I have a Netgear N600 connected to a modem. I want to connect a switch to the Netgear N600, my question is, will multiple computers connected to the SWITCH have access to the internet?

My Dlink DIR-615 had worked flawlessly for almost 7 months now.But since last week it started showing problems.All the computers connected to LAN thru the switch could not access the Internet but the Server(192.168.0.100) which is connected to the DIR-615 could connect to the internet.the above screenshot was captured thru a laptop running Win7 Ultimate connected to the DIR-615 thru WiFi-n.Even after repeated Reloads the same error cropped up in the browsers in the computers connected thru the switch.The computers connected to the switch could access the Internet after I restarted the router.

Then I setup a new Netgear N600 wireless router, configured it, gave it a static IP, connected to it, works like a charm. Thing is, when I try to access the web gui I receive nothing.. Is the Netgear firewall taking priority or something? I went directly connected to the netgear wifi router and double checked to make sure that there was no settings restricting administration from wifi users, etc..

View 14 Replies View RelatedIm on Windows 7 Ultimate, I have Netgear N600 and a motorola and all the lights are on but when I lose connectivity to my internet, everything looks fine light wise. My whole family connects to the wireless in my house and when the internet goes down, they too, are effected. The internet would be running for a few minutes and then sadly go down for a minute then come back up. This has been happening more and more lately and its come to a point where I'm sick and tired of trying to fix it myself. Its very aggravating to be surfing the web and one point and then seeing the oh so nice "Firefox cannot connect to your internet" screen. I play World of Warcraft, as of right now, its unplayable. I'm stressing because its just a hug hassle. The Motorola and the Netgear are fairly new and I don't seem to think that would be the problem.

I just bought a new netgear n600 now it seems all my devises are slower. 2 Xbox 360s 2 laptops. 1 pc also on my dell d610 now when i try to watch any video the internet stops working. we use google chrome. I am pretty sure its the router. we use mediacom for internet and get at least 20 mbs. oh and the slowest xbox is run with a ethernet cable so its not a wifi issue with that one.

I can connect to the internet just fine directly but when I try the netgear it tells me No Internet Connection. When I go through the setup process it tells me No Ethernet Cable is Plugged Into The Router Internet Port. When I hook up my very old Cisco router the internet and Wi-fi work just fine. I have updated the drivers and have windows firewall off. This is it plugged directly in:

I have cable broadband internet. My internet modem is a Ubee D3.0. It is connected to my Netgear N600 Wifi router which have my computer and DirecTV hooked up to it via ethernet. My wifi went down the other day. Devices were connected, but were not getting any internet service. In troubleshooting, I attempted to dial in to the router using www.routerlogin.net as well as 192.168.0.1, and I could not get into the router. I assumed the router must have crashed, and I only purchased it a month ago, so I took it back to the store and exchanged it for a new one. I got home and plugged it in, still not working. I can't access it using the above mentioned methods, and the setup software does not detect a router present. I unplugged the router and hooked the computer up directly to the internet modem. Still no luck. The computer does show a network connection in the system tray, but with no internet. I plugged my laptop in to the internet modem, and I am able to get internet just fine from my laptop. I even did a system restore to a restore point last week when I know the internet was working. No luck.

I bought a new router for faster internet speed - Netgear N600. I now have internet on the two laptops, the Kindle Fire HD & my Iphone. I cannot access the internet on the desktop. It shows that I am connected to an unidentified network but I can't get online. The techs I talked to said it's a problem with my computer but I didn't have that problem before.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a home network with a Netgear N600 as my main router. I have a wirelesss HP printer that accesses fine as does Iphones and Ipad. Then I have hard wires. Off of the main router I have 3 Netgear 5 port switches. 1 switch with a line to bedroom tv and a line to family room tv. 1 Switch at family room TV which goes to Blu Ray, Direct Tv, and Xbox360. 1 switch at bedroom for Blu Ray and Direct TV. Believe it or not, this all worked. I tried to hook up a ZmodoH264 security system (the ones with four cameras, and a separate hard drive and monitor for viewing). I used one of the 4 inputs on the main Netgear router for this, and it seemed to be recognized. But, I can't access the security system mobilly, AND all my network addresses seem to have been screwed as Directv isn't working (Whole Home) and the printer stopped being recognized. However, Blu Rays are still fine. Is there a way with ipconfig to list all of my hard wired nodes? I assume wireless dont show up in a list.

1 desktop Win XP sp3 plugged into router
1 desktop Win 7 usb wireless
1 HP laptop w/ Vista
2 Dell old laptops Win XP not used much
Sony PS3 not on much
iPad2 always on
Nook Color
AND a Roku always on
I think that's all. So I'm guessing all this will slow down my whole connection? My iPad is the fastest. My Nook is extremely slow. Maybe it's the B&N website? When I go to shop and even when I registered it, it says connection having trouble. I finally had to setup my account at BN with my desktop. The Nook wouldn't stay connected.

The access is labeled as Local Only, and the network is considered unidentified. Signal strength is excellent, and it reads the name of the new wireless server I created. It prompted me to enter the passphrase, which I did, and now my laptop is stuck on local only.
I tried updating my adaptor drivers but they are all up to date, and I tried to enter my adaptor into the address reservation on the router configuration page using the laptops MAC address and IP address.
I have a router TP-Link (without wireless) connected in my modem wich have this subnet : 192.168.0.*, that work fine. But I need a wireless connection too, my wireless router had this ip given by the TP-Link router: 192.168.0.13.

I have a Netgear N600 (I'm not sure if this is the model number...) and the wireless adapter that was built into my P8Z77-V Pro is an Atheros AR9485. Everything was working fine up until last night, and now I can't seem to connect to anything for more than a couple seconds before it disconnects me again. I should also note that my phone, my iPad, my laptop, and my other PC connect just fine still.

My son just got an Asus Laptop from his school. It is running Windows 8.It connects to other peoples WIFI, just not my home WIFI.When he got it home he found the network, entered the password and nothing happened. I had to go and press the WSL button on the router. I pressed what I though was the WSL button and now my router doesn't work. I has three lights lit up, the power on light, a small green blinking light and an amber light by the number 1.I've gone to the Netgear website and they want $69 for assistance to get my router up and running. I can buy a new router for that much money. There has to be an easier way.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried using an ethernet cable (cat 6) to connect my laptop (Sony VPC-1190X) to our gigbit router (Netgear N600 WNDR3800), but I get a message that there is no internet connectivity and the light representing that port on the router does not turn on.So, dead ethernet port on the router? Nope - unplugged the working printer from the router and used that ethernet port - same result.so dead ethernet port on the laptop? Nope - plugged the laptop into a gigbit switch (D-link DGS-2205) and instantly got internet connectivity. Note that this switch is plugged into the aforementioned Netgear router.For good measure, I tried power-cycling the router and laptop.
BTW - I can connect the laptop to the router wirelessly but I am trying to make use of the faster transfer speed of the ethernet connection.

It also happened while I was watching Youtube videos. When this happens, I need to unplug the adapter and plug it again.
