-645 and set the other Homeplug in the power outlet in my son's room. It works if I connect his PC or Xbox via an ethernet cable to the Homeplug in his room. Since he has both PC and XBox I have connected a D-LINK DIR-100 to the Homeplug and have two ethernet cables connecting to his PC and Xbox. Here is the problem. I don't get an internet connection to the DIR-100.How shall I configure the two routers to work?

Home Network Very Slow - Using Spare ADSL Router And Homeplug Networking?

Apr 17, 2013

Today I set up a home network:Cable router plugged in to......Homeplug network, (D-Link DHP-307AV/B 200 MBPS PowerLine Homeplugs) plugged in to a LAN port of......a spare adsl router configured as per here: Connecting Additional Routers | Tech Support Forum...with two desktop machines plugged into the LAN ports of the ADSL router. Both of the desktops have got similar specs, are equi-distant from the ADSL router, and are both connected using Ethernet, not wireless. One of them gets a 9MB/sec ADSL [URL]download, the other can't even bring the webpage up and times out if you ask Google to do a search.Taking out the adsl router and plugging the desktop straight into the homeplug gets a network speed of ~13MB/sec on [URL].Plugging a computer directly into the cable modem gives network speeds of ~40MB/sec on [URL] How can I improve on this, and have it so that both machines can access the Interwebnet at a decent bandwidth?

Aztech Wireless-N WL522USB - Cannot Maintain Connection

Oct 10, 2011

can't figure out what's killing my desktop's connection.I'm running Windows 6 Ultimate x64. I was using an Aztech Wireless-N WL522USB adaptor before, and it was working perfectly fine apart from the fact that it was a tad slow, which led me to buy a new Linksys AE1000 adaptor.I'm guessing I caused some kind of conflict, because after an hour or two of use (and after installation of the drivers), I started getting DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSODs, as well as my connection dying on me. I did not uninstall the drivers for the Aztech adaptor before installing the new one, and I have a feeling this might have something to do with it. Anyway, right now, I've switched back to the Aztech (intend to return the Linksys), and I'm still having connection problems. The tooltip of the wireless icon on the toolbar shows "No Network Access", while clicking on it shows "Limited Access". I have neither internet access nor local access to the router. The weird thing is that it works for a VERY short period of time after starting up, where I will have full internet access, and after which it will revert to the Limited Access state.

Linksys Wired Router :: BEFSR41 V2.1 And Windows 7 / Vista Compatibility

Mar 18, 2010

I have a wired BEFSR41 V2.1 with 1.46.02 firmware.  It has been working fine with several varieties of W98SE, W2000, and XP machines over the years. When I installed VMWare a couple years ago, I noticed that the Vista VM didn't connect to the router. Since I was just testing some local stuff, I didn't bother to investigate or resolve the problem. Now I have a new HP Windows 7 machine, and it doesn't connect when connected to the router.  The diagnostic doesn't think the cable is plugged in. When I plug the DSL modem directly into the W7 box, I can connect to the internet just fine.  Also, I notice that when I plug the modem into the W7 box, there are some LEDs that flash on the network card inside the box.

However, when I plug the cable from the router (the same one that normally works fine with the XP machine) into the Windows 7 box, none of the LEDs on the network card flash.  This is probably a hint that things aren't working.

I tried disabling the IPv6 protocol.  That didn't work.  I have the latest firmware for the V2.1 according to the Linksys support site. I tried a different cable.  I tried several resets from the pinhole in the front of the router, several power cycles, and reboots of the W7 box.So I'm guessing that the BEFSR41 V2.1 with 1.46.02 is incompatible with Vista and Windows 7.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WUSB54G Compatibility With Windows 7?

Oct 23, 2009

I've noticed that my WUSB54GSC is completely unsupported by Windows 7, nor has Linksys published any new drivers.  From browsing these forums and the internet, many other Linksys users are experiencing much trouble with getting their wireless adapters to work with Windows 7.So please, Cisco, publish new Windows 7 drivers...  I'm completely taken back that there is nothing to do with Windows 7 anywhere on your site, and disappointed at none of your products being ready for the new Operating System.  Im stuck with a useless router.  I've tried for hours and hours to try random fixes i found on the internet, force install drivers preloaded on Windows 7, and force install the out of date Linksys drivers....to no avail.  I still need to activate my Windows 7 online, and i can't activate it if my wireless adapter doesn't work.  I will keep this in mind when i purchase routers/adapters in the future.   I've already tried using the ra-link drivers to get my adapter working, but every time i get a "code 10" error stating that "This device cannot start".  Any driver that i do install from Windows 7 pre loaded drivers ends up giving me that error.  And all the out-of-date linksys drivers don't even successfully install the drivers...

