Networking :: Functionality Differences Between QNAP TS-412 And TS-410 Turbo NAS

Feb 22, 2012

Aside from the obvious differences between these two NAS`s (processor speed, max users, max groups etc) what are the actual real world differences in functionality between the two?

I`m also wondering what the `turbo` bit refers to?Any pros/cons of each??

Linksys Wireless Router :: Upnp E4200 Not Working With QNAP 412 Turbo?

Mar 9, 2012

I recently upgraded my linksys E1000 to: linksys E4200 ( i needed gb port)

In my QNAP I can scan for upnp routers to set the forwarding port automaticly.

But it keeps telling my, it can't find an upnp router on my network. My E1000 was found without any problem!

If I open the port manually for example FTP 21. I cannot get acces from the internet, it keeps telling me its closed.

I forwarded it to the right ip. an clicked to apply. The website from QNAP says the E4200 is certified for upnp

So tho sum up: I cannot acces my NAS from the internet.

My setup:

Modem/router (ZIGGO) --- Linksys E4200 ---- QNAP 412 turbo

Linksys E4200 firmware 10.04

Networking OKI Microline 320 Turbo From Windows 7 To XP?

Feb 13, 2012

At my office we do business that requires us to use a OKI Microline 320 Turbo printer. We have had the two computers set up to be able to both print off this printer with no issues until recently. The computer which was hooked up directly to the printer crashed, and we replaced it. Until this point both computers were running off Windows XP Pro, but the new computer is running Windows 7. I can find the printer on the XP computer, but it says that the driver on the printer's server is incorrect, and asks me to direct it to the proper driver. This is where I'm having issues, I know the driver is on here as this computer was connected to this printer before, and when I try downloading the driver direct from the website it tells me that the driver is native to the XP, but now it won't recognize the driver and I don't know where to direct it to

I cannot seem to see my server behind a cisco router. When I type the IP in on the web, it accesses the talkswitch phone system.I have set the internal IP to the server as fixed.I have port 21 open for FTP.When I run a test, the internet sees port 21 open. However, I cannot seem to cal lup the server over the internet. Could the talkswitch system somehow be interfereing with the logon? What would the proper syntax be to access the server?

Also if I try and open the Network and Sharing Centre explorer stops responding and has to be restarted. Cisco WAN :: C3750G - VRF Lite Functionality

Jan 22, 2012

Using the VRF- Lite functionality on Cisco 3750G's (WS-C3750G-24T-S), I've got a situation currently with a set of 3750's running inter- v LAN routing for around 80/90 connected sub nets (140+ gig ports). I'm looking in the coming week at creating a new VRF and enabling OSPF for that VRF while leaving the existing routing arrangements in the Default IP Routing Table.

I'm in a situation where I can't replicate the live config into a lab to test the impact / implications of enabling / creating VRF's. I know the 3750's have a very small support for VRF's (24 if I recall) but I only plan on using 2 or 3 max currently.

Cisco :: Differences Discovered For Same Device In LMS 4.1?

Jan 30, 2012

We have installed Cisco Prime 4.1 and we have discovered all the devices of our network. Although all devices appear as known both in Monitor and in Inventory, some of them are not being monitored correctly. For example, in the Known_Device_List Report, I have a device named 'Switch1' with IP 'x.x.x.' but in the monitoring, it shown by the name 'Switch2' with the same IP 'x.x.x.x'.

It seems that the DFM database doesn't get correctly this device from DCR, but in the LMS 4.1 version there is no option to delete this device from the DFM. I already tried to rediscovery devices throught CLI by the dmctl -s DFM invoke ICF_TopologyManager::ICF-TopologyManager discoverAll command, but with no success.

Differences Between Two Models Of 3850 Switches?

Mar 4, 2013

We were quoted from our vendor for:WS-C3850-48P-S with 2x715w Power supplies. It looks like the data sheet says that to get POE+ you need 2x1100w or 1x1100w & 1x715w. Do we need to step up to the WS-C3850-48PF-S?

Cisco WAN :: 1811 Configuration Differences

Jan 23, 2012

I am setting up my 2nd 1811 router for NAT and VPN.  The 1st 1811 works great, completed a few months ago.  On this 2nd 1811, I decided to just copy the working startup-config from the good, 1st router to this 2nd, and then change IPs and from there.  I did not do the setup wizard, but just erased the startup-config, reloaded, gave temp IP on local LAN and copied good startup-config from TFTP server.

Question: on this 2nd 1811, I show this:

mmi polling-interval 60
no mmi auto-configure
no mmi pvc
mmi snmp-timeout 180
no ip subnet-zero

I do not have this on the 1st, and I cannot get rid of it. Is this due to IOS versions?

On the 1st I have:

Cisco IOS Software, C181X Software (C181X-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(6)T8, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)
flash:c181x-advipservicesk9-mz.124-6.T8.bin

On the 2nd I have:

Cisco IOS Software, C181X Software (C181X-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(4)T1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc4)
flash:c181x-advipservicesk9-mz.124-4.T1.bin

Cisco WAN :: 881W-GN-E-K9 And C881W-GN-E-K9 Differences

CISCO881W-GN-E-K9 vs. C881W-GN-E-K9. What's the difference between these routers?

For example, the CISCO881G-K9 has a 3.5G ExpressCard Modem and the C881G has an embedded one with GPS and 3.7G in most versions. The C881G is, for all I know, the newer one. But for the two mentioned above, I can't find any differences at all. The C881 is listed in the Teleworking section of the data sheet. But there is no information whatsoever about any feature or license differences.

Cisco Firewall :: 5505 No VPN Wizard Functionality

Sep 30, 2012

I am currently looking at the suitability of replacing an 'airbreak' firewall with 2 new ASA 5505'S.One stipulation i have is that i require to connect the third party that is currently using the 'airbreak' solution using a secure iPsec VPN.I have both 5505's that were supplied by the third party, but i believe i may need a new fireware upgradeI am using ASDM 6.4.XX and the ASA's have firmware 8.4(2) and a basic licence.Am i correct in assuming that the VPN wizard functionality is missing because of th firmware installed currently on both of the ASA's? or am i looking in the wrong place?

I have done a fair amount of research an can see earlier versions of ASDM wit the VPN wizzard so can only assume it is down to the firmware.i see that the latest version for the ASA 5505's is 8.4.4 and was wondering if this will provide me with the functionality i require as it does mention in the documentation that it does support the clientless VPN options. What part number ASA5505-BUN-K9 relates too in relation to firmware for the ASA's? [code]

Linksys Wireless Router :: Functionality Lost On EA6500?

Oct 2, 2012

The only way I could get my EA6500 to work as auto DHCP to my Roadrunner Motorola SBV5220 Surfboard cable modem was to disable IPv6 support on the router.  It appears that the EA6500 attempts to issue the DHCP request for address assignment from the modem using IPv6.  I could see the status of "Connecting" for IPv6 in the Diagnosis Reports and it would hang.  Once I disabled IPv6, the modem assigned an IPv4 address and everything worked fine.  However, am I giving up any functionality by having to do this?  I bought this router and the WUMC710 Universal Media Connector for the 5GHz connectivity for streaming and just wondered if I'm impacting UMC performance or any other functions of the router by having to disable IPv6.
