No Internet At Present On A New Computer

This is a friend's computer, who bought it yesterday Acer desktop Windows 7 premium 64 bit. He asked me for assistance in setting it up, and I did that . IE8 and Mozilla Firefox were working. Later in the evening, he called and said that his computer had no internet access, though the laptop he had was working. This morning, I wnet to his place, reset the model and the router, and it was working fine. He called now and said that it is not working again. The service provider did not find any fault with the connection.

I've been having some problems with my Ethernet connection lately.I unplugged my laptop from the Ethernet connection I had at my old place.At two different locales, I have tried to use an Ethernet connection in order to get better speed (the wireless at the first locale was non-existent and at the second it is extremely slow in my room). I have done so with two separate cables that I have tested on others' computers and found that they are perfectly fine. That, of course, leads me to believe that it is my computer and is either a hardware or software problem (here's hoping it's the latter).Anyway, my laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1720 (purchased in 2006). About a year ago, I updated to Windows 7 from the pre-installed Vista. Never had any problems (as I said, everything was fine up until about a week ago). The installed card is a Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller. Everything under Device Manager indicates that the hardware is working properly and has all of its drivers installed, but nothing is working.I have tried to uninstall and re-install the drivers (albeit by allowing windows to find them automatically), but the result is the exact same.I have checked the port and found that there is no debris or obstructions. My computer hasn't been dropped or mishandled in any way.I'm currently being housed on the campus of Delta State University, which is why this appears, but here is the report: [code]

I am trying to copy a setup from a Nortel IAX100 where the carrier provides two ATM PVC's over ADSL - one for voice (VoIP) and one for data (IP). Relevant lines from the backup of the IAX's configuration include the following for the PPP authentication over the voice circuit:

The null username and password for the PPP connection have me a bit stumped. Does the PPP connection not use any authenetication at all? (Is that possible/likely? How could I deubg it?) Or does does the IAX100 supply a chap/pap response with null credentails? (If so, how would I duplicate that using an instruction to a dialer interface?I am configuring an 877 with 12.4T and advanced IP services.

I've just got a new AP 1250 series, and I was trying to configure the Radio for the 2.4Ghz spectrum using the interface dot11radio 0 and I've just noticed that this controller is not present so I cannot configure it so I wonder is it could be a HW problems as it looks to me or there is another way to enable this.
I never have an issue like this before so I want to first check with you before going back to our vendor.
Here is some of the details I get from the AP itself:

I am receiving this error after connecting a copper adapter on a GBIC blade in a 6509. Here are the results from the show Interface. I am waiting to confirm the device on the other side settings but as far as I see I get UP and Up for protocol and line respectively.

I an currently running Cisco (ACS 5.2.0.26.3) and attempting to get my Cisco 5508 WLC's (7.0.98.0) loaded into ACS for TACACS+ authentication for managment users.
However I keep getting the following error:
*emWeb: Sep 14 14:44:45.931: %EMWEB-1-LOGIN_FAILED: ews_auth.c:2104 Login failed for the user:test_tac. Service-Type is not present or it doesn't allow READ/WRITE permission.
Now I've attempted the step-by-step using the following URL but to no avail.( there are some slight differences in ACS 5.2)

I am with Virgin media (UK) and have the 20mbps fiber optic connection. My area has recently been having problems with the broadband and Virgin has recently fixed these problems. However I used to get around 19mbps now that the problem is fixed my computer which is wired to the router gets about 0.4mbps downstream... However the 5 wireless computers all get 16mbps which is pretty good for them. Windows tells me that its a firewall issue and I currently can't use two programs, spotify and steam. They both have firewall issues, even if I turn off my firewall which is the windows one. I also have avast, and when I turn that off, still no good. I used OpenDNS, stopped using that flushed my DNS, that didnt work. I tried to optimize my computer settings, by changing various values in Regedit.All of this has done nothing. I should add that I have recently re-installed Windows 7 so on this fresh install it has never had decent internet speed. Which I thought was weird.. I have basically had these problems since the fresh install. All of my drivers are up to date.

When I look at the "network and sharing" page it saying that I'm connected same goes for the "Wireless Network Connection Status" page (which says "internet" in the "IPv4 connectivity" and "no internet access" in the "IPv6 connectivity"). But when the computer has to update It'll say "no internet access" and when i go on Internet Explorer it won't say anything instead the green loading bar on the bottom of the page will be stuck in the middle.

Network and it would'nt even ask for my password

I am setting up two identical workstations at the company I work for. They are both brand new HP computers running Windows 7 64 bit. I set up one computer fine and added it to our domain. I tried connected the second computer and I can add it to the domain but for some reason it says "No Internet Access". I can ping our server and anything else on the network, but any website I try won't come up.
Most of the related issues I've searched for were all viruses but since this is brand new and has never been online that is not the case...unless an HP tech decided to play a cruel joke of course!
Could it be the network card? I didn't think so since it connects locally but who knows. I also disabled and enabled, took our sonicwall down and tried to obtain settings automatically, nothing works!

the internet connection to my computer was fine. Nothing wrong with it at all. I turned my computer off and went to bed. When I woke up the next day morning and turned my computer on, there was no internet connection. I turned my computer back off and went to school.I tried unplugging and plugging the Ethernet cable back in, but it will no longer connect with the Ethernet cable. I have managed to get it to work wire lessly.

