We have basically done everything we could have thought of and still no success - we can't see one another. We're connected to the internet via the same router and we share ADSL normally, we can both go online at the same time etc.We both have static IP addresses set up (mine is 192.168.1.10 and his is 192.168.1.11).One interesting thing I noticed is, when I log in into the router from my PC, under 'Ethernet' tab, it shows:[CODE]

All clients work perfectly except for Windows 7 machinesAll DHCP info is correct, DNS is working on Win7 machines. I can ping all internal addresses and the router but nothing on the other side of the router. This is true for both wireless and wired connections.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a network of approximately 20 computers, network printers, and one Windows 2003 Server (used simply as a file server). I have an issue with two specific Windows 7 Pro workstations that just will not logon. The username and password details we're using are correct, but the server rejects them. I can logon using the same account from any other Windows 7 Pro workstation, or Windows XP station, so I know the issue is specific to the two workstations communicating with the server.
Both afftected stations show Logon attempted by: MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_1_0 error 0xC000006A which all searches on Google point towards incorrect login credentials, however I've tried plenty of perfectly valid login credentials and they don't work either.I've tried checking that the 128bit option on the Windows 7 machines is disabled in file sharing etc.
I have an RV042 setup for quick vpn access. The remote computer in question is a win 7 64bit. The PC uses McAfee SAAS firewall. This disables the windows firewall.
1. I can connect to the vpn with SAAS disabled and windows firewall enabled.
2. I cannot connect to the vpn with both windows firewall and SAAS disabled.
3. I cannot run SAAS and windows firewall together to check if this would work.
I need to figure out what windows firewall is doing to allow the vpn to connect, and so how do this with windows firewall disabled. I can then leave the windows firewall disabled and enable McAfee SAAS.The message quickvpn provides when it fails to connect is that the remote gateway is not responding. The client logs show that the tunnel had been opened but it was unable to ping.
have a win7 pc with a wireless dongle to view my wireless router. The dongle is working but my router is not being seen as an option to connect to? The router is in distance as my laptop works in the same place.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am involved in a huge project that requires Servers PCs to function as Routers in schools to prevent broadcast traffic issues (Thread here: Need Professional Advice on 3 MANs implementations - Long story short: Can't buy regular routers because of budget and neet to use current equipment to make the network work, that is, Windows Servers 2008 with 2 NICs.
Now to the point. We are making tests but can't make Static routes to work properly. Design is as follows:
Now we have seen that we need to use this command (in cmd) to add a static route in W2008:
route add [NETWORK DESTINATION] mask [SUBNETMASK] [GATEWAY] if [NIC]
Q1: What exact command(s) do we have to use to make the Laptop in 10.10.10.0 to access Internet? How would you fill those fields based on the diagram?
Q2: How many Static routes do we need to declare? I am guessing we just need one, but I have been told that I need to activate two (one for packets sent by the laptop to the router, and one for the packets sent by the router to the laptop?)
We have tried several combinations and can't make laptop to access Internet, not even to ping 192.168.1.5. We have just accomplished pinging to 192.168.1.181 from the Laptop, and to ping 10.10.10.2 from the Server but that's as far as we went.
I have Virgin Media services, I had a problem with my cable, which an engineer was booked for, but it magically fixed itself, so I cancelled the engineer. The engineer turned up for the appointment, which I was out for, then urged me over the phone to keep his number, and call me if I had any problems. I got home an hour later and my modem wouldn't sync. My guess is he did something with it outside so he would still get paid for the job. I called him up, and he came round and instantly replaced my old Virgin modem (which I was using with my own Belkin wireless router) with a new Virgin (Netgear) hub.I'm giving this bit of background to demonstrate, everything was fine before. [code] Since getting the new hub, I set up the wireless connections on the laptop and console, and internet is working fine. However none of the devices can share with eachother. When I go to network on either computer, neither computer sees either computer. All the sharing settings that I had before are unchanged, all that has changed is my modem/router combo has been replaced by a hub.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI thought that all my problems would be solved when I recently bought the Belkin Play router with dd-wrt 24 sp2 (build 18050M) firmware. It was only a partial success.
My situation is the following: a neighbor on the other side of the street has wifi, which he is willing to share. But it barely reaches my house. So I thought I would solve the problem by installing my Belkin Play as a repeater bridge, so I could connect my PC to it by cable while also connecting my mobile devices.

For some inexplicable reason my router connected for a while but then, seemingly for no reason, disconnected. I wanted to figure out why that was and tried setting my PC's IP address to 192.168.1.5. This way I was able to connect to my router but still unable to connect to the internet. Interestingly enough, when I take my laptop close to the window, I can connect to the original network with internet access.
I have two disk tops I want to network to the internet. Does any one know of a "Wired Router" that will work with Windows Seven and XP?

We have a working configuration for L2TP-IPSec connection from a native Windows XP client to the ASA 5510. When trying to set up a connection from a Windows 7 client, the connection fails with the message that all SA proposals are unacceptable? Is this coexistence possible, and what parameters would I have to change to get this working. I have understood that the Windows 7 client requires som higher security proposals, but have not found what these are. And at the sam time we are concerned about not destroying the VPN connection for our existing XP clients.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI saw a thread from early 2010 which described the issue I am currently having to a T. I am on a Belkin Wireless G with Mimo router and it runs perfectly either on LAN or WLAN, until my new roommate's MacBook gets on there at the same time. As soon as the MAC connects, I get a blue screen of death and the PC restarts. I have been battling this issue for over a week now and have absolutely narrowed it down to the Mac/wireless area.
I have already uninstalled/reinstalled my wireless drivers and thought that had fixed the issue(it worked fine for 4 days), until the roommate returned from out of town and connected the Mac to the Wireless....then WAMMO, like clockwork, back came the BSoD. This seems like a very unique problem, as I have done many searches online and the one I mentioned on here is the only one I could find that accurately described my issue.
For reference, I have posted the link to the previous case below. Unfortunately, no solutions, other than reinstall drivers (which I have already done) are posted. I tried everything in that thread and my settings appear to all be the same as his. Is it possible this is just some rare Windows 7 glitch that has never been resolved?

I recently had virus infections removed from someone who used AVIRA and MBAM (malaware anti bytes)
edit I tried to disable the autoscaling feature in windows and it did not work /I am running windows vista home 32bit/I can connect to the router now I had the wrong security type selected WPA instead of WPA2, but it still reports local only, I checked my router logs and it shows that it connects but it does not give me information on if it is blocking the laptop from the internet or if my laptop is. I have tried turning off the windows firewall and resetting it as well now.
I have tried the things listed below
- uninstall and reinstall windows wireless adapter drivers through computer managment
- disablied IPv6 through wirless adapter properties (unchecking the box)
- reset my rounter entirely (after which I can no longer connect to the router at all, where as before I did this I was able to connect to my router but it was local only) held the reset button for 10 or more seconds plus unplugged my modem and router for 5 mins, I know its alot of time for that but I was eating but regardless, after which I turned on my modem let all the lights go through their setup then I turned on the router let all the lights do their thing, and then my laptop to make sure everything picked up new settings.
-something threw me off also under computer managment under the network adapters there were ipv6 to ipv4 "tunnels" or something, they had the yellow warning sign on it.
