My Laptop Is Not Getting On Net

my laptop is not getting on the net.I think it is something from the services folder, I need to know what settings are for the internet, I know the TCIP ones are, but what should the settings be on them and what else should I select to start if disabled.. All my computer does is search for to initialise the internet connection. It has gone on for hours..If it is a registry key I need to change, which one? I know it is not a virus etc because I scanned the system today.

I have a linksys system WRT54G at home. I had no problems with the Linksys router until about a month ago when I decided to make it a secure network. I run three computers of the wireless router (1 desktp and 2 laptops) Since making the wireless network secure I can not connect with my business laptop IBM Thinkpad X40, but thother e computers work just fine.

I'm an experienced user with pcs but an absolute newbie with networking, so apologies if this is in the wrong section. I've moved into a new house that has a wireless widi (sp?) that my flatmate uses to play videos from his laptop on the tv. I asked if he still has the software he installed when he got it but he doesn't, and the software i've tried installing from searching the web hasn't worked. What should i do?

I got a HP Pro laptop connected to the network through the Lan. It keeps on disconnecting from the network then am forced to restart the the laptop so that it can connect again. it uses windows 7.

What the problem that whenever I try to connect to the internet it will forever say "identifying" and never get internet access. It is the same problem with both wireless connections and when I have an Ethernet cable plugged in. I'm sure its not the internet that's the problem because I am using the same connection right now but with a different laptop.

I have Virgin at home and my desktop computer is connected up to the wireless router and so was my laptop and my mobile phone. A friend came over and I entered the code onto his phone for him also to connect up wirelessly when he is in my home and since then I cannot get the laptop to connect again.I have turned the router off and waited a while and turned it back on again numerous times and everything works except my laptop. I have tried to set up a new wireless connection but it doesn't let me and just opens the current one that says that the signal is excellent but when I click connect it says it can't.

I've got a Synology DS211+ Nas drive attached to an airport extreme via ethernet. My imac picks up teh NAS fine as a shared drive, but I have a laptop running XP which hooks up to the router (for the internet), but the NAS doesn't show up anywhere on the laptop. I've looked under network places, but nowt. What am I doing wrong or what do I need to do for it to show up.

I want to use two different networks in my laptop. When I go to my head office every ip and dns server is automatic (that where I work) but when I go to one of our branches they have manual ip. These days for some reason I have to more often stay in my branches. So when I come back again to my workplace it's not working as it's manual with different gateway and dns server. Even I tried "alternative configuration" in Internet properties but it's not working.

I take my laptop back and forth to work, and have mixed XP/W7 networks at both places. (the laptop is W7 Prof 64bit). Obviously, the workgroup names for the networks are different. (No homegroup for home because this is the only W7 machine on that network).In both cases, I can see some of the other computers, but not all, and they can't access me, even though we all have file sharing on.Do I need to have two different workgroups on my laptop? If so, how do I set them up? I can access both networks both wired & wireless, if that matters.

All of a sudden my laptop will not see, much less connect to any networks.I've updated, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, set BIOS to the default, turned the wireless switch on and off (FN F8 does nothing,) virus checked, trouble shot via windows, etc. I gave up and got a USB wireless dongle and it can't find any networks either! Yes, there are networks available via my router and the USB works on another machine. Both devices show up in DEVMGR with no warnings. Ethernet works fine, that's how I'm now connected.I can do a system reload but I'm hoping not to. It's gotta be software for both devices to not function.?

i tried googling but couldnt find anything use ful except for this website ( Url) when i first looked at it i was amazed tht it was sooo easy. but when i tried it it didnt work. when i tried it asked me a user name and password in the laptop but in my pc i couldn't find the laptop. I dont want any new ways to do it (unles u have an easier way than this. but with the same procedure.

how do i get a mac g3(old) to see my windows 7 system. my windows 7 can see my mac but ican not get the mac laptop to see the win 7 desktop. i need to be able to get the mac to use the win dvd drive to load mac osx(no cd/dvd drive in the mac).running mac os9.2 on mac currently, would like to upgrade, i have the mac osx disk.