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Not Getting IP Address?

Dec 21, 2011

I have a 6 month old Cisco e-4200 router that is updated to the latest firmware, connected to a Motorola surfboard modem on Sudden-link in Midland, TX.

I previously used this exact same setup on Cox Cable in Wichita, KS with no problems. Upon setting it up down here I cannot get the router to pickup an IP address. I have Power-cycled everything multiple times, did a complete reset and re-installation of the router software and still no luck. The Sudden-link techs have no idea what is wrong. They said that the modems signal is strong and everything should be working.

Actually I did get it to work once for a couple of days, however when redoing the surround sound system I had to unhook the cable line and it quit working and I haven't gotten it to work again since. I have tried unhooking everything. Turning it all off. Waiting for 5+minutes, and then reconnecting in order: First the modem, then an ethernet cable to the computer which will usually work. But as soon as I unplug the cable from the computer and plug it into the router it stops working.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 V1 Tops Off At 144+450 Not 300+450

Dec 21, 2011

I just received by replacement e4200 v1. I updated the firmware to 1.0.03 build 14 and am up and running just fine. The specs say e4200 should be 300+450Mbps. I am using a software "inSSider 2.0" to view my wireless setup. I get 144(N) at 2.4GHz and 450(N) at 5.2GHz. Please  note these are max bit rates and not connect speed or throughput rate. The "inSSider" software gives me the following:

2.4GHz - 1/2/5.5/6/7/9/11/12/14/18/22/124/28/29/36/43/44/48/54/58/65/72/86/116/130/144

5.2GHz - 6/9/12/15/18/24/30/36/45/48/54/60/90/120/135/150/180/240/270/300/360/405/450

I get this information by hovering on the max bit rate field on the row displaying my SSID. So is it correct to say that my e4200 is not designed to reach 300Mbps at 2.4GHz. There is an earlier discussion thread about connection maxing out 144. Please note I am not talking about connect speed or thru-put speed. Max design bit rates of dual band router labeled e4200.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Turn Off ULA On E4200 1.0.03?

Oct 8, 2011

Firmware 1.0.00 on my E4200 Hardware v1.0 provided a functioning 6to4 tunnel through Comcast's 6to4 facility. Windows and Linux clients on my local network discovered IPv6 addresses and were able to use them successfully.Unfortunately, after the upgrade to 1.0.03 this functionality was gone. I missed reading the ChangeLog, which said that the automatic tunneling feature was removed in 1.0.01. The now provided IPv6 functionality works much less well. First, automatic configuration (discovery of the 6to4 via IPv4 anycast) no longer works with Comcast's gateway. If I configure the tunnel manually, by specifying a 2002/16 prefix, I regain IPv6 connectivity, but only for Linux clients on my local network.

Windows 7 clients suffer from the problem that because the E4200 hands out ULA addresses, they end up preferring those ULA addresses when making global IPv6 connections in the IP 'source' field, which of course does not work. It's like putting your company mailbox code as the return address on a letter you send via US Mail. Other home routers, such as the AVM Fritz! (url,...) suffer from the same problem. However, they provide an option to turn off ULA at the router. Is it possible to turn off ULA for the E4200?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Cannot Access FTP

Nov 15, 2012

I've been trying to get FTP Running up on my router for some time now.

I know my current WAN address and have setup a specified folder on my E4200 for the FTP partition. A username for myself has been created with login info and I have forwarded the port I have specified on my router's FTP configuration page.

I try to log into the server, but whenever I try to log into it, I keep getting a "incorrect login information" message back at me.

If I cancel out of that then I get an error message saying it can't find the specified folder and to check the address of the server.

I know the login information information is correct and I've tried changing the password to others of varying lengths.

I've also tried changing the port I'm running the FTP off of incase my ISP has blocked that port, nothing works.
