my pc (windows xp) will no longer connect to my network. i have two laptops on same network and they still connect without a problem. i've made no changes that i know of except to add my wifes kindle to the network. i know next to nothing about computers
View 1 RepliesI bought an ASUS P8Z77-V motherboard, an i5 3570K and a Corsair Vengeance 4GB card a month ago. I built it with a Radeon HD 5670 graphic card, CoolerMaster 500W, a Sony lightscribe DVDRW unit and an old HD 500GB. The PSUs fan stopped working 3 weeks ago and I didnt notice this. While playing games the computer shut down, and I quickly opened the case. The PSU was hot and I could smell burned plastic. A week after I randomly tried to start the computer and guess what!? IT WORKS! Then I realised that only the fan was broken. I took the PSU and fan appart and lubricated the fan. It spins like a charm but I think I lost a piece of it and now its loud as hell but it works. I thougt this story might have something to do with the issue.
THE ISSUE: My internet has been working like a charm untill a week ago. A week ago the LAN or wired connection stopped working. I had to disable LAN adapter in BIOS else it would try to connect forever and I couldnt disable it in Windows. I didnt bother to solve it since my motherboard has a Wireless adaptor, so I just connected wirelessly. Today the wireless stopped working. I figured out that I might have goten a virus? I formated the disk and reinstalled WIN7 x64. I install the drivers, and the wireless and LAN still dont work. I reinstall WIN7 once again. Still nothing. I remember that I have to set the IP adress myself. So I go to Wireless adptor - preferences - IPV4 - type the stuff in, and when trying to close the window it freezes. After closing it in task manager a message "An unexpected error has occured" appears. I have to close Explorer.exe too and then after 2 attempts I get to close the window and save normally, but still no connection.
So, I currently have a desktop and 3 laptops connected wireless to the router in my home, yet the GATEWAY laptop no longer connects wireless. I have to use the wire in order to connect to the internet and it's starting to become annoying. I had to restore the Gateway laptop back to Windows XP from Windows 7 due to a LARGE amount of issues with Windows 7. I'm in need of this laptop in order to complete my paper work.

Today my laptop (Lenovo T420 with Win 7) started acting up and I can't connect to any wireless networks anymore. I remember having the same problem just after buying the computer, but then it just disappeared and I never found out what happened. I tried restarting, turning the wifi switch off/on and also enabling/disabling the adapter, but nothing worked. Then I tried switching the wifi card with another identical one, but that didn't solve the issue either.

My Dlink DCS-930 camera won't work over 3G. It works fine on my home WiFi network. When on 3G it shows the camera, click it, tries to connect but just keep saying connection timeout.
It used to work over 3G fine, nothing has changed to my network. I've rebooted the camera and router numerous times, it has the latest firmware, but still won't work. I'm logged into my dlink account fine. I have an Apple Time Capsule.
I can't open the Ryanair website any more, everything else is working properly. This happened during spanish general strike when their website may have crashed, but since then it wont open. I am using Google chrome.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanted to reinstall a game I used to play (League of legends) it gave me an HTTP error and told me to check my firewall. My firewall is fine, I don't have one from my antivirus.Also, Steam refuses to connect anymore, sayting it's has and unknown error named eroor:-137. I mailed steam support for this, and they gave me lots and lots of options, but none of them worked.basically, I can still download stuff, but for big games (i.e. League of Legends and DC Universe Online) it connects to a server to 1) download the game and 2) check for updates/patches.

The ethernet light on my modem, when connected to router (Ubee 10C035 3.0/Comcast ISP) will blink 2-3 times then stop for a half second then blink 2-3 times and so on. Plugged ethernet cable from pc directly into modem and my desktop connected to the 'net fine and light was blinking normally(constantly) again. A few power cycles/reset of the Router to defaults but no luck.

I have used the dongle many times on this laptop without issue and the dongle still works on my other laptop fine. Im able to ping my server just fine, left only one of these microsoft 6to4 adapters, tried turning off my AVG and Firewall, sharing devices and printers is enabled, Netbios is enabled.
Oh, and my antivirus is AVG free.

I have a linksys E3200. Today I got disconnected and when it reconnected it stated that the network was changed to just network and not my usual network name. I was having connection issues with the network disconnecting me and reconnecting me. I uninstalled the cisco connect software. I contacted support who told me to restart the router and modem, which I did. After reset I tried to reinstall the software. Cisco Connect likes to insist to do the installation wirelessly but my laptop can't find the router during installation to complete it. My router is essentially a glorified wire connecting my computer to my modem now.

i dont remember installing any special driver or software in the time it stoped seeing my wlan netwrok. the laptop is 3ft-10ft in direct line to the antena and just nothing..

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm staying with friends who have a router connected to their modem, which is connected to a computer.Three other computers connect remotely via wireless, including mine, which is the farthest from the connection. I have a so-so USB wireless that gets the job done, but isn't anything special. This morning I came home to find my connection was very laggy and spotty. I rebooted the modem and router,which reduced me to no internet connection at all. I removed the adapter, plugged it back in, then rebooted. Nothing. Since then, I've reinstalled the adapter's software twice, gone into safe mode and back out, have verified the USB port is working, and removed the device from device manager. And I've seen everything on my status from the yellow yield sign to the unplugged icon symbolizing no adapter period, even when the adapter is plugged in.All other computers have access but mine. Just before writing this, I remove the connection settings and reentered them. The connection asks me for the key, I put it in, and receive "Windows could not connect to <the network>. I receive that even if I intentionally put the key in wrong. No "key is incorrect" or "please reeneter" just "windows could not connect." My wireless adapter's settings verify that there is signal. There was a thunder storm today, and I'm mentioning it, but feel insofar as my computer is concerned, it may be a red herring.
I am at a complete loss. There's signal. The usb adapter's software has been reinstalled, and it's attempting to connect. I think the fact that it's not giving me any response about the key being incorrect may be the key to this solution, but I am at a loss.My friends insist that no changes have been made to the router or modem other than my resetting them.In the time between writing this and posting it, I unplugged my wireless adapter from the computer with the ailing connection, and went to another computer to continue researching.
