have a win7 pc with a wireless dongle to view my wireless router. The dongle is working but my router is not being seen as an option to connect to? The router is in distance as my laptop works in the same place.

I am on a Belkin Wireless G with Mimo router and it runs perfectly either on LAN or WLAN, until my new roommate's MacBook gets on there at the same time. As soon as the MAC connects, I get a blue screen of death and the PC restarts. I have been battling this issue for over a week now and have absolutely narrowed it down to the Mac/wireless area.
I have already uninstalled/reinstalled my wireless drivers and thought that had fixed the issue(it worked fine for 4 days), until the roommate returned from out of town and connected the Mac to the Wireless....then WAMMO, like clockwork, back came the BSoD. This seems like a very unique problem, as I have done many searches online and the one I mentioned on here is the only one I could find that accurately described my issue.
For reference, I have posted the link to the previous case below. Unfortunately, no solutions, other than reinstall drivers (which I have already done) are posted. I tried everything in that thread and my settings appear to all be the same as his. Is it possible this is just some rare Windows 7 glitch that has never been resolved?

I have just spent an hour with TalkTalk technical support being told that the new router they supplied today can only be used wirelessly for Vista or W7 but not both together. Am i going mad. Both connect to the router but my Vista laptop will not connect to the internet and will only show as an unidentified public network.

I want to remotely access the files on my old, slow, Big Bertha computer, which is soo terribly, horribly slow, using my new Win7 PC. But it won't let me! The XP PC is connected via ethernet cable to my Belkin Wireless-N router, and the new HP Win7 PC is connected to my wireless network via wireless signal. The computers cannot see each other or find each other on the network. I have tried- renaming the workgroup name on both PCs to be the same as the wireless network SSID, Installing some worthless "topology" update for the XP computer, which it refused to install, saying it didn't need it, Connecting the XP computer directly to the Win7 PC via ethernet cable and trying to bridge the LAN and Wireless connections on the Win7 PC and the LAN and Windows Network connections on the XP computer
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm not able to connect at wireless n speed even though i have a wireless n adapter. i can force it but when i do my throughput drops dramatically, 20Mbps -> 1 Mbps. so i try, wpa2 security and can connect to router at 130 Mbps but throughput is 1Mbps when I throttle down connection to only connect at 54Mbps throughput is 20Mbps.

I borrowed a netbook from a friend to take on vacation . It is a Dell Inspiron Mini 1011 running XP SP3 My router is a WRT54GS. I can connect to the router with my Vista laptop with no problems. I can connect to the router with a cat cable using the netbook. The netbook sees a strong signal from my router all the time, but will not connect. Occasionally it will connect for a moment, but then disconnects.

Based on that experience I upgraded to a e4200.But so far it's not living up to my expectations (media server not probably working with external harddisk, no advanced logging of incoming/outgoing traffic, connection problems) and I'm getting pretty frustrated with it.Problem right now is that one of my laptops with Windows 7 is often not connecting correctly to the wireless network of the e4200. It's giving a "unidentified network" error. Rebooting computer and router is not working. The computer is (always) reliable connecting to another wireless network in my home. It seems the DHCP is not working properly?

When the computer is put to sleep through the night, I have to restart the computer the next morning to get a signal but works fine if put to sleep during the day and awakened the same day to use the connection. Have a second computer wired directly to the modem with vista that doesn't have this issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI replaced my D-link router with a new EA4500 last night.I can get to the internet, I set up 2 computers wirelessly, I set up a printer wirelessly.I am struggling with the NAS.I have a D-link DNS-323 which was previously connected to the D-link router via ethernet cable and worked fine.The Cisco Connect software does NOT have the ability to "connect" an ethernet-connected device, only USB or wireless.Windows Explorer does not see the DNS.The DNS- 323 has a fixed IP address which I know. I type it into my browser and it can't find it.I have shut down the DNS and unplugged the power for a full reset.I am running Win 7 Ultimate on my PC.

Most of the time it operates fine but we find sometimes it loses connectivity, both internet connectivity from the machine and access to the machine remotely. I have it configured with a Realtek wireless card and was able to connect it to my office wireless network without a problem.But, when I try to set it up at home, it won't take. I have a dlink router that is working fine with several Mac computers in my home, so I know the router and network are up and running fine.The PC uses Windows XP. The icon in the lower right corner says dlink is connected and there is strong signal strength. However, when I check the dlink status, it shows that 2,573 "packets" are sent, while "0" are received.I've tried to connect to the internet using Mozilla, Safari, and Explorer. Then its Blue Screen of Death and no joy. If I turn off the modem, the HTPC boots up perfectly normally. Turn the modem on and as soon as I try to recognise the home network, it crashes again.

I want to access this folder via my Wireless laptop with Windows Media Player but I only get a handful of the 3000+ songs on the disk. A hard wired PC can access the files but not a wireless laptop. I'm not sure where the issue is. If I use the drive via //host/Music the Star ratings are not available but I get all music, if I map a drive then I get star rating but only a handful of songs. I have tried to change permission but I cannot change the file permissions on the Linksys.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI came into an old Win 7 computer (64-bit) with a WMP54G v4.0 wireless card in it. Apparently the driver had already been installed previously but when I booted the computer it didn't acknowledge the existence of the card or drivers. I installed the driver from here[url]... and restarted the computer when prompted (the card was already in the computer). Upon restart the setup was supposed to complete, but it never came up. When I re-ran the setup it just said the driver is already installed.The card still isn't being recognized, scanning for new hardware in the device manager doesn't bring it up. There is an entry for a "Network Controller" with no driver installed, it may be the WMP54G but trying to manually install the driver doesn't work. Windows just says it can't find the driver even when I point the install wizard right to its location.

I restarted, nothing. I clicked set up again, says drivers are already installed....though there is no app to show profiles, im guessing it isn't.

why Windows Backup in Windows 7 pro 64 would not backup over the network to a drive I have connected to the 4200s USB port? Everytime I run it I get a Access Denied error at the end, even though data has been transfered.
