Linksys E1000 Internet Explorer Can't Display Web Page
Jun 12, 2011
I received a new hp laptop from a friend with a cisco linksys e1000 router. The first time I hooked it up it got online and worked great. I downloaded some updates for windows and restated the laptop for them to take effect and now it won't get back online for anything. I even restored the computer to the previous settings. All I get is the error message "Internet Explorer can not display the web page. I am running windows 7 ultimate.

This issue just started happening. I have a Sierra Wireless Aircard 595 plugged into a WRT54G3G-ST. I will be browsing the internet and all of a sudden, I get the message that Internet Explorer cannot find the web page. At that point, I cannot get to any website. I have several PC's, both wired and wireless connected and they all have the same problem,. I have tried Google Chrome, Firefox and IE9 and all browsers have the same issue. My email continues to download through Outlook, I can use WS FTP and I can also log in to a remote computer using Logmein. It is just browser access that is affected.
There is no set time table to the error. Sometimes it happens within minutes, sometimes it is 30 minutes and sometimes it is over an hour. The only way out of it is to either unplug the router, let it set 30 seconds, then plug it back in or I found that I can go into the setup and do a disconnect from mobile broadband and reconnect and it starts working again. Of course, Sprint says they do not deal with issues unless the card is plugged directly into my PC, which is not the environment that I am running in (even though I bought the router and card from them.) Does Linksys still make a mobile broadband router?

I am getting the error message "internet explorer cannot display the webpage", my computer tells me i am connected to my wireless and that internet is available but it will not open any webpages, no matter which browser i try. I have disabled all firewalls and run diagnostics but it just tells me there is a problem with my router, despite the connection being perfect for other devices. My computer is relatively new and i'm sure its not a virus as i have run different anti-virus and malware softwares.

I connected to a hotspot that is available for Me to connect to. I connected to one, then I went to the little bars to make sure it's actually connected, It says "Internet Access" (Windows 7) Which means it's connected. Then I clicked on Internet Explorer, to go on the Internet, and It says.. "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" Then I clicked on "Diagnose Connection problem" It started to detect the problem.. When it was finished it said.. "Website (Yahoo!) is online but isn't responding to connection attempts."
I went to Tools, Internet Options, LAN Settings, and I checked the First two boxes. Where it says "Address" I put in [URL]then I went back, and went on the Internet but It still says ---"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" Then I went back to Tools, Internet Options, and took off [URL]then tried again, then I went back to the Internet but it still said the same thing saying-----"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" Then I clicked on "Diagnose Connection problem" and it ---started detecting the problem.. and when it was finished detecting it said...---"Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings."
You only want "Automatically detect settings" checked. The second check box if for a configuration script or the like to setup IE settings. That is really only used by company's that want specific home pages and other settings set to match their networks. If anything is checking in the "Proxy Server" area, I would uncheck it as you won't go through a proxy since you are connecting to a hotspot. It is pretty rare for public locations to use proxy servers.I connected to a hotspot that is available for Me to connect to. I connected to one, then I went to the little bars to make sure it's actually connected, It says "Internet Access" (Windows7) Which means it's connected. Then I clicked on Internet Explorer, to go on the Internet, and It says.. We have a ACE 4710 with a basic config, When clicking on a tab from a window within Interent explorer we occasionally get an issue with it returning: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" The details show "Access is denied" accessing a particular line of a java script file.
We have put one web server out of service in the farm to make sure that this isn't a result of stickyness not quite working. We have tested extensively by going directly to the web server directly without the load balancer and cannot reproduce the problem but we can produce the issue within a few minutes when going to the load balanced address. I suddenly can't connect to the internet using IE or Firefox every time I try I get the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". My connection on my wireless picks up great and shows signal strength as excellent. I took it to a place that was offering free check ups and they said that I caught a virus which I never seen any sign of catching a virus when it worked and that it had wiped out one of my hard drives and they could fix it for $229.00. I don't have that kind of money so I don't know what to do.

I installed a new Media link MWN-WAPR150N router and I can connect two laptops and an i Pad wireless but when I try to access the Internet through a Dell Dimension 4550 desktop which is directly connected to the router, I get the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." I have tried unplugging the cable modem and router, downloading network drivers, repairing the connection, ip config /release and /renew, etc. and nothing has worked. The connection status shows as connected. I can ping the router successfully, but I can't ping a web site.

I can not connect to the internet, even though it says that Im connected. What happens is when I boot up I will get internet access for about 2-3 minutes or enough togo to about a couple web pages and then connectivity will drop and I'll get the yellow triangle with an exclamation point on my network icon. The error traingle will go away after a few minutesand say I have connection again but when I go to a site I'll get "Can not display page" error. Things Ive tried was restarting the modem and router(it cant be a problem with either of them because I have another computer hooked up to the router and I have internet access on my other computer). Ive tried resetting winsock and renewed ip, no luck. Ive tried reinstalling Windows 7 64bit then also 32 bit. Thought maybe it could be a problem with the 64 bit. Ive gotten rid of my Nortons(read that could be a problem) so I uninstalled it. Ive tried unchecking Ipv6(or whatever it is) didnt work. I looked for Bonjour file in my services, didnt have it. I even bought a new NIC and my computer recognizes it but it doesnt work either. Drivers are all up to date, so says my computer when I tried to update them.

