If I don't enter proper info (like leave the ports blank) I get an error if I press 'save', asking me to finish entering all the required info.

I've downloaded the firmware update 111125 and followed the instructions. The progress bar reaches 100% but the router doesn't seem to restart (judging by the status lights on the front). It does ask me to log back in but when I check the firmware version, it still reads 100722. I also tried factory default settings after the update. Still it reads 100722. I've tried the update 3 times now.

I need to set up an Internal and Guest WLAN. Out of security reason I'd like to separate both networks with VLAN's. Therefore I bought this Router TD-W8961ND and this Access Point TL-WA901ND.
SSID1 = AP1 -> VID 1 (Internal network) SSID2 = AP2 -> VID 2 (Guest network)
How do i need to set up the router that both networks can use the Internet, but only AP1 can see the other internal computers?

We need to replace the old modem for a small hotel, at the same time we are trying to expand the open (and free) public wifi that we currently offer in the bar area. Before our current modem/router went *PFFFT*, we had managed to get quite decent coverage using the 5 TP repeaters (TL-WA830RE) - but it was ALOT of work. Now we're hoping to replace with a TP modem to make the wifi setup easier. We also have 3 pc's, two wired and one wireless, that are for hotel use. We would like to keep these as separate and as safe as possible from the guest wireless, and i have been told VLAN is the best way to go.So, from what i have read on its spec's, the TD-W8961ND has both VLAN and QoS (which we would also like). It is also well within our price range.Given the setup we wish to implement, is the W8961ND the right idea? What considerations do i need to be bearing in mind for setup?

I have a TD-W8961ND that I got for my Dads internet connection to replace the awful Zyxel Modem/router. Problem is that the TD-W8961ND is Annex A (euroDOCSIS)We actually needed a TD-W8961NB - Annex B (DOCSIS)I already know that it is possible to convert other routers from A to B and vice versa...Just wondering if there is any way of either cross flashing or if there is a conversion firmware for this router.

how to configure QOS on the TD-W8961ND so that the sip packets from a Linksys SPA2102 VOIP ATA which gets its IP address from the DHCP server in the TD-W8961ND is given priority over all other traffic regardless of whether such traffic comes from devices connected via ethernet or wireless to the TD-W8961ND. A couple of weeks ago I have bought a TD-W8961ND in replacement of my old modem/router (of another brand, to upgrade from Wireless G to N). I tried to replicate in the new router something similar to my old setup, so I programmed Virtual Servers (under the NAT menu) with the following rules: NATRules.jpg in an attempt to:
- grant access from "outside" Internet to my web server
- have a Wakeup-On-LAN from "outside" Internet ..etc.. without success. Please note that:
- I have successfully setup a DDNS server to reach my modem router from outside
- as for WOL, I defined my subnet mask as 255.255.255.128
- I have not set any other rule, nor in NAT, nor in routing or other
- I tried also with firewall disabled
- I do my testing by means of a smartphone with wireless disabled and Internet connection via mobile service provider
- Both the above mentioned functions were working with my old modem/router (and still work on LAN), and I have not changed other things (PC setup etc)

I enter the usual "admin" and password in the login box. 3 goes and then get error message. or hangs on waiting.(connected to the router with Ethernet Cable). Could this be a windows based problem. I think it was ok on XP but that is gone now. Router is working fine but I just cant access it to alter any settings.
My 2 other spare routers which are not TP-link also have the same problem.

I have just bought this ADSL router. Of course, the first thing I did was upgrade the firmware, or so I thought. It seems that the firmware on the TP website is older than the one which was pre-installed onto the router.Website Firmware: 3.0.0 Build 120524 Rel.05221 ------------- i.e. 24.May.2012 Release 05221.Pre-loaded Firmware on router: 3.0.0 Build 120808 Rel.28888 -------------- i.e. 8.August.2012 Release 28888.I have foolishly uploaded the older firmware to the router from the website. I wanted to see what version number showed in the Router's Firmware page so I did a ROM backup, thinking I could always reload the "current" firmware. As it turns out, the ROM file is just the user settings backup.
It is sad that TP-Link doesn't provide change logs. Where to find later firmwares, or even what the change to the firmware was?And when we can expect a new firmware to be uploaded to the website?

