How do I connect my Sony Blu-ray S390 to access my computer files only without an internet connection through my Gateway all in one Zx4800 computer. I tried making my own wifi connection by going to Network and sharing center then Setup a new connection or network. When check to see if it shows on the bluray network settings I dont see the connection that I made?

MySony BDPS570 will not pick up the wireless signal from my router which is sited about 12 feet away through two breeze block walls. A laptop placed next to the BDPS570 has no difficulty in making a connection. In the past I have overcome this problem by using two Netgear AV200 Powerline devices. However, I now require the Powerlines for a TalkTalk Youview connection and am looking for a cheap and elegent method of reconnecting the BDPS570. I could just buy another ethernet cable and swap it for the Youview one when I want to use the 570 but that seems a bit of a fag

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Sony Bravia HD TV with wireless internet capabilities. When I try to connect to my wireless internet. The TV finds our wireless router name, but when we try to finally connect wirelessly it gives the following message: TV wi-fi found, local access failed and network access failed. The router we have is a Netgear PK500.
On the TV we have three differant ways for the tv to locate the router they are by scanning, the WPS button and by entering the WPS pin. We've tried all three and got the above message.

I have in my basement a router (DLink DIR-655) which is connecting to our ISP, and I have cables running to wall jacks in the first floor. A wall jack which terminates in the living room I have connected to a switch, a DLink 10/100/1000 (DGS-1005G). To this I have my PS3 connected which can connect to the internet fine (although it seems to not get the same upload / download speeds other devices get) and my Sony Bravia TV (KDL-46Z5100). The PS3 registers as GB, while the TV 100MB (its port lights orange).
The problem is I can't get the TV to connect to the internet. If I try DHCP, it doesn't seem to find the DNS server (on another switch connected to the same router in a different room). If I hard code the IP address, still nothing.
I found that if I connect the TV directly into the wall, it can connect. It's just through the switch I'm having problems. Additionally, even I then plug it back into the switch and connect the switch to the wall jack, the connect continues to work. It just seems that i can't get it initialize when connected to the switch.

Router is one level below where the home theater system is located, and signal strength appears good (4 bars) on the Blu-ray player, but it repeatedly says "connection failed" when I try to connect. The Wii is also in the same place and has no problems connecting wirelessly to the WRT110 router.

I can't get my Sony VAIO to connect to the Internet via wireless or ethernet. It was working fine and then suddenly lost all Internet connectivity. Under the status it says "connected with limited access." I have an iPad and my smartphone running on the network so I know it's not a network issue.

I have read a lot of posts and one here was sort of the same. The problem is I get the 169.254.72.161 which I understand is what it sets to when it won't connect to the router and get a new Ip address. I haven't been able to manually put the ip in. Also even connecting with the cable direct to the modem/router still doesn't connect.The member who also had this problem was with his xp win computer. Just bought a Sony Bravia KDL-46EX723 today and i am currently trying to connect it to my BT home hub via a "wired set up". BT home hub does not seem to be detecting the TV at all, when i try to do an auto set up it searches for a while and then comes back with, cable connection:failed, local access:failed, internet access:failed.I have went on to my network page to see if it was connecting to anything else and it is finding my external hardrive no problem via the Ethernet cable.I have tried looking at my computer IP details and adding them manually to the TV, but no joy, just comes back with the same errors.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm currently experiencing an issue where the on/off switch to my Sony Vaio VPCCW21FX is currently a little bit loose. I don't recall ever applying any type of shock to the computer but realized when I pulled it out of my bag, it was somewhat loose which was strange because I always handled my laptop with great care. So I'm attempting to connect to my WiFi network and when trying to turn it on and off, I don't get a response from the computer indicating it's now ready to search for a network, it acts like I intentionally turned off the WiFi and kept it off even though I have it turned to off.
I attempted to run the troubleshooting process on the laptop but it states that I need to turn on my WiFi to fix the issue but I already have it switched to on.
Now I know at this time that I wouldn't be able to get this repaired without being charged an arm and a leg so I wanted to see if it was possible to turn on the WiFi from within the laptop, somewhat like using software to turn it on instead of the hardware on/off switch for the wireless connection.

i have a sony vaio VPC, with windows 7 home premium, just 3 weeks old. when it starts up and starts detecting the wireless, most of the time it crashes and goes to the blue screen. sometimes it tries to connect and cannot, and then when i hit connect it crashes, or it crashes when i hit repair. after 2 or 3 times of going to the blue screen, it connects to wireless and works. but if i restart it crashes again (or not). i don't know what to do! there is no authorized sony repair center in the country. i dont know what to do

We have AT&T U-Verse and the 2 gateways get speeds of ~12Mb/s while I get speeds of less than 3Mb/s. I've searched countless forums but I can't seem to find the problem.
