has a netbook which on this one, the network is not working. He connects to the wireless router and gets an ip but he does not have access to the internet.When I tried the netbook at my house with my wireless, it worked perfectly and it stopped working again on my friend's network.

My personal Internet connection is out due to the fact our bill trippled for some reason we can't figure out 2 months ago without telling us. We've had an auto payment sent every month for just over what it should be. So until I get this sorted out with the ISP I have to use the community WiFi. I would like to be able to use the internet from somewhere other than the wall in my kitchen.
So, I have a number of Routers, 2 Actiontec Q1000s, but only 1 power suply, a D-Link WBR-2310, D-Link DIR-601 & a few other ods & Ends including a 12DB Amped Wireless & An 8DB Hawking Tech antennas.What I want to do is to use 1 router to connect to the CommunityShared Network, A wired connection to another router (Preferably the Q1000 as it's already setup for my Home Network) & that router to serve my Home Network, preferably over the WAN port if possible, but I can run VPNs on each device for a week if I have to.
Right now I have one computer setup in the kitchen with a High Gain Antenna conected to a Atheros SUB-362 EXT USB WiFi card, (This computer gets 7Mbps Down & 9Mbps Up) then the built-in WiFi card connected to my Home network with a Static IP, The Q1000 set to use that IP as the Gateway. I can get about 200Kbps max on devices connected to the Home Network. But the biggest problem is that my old Atheros card disconnects randomly when accessed from one of the devices on the home network. I'm fine with a ThirdParty Firmware Update on the D-Links if necessary.When I look online I only find posts about how to extend a network using a second router or how to use a specific router to repeat or bridge.
I have an E4200, and upgraded to Connect Cloud. It was buggy, and so I downgraded to the firmware before that. I have all the computers working fine in the house except my desktop. it connects fine to the network, can see the other computers on the network, can even do a windows update. But when I go to use google chrome or internet explorer it just wont access the internet. It doesn't seem to work either if it is a wired connection, or a wireless connection It was fine before the upgrade and subsequent downgrade. Trying to access the internet with a dell laptop after my daughter messed with the router. She gave me the passowd but when I try to log in from the laptop that has never been logged on since the pw changed, I get a message that wants the network key. I have read several posts about getting the network key but didn't see a network key.I have cisco connect on a different computer and can access the details of the router but haven't found the network key. I can get to Wireless, Wireless Security and the security mode is WPA2/WPA. I can see the password but where is the network key?
My main pc is running Windows 7. It is also running MS Windows firewall and anti-virus. It connects fine to the internet via an ethernet connection to the WRT610N.
I am trying to access the internet wirelessly from another pc running Windows XP. The wireless pc indicates it is connected to the network with excellent signal strength. It will not connect to the internet. I can successfully ping the router but it is unsuccessful when pinging an internet address.
An additional wireless pc (WinXP) and my phone (Android) also show connected to the network but will not connect to the internet.
These wireless computers used to be able to access the internet before we moved house. They only thing I think that has changed is the addition of Windows firewall and anti-virus. It may however be something else.
Why is it that my netbook doesn't have internet access on my Private Network? But when I connect it to my Guest Network, it does have an internet access. It's the only device I have that doesn't have internet access on my Private Network. The rest are working. I tried all the possible options to connect a device but still the problem exist.
By the way, I'm using E-1000 v2.1.02
Was told by a HP technician that I could setup a .wireless home network for the purpose of having my iPad and iPhone 4 connect to my D100 HP printer. Installed the disc that came with my router and can't get passed the point that requires a password. All my devices recognize the router but everything requires a password which I am able to provide. Can this router be setup without having Internet access if so then how?

