Oct 7, 2012I have a media server, running Windows Server 2003, it is also acting as my Domain controller, DNS and DHCP Server, I have a website hosted at UKHost4u.com, and I can also access my media server using the name url, I have pointed this subdomain to my external IP address of my router, in the Cpanel of my hosting acount now my problem is that I can not access my main website from my house, it just sends me to the login screen of my Media Server, it is something to do with the DHCP Server running on my server, as I turned it off and turned the one on my router back on and it cleared the problem.

Jun 14, 2012I have a VPN with a number of servers where we are doing some software development. We have a TFS, Web, App and SQL Server etc.. inside a private LAN which is accessible via VPN. Nothing inside the private network can access outbound. However, I would like to open the Web Server on the private LAN to be able to be accessed via http(s).As we develop the software I want to access the site from the internet.It's a fairly simple setup.DSL > Modem > Home Lan. On the Home Lan I have a Server (2 ethernets) connected to the modem router and the other card to a hub. This server acts as the VPN server, DHCP etc.. for the Private LAN.The web server I want to be able to access from outside is the one inside the private network. Any recommendations?fyi, I'm not a networking guy, I hacked my way through setting up the private network through a number of great YouTube videos, that saved me a lot of time.

Jun 9, 2011My computer won't connect to any of Google's servers. ANY of them. Gmail, docs, reader, nothin. I can visit youtube, but I cannot get to the log-in page. EVERY other site works pretty well. Heck, even using a site that uses a Recaptcha it doesn't load the recaptcha!Nothing wrong with my hosts file.
Tracert results in 6 successful hops and then times out (I think at my ISP?)
the last 2 successful hops are
chnddsrj01-ae2.0.rd.ph.cox.net
And then
langbprj02-ae2.rd.la.cox.net
Then all time outs
My other PC is connected to the SAME wifi network right now, and I'm posting from it, and it works fine. Both are on XP. Reboots haven't worked. Happens on all browsers. Every other website I can find is just fine.

Cisco Firewall :: ASA5550 - Set Up To Access Servers?
Nov 11, 2012I am trying to set up an ASA5550 so that I can access the servers behind it. Simple.
As of now, I am unable to even create an access-list to allow traffic from my remote IP into the firewall. As far as my level of experience with Cisco firewalls, it's basically zero but I have taken the Cisco CCNAX class and feel that I have a good understanding of the fundamentals. That said, we only dealt with routers and switches, and it's not impossible that I'm missing something that would be totally obvious to most folks on this board. I've used CLI and ASDM with no success.

For security purposes, we have to allow them access to only 3 of our local internal servers, all on our 10.10.X.X/16 subnet. The remotes are being issued a 10.10.50.X/24 address via DHCP on the ASA when connecting. I thought this would be as simple as creating an access list but have not had any luck doing so. In addition, we need to allow them full access to servers in a datacenter connected to our same head end ASA via a site-to-site VPN while they are connected to us using AnyConnect.

Devices communicating between Site A and Site B have no issues (have site to site VPN configured). I'm assuming that I'm missing something in configuration - or is it not possible for VPN clients connected to the PIX firewall and access data on the other network?

Simply put, when I go to the specific URL (e.g. [URL]) I do not arrive at the splash page, I just get a message saying that the server took too long to respond in the web browser. I'm wondering whether I have missed something on the configuration or the firewall itself is not letting my requests through. The remote servers are located at a remote Disaster Recovery site and use the subnet 192.168.4.0/24. I am at head office which is connected to the DR site via a VPN using 192.168.1.0/24.

Jul 20, 2011I have configured the ASA 5505 for internet access and outside users to use two servers in the DMZ. Every thing is working fine. When I was configure VPN, I did some mistake I guess, now inside users are not able to access internet. They get an error 405. Thats an error. The request method XXX is inappropriate for the URL /. Thats all we know. Even I am not able to access the server in the DMZ from outside and I get an error : Bad Request - Invalid HeaderThese things just happend after I did some thing on the ASA. I copy and pasted the my old configuration but still insider users are not able to connect to internet and from outside I am not ableto connect to server. The weired thing is that I can user VPN with out any issues. I can connect to vpn but I cant access any internal resources. Even inside users are able to ping internet addresses with out any issue.
