How can I create new vlan through SNMP?
I just bought a SG200-18 in order to use LAG between a backup server and multiple computers and servers. Servers are supposed to all use 2 links and computers only 1.
As soon as I activate LAG on port 2 and 3, no matter what is connected on the switch I lose access to the switch interface (luckuly, it's still working on port 17 for a strange reason) and all computers / servers connected are randomly losing the network access. Everyrhing start to be slow but most servers and computers don't lose access to the internet. Browsing a web site will suddenly take ages but... it will work eventualy.
I already used LAG on other switch without a single issue.. The only uplink I have is to the router and I know that I don't have any issue with network cables....
So what am I doing wrong ??? I didn't even try to configure the TEAMING on the servers, just creating LAG on the switch will kill everything Oo.. I'm starting to think that my SG200 is dead out of the box.
i am trying to make site to site VPN on cisco 1841 router using SDM , but I faced a strange problem . I successfully install sdm , internet browser , disabled block pop up , and java . i successfully can run SDM and configure the router using it .
BUT\ when I select VPN>>Site to site VPN >>Create Site to Site VPN tap >> and Press on Lanuch the selected task to start the creation process using the wizard Unfortunately it is not working ,, I don't know why ?
I tried with another PC , another SDM version , another browser .
I am trying to connect my PC wireless.. But I am unable to do so. I am getting the error "Configuration failed".
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble creating a network bridge between my PC and Blu Ray player via LAN connection. I have done it before, but always run in to problems. I took my computer on vacation and messed up the existing connection and settings. Last time I successfully created the connection, I stumbled upon the answer, but can't remember how I fixed it. I should say that I can create the bridge, but once I do, the wireless internet connection no longer works, and my blu ray player can't connect to the internet either. I have forced compatibility mode on the wireless network via DOS, but no luck. I did the same on the LAN connection just for the heck of it. Still no luck.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm currently staying at a marriott in NYC and at night after work the wireless access becomes awful. As a work around I've plugged the ethernet into my apple airport express and launched my wireless network as usual.Things are all fine and dandy for the first hour or so of browsing or watching netflix. But then it seems to lock up and I lose connection. I haven't seen any caps on data transfer that would explain it but is there something else I should be looking at? The fact that it works (albeit for a limited time), is a good sign I think. I'm mostly using it for my ipad to watch netflix etc.

I have 3 PCs (win7-64) connected to a wired gigabit network to achieve fast transfer of large files. Separately, at a distance, I have a modem-router to access the Internet. Internet access for the 3 PCs is achieved with each PC connected wireless to the latter modem router. The 2 networks are running OK and PCs can connect each other on both networks. Question: How can I know and achieve that the gigabit network is used for file transfers and not the slower wireless network? How should configure both routers and PCs to achieve this? I don't need the wireless setup to be a network, just to provide wireless access for each PC and that's it. I used to have the gigabit LAN configured with a Dlink DAP1522 bridge that created a single wireless connection between this wired LAn and the modem-router but it stopped working and I'm pretty done with it.

View 10 Replies View RelatedAfter a long effort I managed to get my WRVS4400N to work and provide a stable WLAN/LAN and to define all network devices in my home office. It is running the latest firmware (2.0.1).
I created a seperate SSID and a vlan for it (vlan ID is 3 and IP is 192.168.1.xxx while the default vlan IP is 192.168.0.xxx).
My plan is to use that SSID/vlan for the kids and block some bad content for them via the router there.
I want to make a ACL for that vlan but in the computer list option I can only specify ranges in the default VLAN segment (192.168.0.xxx) while in practice I need the 192.168.1.xxx segment.
I can't switch to .0.xxx as some devices are hard wired to be .1.xxx on my network.

One is wireless.3) I have been set up for about 6 months this way. 4) I use to drop the DSL connection about twice a day. I would unplug the WRTG54S and plug it back in and everything would reset and work. Then, recently it has gone to about 15 times a dayThen, we have to make a major electrical change in the building, which required us to go to generator power only for 5 days. For 5 days, we never dropped the DSL connection a single time. Power was restored. Generator sent back home. Problem is back. Dropping DSL connection again.5) Hooked up APC battery backup power smoothing device to 3 cpus, WRTG54S, and DSL modem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor the past few months my internet connection will randomly drop for about 5-10 seconds when someone else connects to the network. I am using a wired Ethernet connection and as said when someone connects either via WiFi or also through a wired connection, the internet for me will drop as soon as the device is connected, and then randomly every 20 minutes or so thereafter. I should also mention that rarely the connection will just drop for again, 5-10 seconds even when nobody else is connected.I tried my computer at someone else's house using their router and it worked fine, no disconnects at all.

I understand the concepts of each. That's not the problem. My question is, is it possible create a broadcast network (Ethernet) but also connect a router to another router via a PPP connection? Say to a specific branch for example. Just curious if you can use multipule link types.

* CPU, iPhone and iPad connected to router, CPU wired connection.Everything has worked like a charm up until a couple of days ago. Now the link between the router WAN port and the modem randomly drops. Stays dropped for 1-3 secs and then connect again. When its really bad this happens with 5-10 secs intervall. This made it impossible to use the network from any of the devices. If I disconnect the CPU from the router and connect it direcly to the modem and change the IP settings to match the modem network the CPU connects without errors to the internet, iPad and iPhone connected to the router keeps having problems.Restarting the router does not change anything and it seems to be more frequent errors during heavy load hours, in the morning I have almost no problems at all, in the evenings I cant almost use the wireless devices (CPU works fine as its now connected directly to the modem not through the router).I havent changed a setting in the last year, it just came right out of the blue.I have hard reset both the modem and the router and reconfigured them (that I dont want to do again as I have some virtual servers, port forwards, port triggers and so on :P).As it came right out of the blue without me changing anything on any device and as it seems to be more frequent during heavy load hours I'm suspecting that the ISP is involved, but how can they be (it works fine with devices connected straight to the modem)?