However, I need to share a printer amongst all of the computers. The printer is LAN enabled and I would normally just put all the PCs on a hub, together with the printer and share it that way. BUT my question is can we access the internet using the wireless network and the printer using a separate wired network at the same time?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOrange sent me a replacement Netgear DNG1000 and from the moment I had it there was issues, if N mode was enabled and I had to set it to B/G only for it to have a stable connection, not a problem as I only use it for the internet. The range on it was roughly the same as the livebox. For a few weeks it worked fine until recently it started to go insane, on the main computer the wifi works most of the time with 80%-95% signal strength, and then every now and then it will suddenly lose communication with the router but act as if it was connected for 5-10 minutes, signal strength is still at about 90% yet I can't access the router or the internet. Wifi works fine at full speed on the stairs, drops to a few bytes per second on the landing and then increases back up to full speed in the room next to it. In the one bedroom the wifi works up until the door where it instantly drops from full speed to a few bytes a second. This drop off point is only a few cms, as in full speed at one place, move it back a few cm and it slows down loads, but I still get 4-5 bars on windows and -50 RSSI on inSSIDer, about 94% strength and a link quality which tends to fluctuate. What could be causing this, specifically the weird instant deadzones and randomly not responding.

The address to access the router was always http://10.0.0.2 and that has always worked. A dialog box would appear asking for a username and password. Now it doesn't even reach that screen. I have a net gear CG3000 IStaus router/cable modem attached to one of the other computers on the network. My network adapter is TP-Link.My firewall is commodore and my virus software is avast (both free versions). My SP is Optus. When I first installed windows 7 everything was working fine . In the last few weeks when I login to my computer, I can attach to the other computers but I have no internet connection. When I go into manage wireless networks it says I am connected to an unidentified network which has no Internet connection. I have tried deleting this network from " manage wireless networks", moving it down in this list, making it a manual connection. I have uninstalled the network adapter and reinstalled it and other ideas picked up from the web. Nothing seems to work. Sometimes I will get a quick window where it will work but then it disconnects again and the unidentified network is back. Not today though so am typing this on my IPad. I can't download or install XIRUS WIFI for obvious reasons.

I have a netgear WN111v2 network adapter connected to this machine. The network adapter says it is connect to the router, the icon in the bottom right hand corner is green and the signal strength is in high 90%s, yet when i start up internet explorer the message i get is "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".
Also, in the house there is a laptop running windows 7 (connected wirelessly - no problems) another laptop running windows xp (connected - no problems) and an Xbox 360 (connected ok). Been on to netgear tech support all they could suggest was to lower the security settings on the router, ultimately lowered down to disabled - still nothing. Disabled homegroup on the windows 7 machine still nothing running out of ideas now.
What I'm trying to do is create a private network for local file sharing but also have internet access. There is a WRT54G router connected to a satellite modem in a separate building, just barely close enough to connect from my laptop, which is what sparked my original idea to use my WRT54GL as an access point.

And then not to long ago, i had some kind of virus problem which caused me to get Norton 2012. But now when i try and create a wirless network it says that there is no internet access. But i use my laptops internet with a yellow wire connecting from my laptop to my modem. And the interent works perfectly fine. So i do not know why my interent wont allow me to use a wirless network.

my primary source of internet at my house for the passed year is an at&t 3g usb modem (sierra wireless lightning), becuase i live in the middle of nowhere (only other option is satellite). Up until now i've been using a wireless ad hoc network to share the connection with multiple computers. I just purchased a cradlepoint router that is compatible with my usb modem so I can have a "real" wireless network in my house. I set it up yesterday and so far its working great, I have a wii streaming netflix, an android tablet, an iphone and two laptops (running vista, and win7 respectively) currently connected. The problem is my 3rd laptop, also win7. It is my primary computer that I use for business and absolutely essential that its connected to the internet. It (seems) to connect to the wireless network just fine, but gives me a "no internet access" error.
This laptop will connect to other wireless networks: it always connected to the ad-hoc, it will connect to my wifi at work and the network at my boyfriends house, also i just tried it with the verizon 3g mobile hotspot app on my droid and it connected right away. It also works just fine with a wired connection to this router (ethernet). I'm not sure where to start since every other device in my house is working with this network and this laptop will connect to other wireless networks.
ps/ Going through the windows onscreen troubleshooter it will either tell me "there is a problem with your broadband modem" or "There is a problem communicating with DNS server" (but it wont fix it)... and after going through endless google searches, i've done everything thats been suggested so far (making sure dhcp is enabled, powercycling the router/modem, updating drivers, ipconfig release/renew, disabling the firewall).
i just hooked up a dlink router at home so i can use my laptop in different rooms. i have a desktop in one room and the internet works fine but when i hooked up the wireless router i can connect to the network but it says no internet access so i cannot get online my brother in law is really good with computers and i called him and tryed doing a bunch of different things like changing the web address and such but nothing will work.