My Dell laptop, iPhone, and iPad can all connect to my wireless internet. Recently my desktop showed "Connected" with strong signal strength but "No Internet access" and I haven't been able to connect since. I've run a complete virus scan (Mcafee) and nothing was found. I've done the reboot of the router, modem and computer, waiting 30 seconds, etc. with no success. But since the other devices can connect I have to assume it's something with the desktop

My computer will not connect to the internet, it was working fine then all of the sudden disconnected, I have tried all the basic things like restarting the modem and using a different Ethernet, but none of those worked, so I am convinced that the problem is with the computer itself. I have it set up so that my netbook(which I am using right now) is wirelessly connected to the internet, and I have a ethernet cable going from the netbook to my desktop, giving the desktop internet(until it had this connection problem). I am using windows xp professional, and I have spent a lot of time browsing to try and fix the problem, but so far it is to no avail. First I'll start by saying when i try to repair the connection it comes up with the message " the following steps of the repair operation failed: renewing the IP address" I tried using ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew, but when I do this it says "an error occured while renewing interface local area connection: unable to contact you DHCP server. request has timed out" when I type in "ipcofig" it says my IP address is 169.254.xxx.xx, after researching more i found out that this is bad, but when i try to renew to get rid of it it gives me the "unable to contact DHCP" message. I even tried reformatting with a different windows disc but the connection problem still persists.

Have tried resetting my DNS and have checked my firewalls, I do not know what is going on. I do not have another comp to copy and paste my info from the cmd. Ive also gone into settings and made sure it is automatically picking up the dns. When i go onto my google chrome is says my dns look up failed.

I haven't had a problem with the internet until today, i was on the computer earlier in the morning using the internet took a break and just logged back on now and my internet provider (if thats what you call it) isnt being picked up on my computer, but the internet is working on my laptop and parents laptops.My computer is picking up a few other internet providers to connect to but just not mine.

I just got windows xp 64 for my computer and completely restarted/rebooted it. (started from scratch) It successfully downloaded but I have no internet connection. I have another computer plugged into my netgear box and it works perfectly fine. I checked and made sure everything was plugged in right and restarted my netgear thing but it did not work. There is no packets coming in or out of it connection but it recognizes that I at least have something plugged in.

One is the regular from the phone line internet and the other is a wireless subscription I access via dongle. Is it possible to connect to the internet on both subscriptions and then use one for specific applications and the other solely for games?I want to be able to use the more stable direct connection for games and be able to use the 2nd subscription to download via torrent.. I have another computer but it is company owned and torrent is forbidden.

This morning I noticed my home computer would not connect to the Internet. I thought maybe it was my wireless router so I rebooted both my cable modem and my router.It didn't work, my router lights are all normal saying I have Internet access and such, and I realized I can get on from my phone wirelessly, however my computer that is wired has 0 connection, and WIFI works. When I go through my networks it says all my IP numbers are 0.0.0.0.

I just installed a wifi card in the back of my computer. it only seems to recognize about half of the networks that my laptop recognizes (sometimes it doesn't seem to find my own wifi for a while), but shows everything with full green bars. connecting is difficult but can be done. it shows that my connection is healthy, but the internet is very very slow, it takes about a minute to load google. i am comparing the connection on my machine to the one on my laptop, and they seem pretty much identical (this is info i've gathered through ipconfig /all and also network connection details in windows 7). the only different information is that the IPv4 addresses are slightly different for each machine (which i think is correct). when i diagnose the connection it says that ''the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding"
i've tried flushing and renewing and releasing my IP in command, i've rebooted and reset the router about a billion times to no avail, i've got the latest drivers for the wifi card ('sabrent wireless-g 802.11g pci adapter / ralink turbo wireless lan card).. i tried changing my preferred/alternate DNS entries to google and the other one everyone recommends.. nothing is working. the internet is still exceptionally slow and the connection occasionally drops for a second or two.

i have the 4G internet from verizonwireless and its in the form of a usb. I can move it from computer to computer and have the internet on any computer i chose but say if wanted to be on the internet on two different computers at the same time with that same usb. can that be done? Can i leave the usb on one computer and some how get a router or anything to spread the signal in order words so the other labtop can pick it up?

I have wireless set up in the house. Every computer on the network can access the internet through the router except for one. This particular one also has a verizon broadand air card hooked to it and with that it can access the internet no problem. The problem is only with wireless.
what Ive done so far: 2 different wireless cards, uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers, checked all tcp/ip settings. Manually set DNS servers.