I have an ASA5510 that I am trying to set up for remote access using SSL VPN & clientless SSL VPN. I have followed the config guides on the Cisco website as well as the config guides elsewhere on the internet to no avail. I have a TAC case opened and have spoken with 4 engineers thus far. I have tried several software versions on the device and they all give the same result. When going to https://(outside interface ip address), I receive the expected ssl certificate error, then I click to continue to the website, and the browser never loads a page. I can see the ssl negotiation in my debug, and it completes that portion. My http debug shows the get requests to https://(outside interface ip address)/+CSCOE+/index.html and/or logon.html, but the page never loads.

My modem CAN connect to the Internet but my router CANNOT. I've called my ISP (Brighthouse) and went through a whole process of bypassing the router, restarting the modem for 2 minutes, and restarting the router for 30 seconds. Then I even got assistance from the router's maker (Linksys) by switching the IP address of the router, they said this could be the issue if my modem had the same IP address. I switched it to 192.168.2.1, but still no luck. I do not know what to do now. The new router is a Linksys E1000. I haven't got the specs of my modem yet.

my brand new Linksys E1000 wireless router. I am really struggling and cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.
I live in The Netherlands, have a modem (DSL I think...) and can connect wired through the modem with no problems.
I installed the E1000 with the CD, followed all the steps and my laptop is finding the network. However, it's only local, no internet and I don't understand why. Have tried to connect (wired) my computer to the E1000 and the E1000 to the modem but that doesn't work either.

Just got the new Linksys E1000, and follow the Cisco Connect to setup. No IP received from the service provider (which is Fibre-to-the-building, no modem is required). Goto the setup page and confirmed that the connection type is "DHCP".Once i unplug the cable from E1000 (internet port) and plug into my old wireless router, everything work nicely. The internet connection & cable itself seems fine. Switch the cable into notebook, and get the IP as well, it seems the service provider didn't lock the mac address of the devices (routuer nor PC). Cloned the mac address but nothing improved.Tried release the IP before unplug from the old router, switch off old router, and wait 10mins before connected to E1000 but still no luck.

Every two or three days I'm unable to reconnect to my wifi network when I turn on my Windows 7 laptop or Android tablet. I have to power cycle the wifi router to get the connection again. This usually happens after I haven't used either device for a day or two. The connection usually does not drop when I'm using them. Restarting the computer or the tablet does not work and using the Windows troubleshooter (or the android app for wifi issues on the tablet) also doesn't work. Both computer and tablet recognize the network and say the signal is strong but won’t connect to it. There are no physical obstructions. I have no problem with my internet connection (cable modem). The problem really seems to be with the wifi router.
Model name: Linksys E1000
Model number: E1000
Firmware version: 2.1.02 build 5
Operating system: Windows 7 SP 1
Software version: 1.3.11069.2
Connection type (WAN): DHCP

I have a Linksys E1000 device that is connected to a DSL connection through a modem. I have a Laptop that is wirelessly connected to the router and a PC that is connected via cable. Lately, a problem started to occur where the router keeps losing the internet connection and Laptop tell me that it connected to the router but there in no internet access and the same thing happens to the PC, both disconnect at the same time. I called my ISP company when this happens and they told me that the connection is working fine and everything look ok from there. I connected my PC directly to the modem and it worked fine so problem is not from modem. When i go to the router settings at the moment this occurs, it shows that all IPs are 00000 and status is "Connecting" and then it connects and changes to "connected" and everything fine till like 15 minutes later where this happens again (sometimes, it actually disconnects again after like 15 seconds!). I took the router to the dealer and he examined it and told me there is nothing wrong but he updated the firmware and told me to try it but same thing so he exchanged it for a new one and problem is still there!

Initially it will show that I have internet access but not work, then after about 1-2 minutes my PCs will show "No Internet access" for about 2-3 minutes, then it will show "Internet Acess" again and still not load. After that, in about 1-3 minutes the internet will start working and work as good as ever until I disconnect (manually or by turning off my computer) then connect again; the process described avove happens again.

I recently bought a new router but I'm having issues with it. We have 2 Laptops in our house and 1 (windows 7) can connect to the router and get internet access but the other (windows vista) can't it says that the Cisco router is not connected to the internet but it is. I've tried everything, resetting, reprogramming, etc. I recently found that the windows 7 one had the software installed and the windows vista didn't. What I need is to get that software but I need to know which version to get. How do I know which version of the software goes with my computer?