I had Purchased a brand new TP-Link WifI Modem Router TD-W8961ND with S/N : 12CB5200872 from [URL] and it got delivered few days back. When I am trying to connect it to the internet the modem is not getting connected nor configured. The Power button light, ADSL Light and internet light are continuously blinking and nothing is getting steady. The modem is appearing to be a damaged piece of modem and it is very unfortunate that we have got a modem from flipkart in an unserviceable condition. It came with a warranty of 03 years and I wanted a replacement so that I can use the modem for connecting internet.
In datasheet of WS-SUP720-3B - link- was said that are only supported around 256K routes (fib?rib?).With this value I can't get 2 full bgp - that is around 850K ..
The supervisor is that control this or just memory ? I said this because I have a 7204-npe-g1 whith 2 fullrouting and 1G of and he are ok..

I have an Optus Home Zone (mobile cell tower) that requires ports open.
Port 123 UDP 500 UDP 4500 UDP
I have assigned the Home Zone a Static IP outside the DHCP range and set the above Ports on the NAT, Virtual servers to that IP address.
I have used nmap to scan the ports and it provides open/filtered status for all of them.
Here is the kicker for me, i use a DGN3500 netgear (which keeps dropping WiFi hence its replacement) and enter the ports and it works straight away. Un plug and put the Tp-Link and nothing.
I use Eset Smart Security, could that be the problem?

* The C610 is directly connected to TD W8968 via the ethernet port number 3 >> ethernet port number 1 is connected to the devolo homeplug 200AVPLUS . The PC is at the other end of the homeplug network
* The DHCP address starts at 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.199.
Symptom:
1. It takes a long time (about 2-3 minutes) for the C610IP to obtain the IP address of 192.168.1.100 after the synchronisation of the ADSL line is finished 2. In the DHCP client list, I could only see the IP address of the PC (192.168.1.101) but not the C610 IP. However, if I type 192.168.1.100, I could access to the configuration page of the C610 IP. - I only managed to see the C610IP once in the DHCP client list.
I tried to unplug -> replug the router but to no avail.

I made some changes on my wireless modem router to stop dhcp and dns provided by my device. A server is now doing it, but at the same time I appear to have connection issues where I didn't before. In an attempt to resolve the issues I looked at the System Log and a number of things were coming up that concerned me. These are as follows:
-user: tr69c: Unable to retrieve attributes in scratch PAD
-user: Stored Parameter Attribute data is corrupt or missing
Additionally I'm getting a lot of kernel: Intrusion alerts which I can't determine how serious they are. Where to start tracking down these issues (if they even warrant investigation).
This is on a DIR-655, firmware 2.01NA, hardware rev B1.Is there a limit on the number of DHCP reservations that can be added to this WAP?This WAP was working fine with 10 DHCP reservations (wired & wireless devices), 6 schedules, Access control of 2 devices by MAC (6 defined, only 2-3 active at a time).I started adding additional DHCP reservations, because I'm simplifiying my network, and when I add the 26th DHCP reservation I get the message "Schedule rules is Full! Please Delete an Entry."
I've been adding all of the new DHCP reservations as disabled, but I haven't assigned any schedules or otherwise to these new devices yet. So what's up with this message??

My comany is planning get full bgp table from our providers we have mutliple egress providers in order to load balance we are looking for a full table from all of them what would be minumu requiremts we have all edges as 6500 with sup 720 ,is there any memory requrements that need to be upgraded ??
I've inherited a project building an internet connectivity solution for a large corporate. It has its own AS and its own PI space. They are putting in 100Mbit connections from 5 different Tier1's , taking full internet routing from each. Cisco ASR1002's have already been specified and purchased for the job. I'm not familiar with the ASR platform at all - is it up to the job with full routing tables? multiple instances of full tables ? (not likely to put all 5 into one box!)
I'm looking for a Cisco device to run a full BGP table with a 60Mb link. And one of the main restrictions is that my traffic is almost 100% real-time (voip). So the average packet size is small. Today we own a Cisco 7204 NPE400 with 512Mb RAM. I think even though I upgrade it to a G2, due to the small average packet size, the router will be near to its limit. Maybe a Cisco 7300 NSE-150? Or should I think about a switch?