However, I can not access the internet when I chose a security password using WPA 2, WPA-PSK + WPA 2 PSK, or WPA/WPA 2. It only accesses the internet when I chose None.( no secured ).At this time, my network is unsecured because there isn't way I can access the internet when I create a security key using the 3 options the router offers.
Note : I have tried the 3 security options creating a key number and my computer connect to the wireless network but don't access the internet. It only access the internet when I select None ( no secured )
When I try to connect to the Internet it says that I am connected but have no Internet access. When I use the troubleshooter it says wireless network configuration does not have a valid ip configuration. I also tried using the Ethernet cable but it still says no Internet access.

Two days since i had a power shutdown in my building so i had to disconnect both the modem and the routerfter i reconnected them my wireless network is shown and i can connect through my hp laptop but it keeps showing the Message "unidentified network not internet access". Other laptops and my ipod have no problem at all. I've tried following some tutorials that told me to disable and enable the network, i've checked that my ip is obtained automatically.

We used to be able to have all our family's laptops, etc., connected at the same time using this code, but the site has recently changed the configuration so that we can't do this. Is there any way we can share the connection made by one computer so that we can all access the Internet at the same time? The site is in a remote location that gets poor mobile data coverage and landlines are not an option. The yearly fee is already high, so I can't afford to pay for multiple subscriptions.

It's great, but I ordered a rosewill wireless adapter for it and noticed that my connection strength and speed are both pretty terrible. I went on amazon and bought a TP-Link wireless adapter(TL-WN822N). I installed the most recent "V2" drivers from their website and upon disabling my rosewill adapter and enabling the new TP-Link adapter, I was able to connect to the network, but not access the internet. I have tried power cycling the router, using the reset switch on the router, restarting my computer, and a bunch of commands that I found on this site. Is it possible that I have a defective adapter?

He's getting a error saying Unidentified Network. After letting fail windows troubleshoot I got 2 errors. The first was "The default gateway is not available, the second was Local Area connection doesn't have a valid ip configuration. Here's what Ive tried so far.I tried in safe mode. Ethernet works here so I assume is a software issue?Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. disabled and enabled, nothing..I tried going into configure network card and giving Network Address a random 12 digit value and that failed.Ive tried updating the drivers but I cant because Dell wants me to their download manager into the computer that has no internet to download the drivers /facepalm..I basically ran out of ideas. Our laptops (with Windows XP), iPods, and iPhones all show that there is an excellent wireless network connection (as usual), but none of the computers or devices will connect to the Internet. I tried resetting, rebooting, and unplugging the modem and router. The router and modem seem to be fine. When we disconnect the router and plug the laptop directly into modem, we have Internet connection (i.e., it's not the IP).

Though, the connection can be established locally between my laptop and the wireless network for a short while before the connection is lost locally. There is certainly no problem with my current wireless router as there are internet connections between the wireless network and other devices. We have the RV180W router and the WAP321 access point in our business. We want to broadcast two SSIDs from both locations: the office SSID, which shares routing to LAN traffic, and a guest SSID.The office computers are attached via ethernet to a switch off of LAN port 1 on the router. The AP is attached to LAN port 2 on the router.On the router, the office SSID and the LAN are members of VLAN 1. The guest network is a member of VLAN 2. From the router, everything works just fine.On the WAP, the staff SSID works fine, but the guest SSID has no internet. Both the office and guest networks get DHCP successfully from the router.Our VLAN membership table in the router and WAP are attached, as well as other configuration details.Why would we not be getting internet on the guest ID only on the WAP?
