View 8 Repliessetup a web server at home but just found out yesterday that my ISP is blocking port 80 on my network and they won't open it unless i upgrade my internet service... which i am not sure if there is any other way get this solved. If I port forward my site at my web server to (let say) 85, when someone type [URL] (with 80 by default), will it be somewhat in the cloud or some server to NAT 80 to 85 at my site? In short, can one type [URL] instead of [URL] ?
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy WRT54G has been configured to block any and all incoming connections.continue to have disabled all port forwarding, port triggering, the DMZ, and QoS, via the applicable tabs under the [Applications & Gaming] Panel. The WRT54G continues to be configured to operate as a Gateway. No static routes are defined. The routing table show four entries, none of which are remarkable or match in anyway the partial address identified above. So I am under the impression that my WRT54G should be ignoring everything from the WAN-side.Even pinging the WAN-side of my router from the outside internet times out.My WRT54G ver 6 is at firmware level 1.02.8, which, as far as I can tell is the latest issued by Cisco.I am completely perplexed how such a connection is being established, and do not know if it is or has the potential of causing any harm. My own research indicates port 520 is typically used for RIP protocol, but I have almost zero knowledge of such.

Configuration used, is the following:
monitor session 1 type erspan-source
no shut
source interface GigabitEthernet0/0/2
destination
erspan-id 10
ip address 10.10.10.1

Apparently everything is configured in the proper way, however I’m not getting any traffic in the destination port. Also I’ve noticed the following in the details from ‘Session 1’:

how to configure Local SPAN using ERSPAN?
I have an ASA5505 that I am setting up behind another firewall. The external firewall has all ports forwarded to the ASA which is fine as I can see the traffic getting to the ASA in the log. However when the traffic trys to return to it's destination the ASA assigns a random port number. For example for VPN the source port is 443 but when the ASA trys to go back to the public IP addess it is using port 52857 which is obviously blocked on the external firewall. The Packet Tracer also says the the traffic is blocked by an implicit rule on the ASA which denys all ip traffic however I can't delete this rule and as I test I have created another rule allowing all IP traffic.

So port 22 is blocked to the outside world. Is there a way for me to get an SSH connection to my server? (ie: SSH tunneling or so?)by the way, websites with advanced web based SSH javascript(s) such as serFISH are blocked as well.

I'd rather get some advice on the firewall or other options in my router. Btw, I am using AVG free edition, and I am pretty sure there is no firewall in that version, but there might be something I have to disable in order for this to work ?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI'll try to keep it short. On this Games For Windows Live game (Dawn Of War II) I can connect to and play on the internet just fine. Enabled port 3074 and 88 so that GFWL wouldn't have any problems connecting to my computer. Port 3074 has an issue however. With the PortForward testing program (Open Port Check - PortForward.com), whenever I check port 3074 outside the game, both UDP and TCP show green and are forwarded correctly. However when I'm in the game, alt-tab, and run the test again, it shows UDP red after testing, indicating it's not forwarded correctly.I think I know precisely what the problem is; either something in GFWL or the game itself is blocking port 3074. But why it's doing this, and how to find out what it is, I really have no idea.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've cloned the configuration off one of my ASA5510's to another 5510 to use as a template for a new data center deploy. I have configured the new firewalls networks and rules, and of course changed the WAN IP config to its new setting.
I want to test the firewall in y office before I deploy it. How should I configure my Macbooks ethernet configuraiton to test the firewall?, as I have tried without success to connect to it.
Let's say that my WAN configuration is 134.5.169.98/255.255.255.224 with a static route of IP address 0.0.0.0, Netmask 0.0.0.0 and a gateway IP of 134.5.169.97.
I've tried setting the route to force all traffic through the interface (sudo route add 0.0.0.0/1 134.5.169.98), but that did not work either. A trace route to the external interface IP of the firewall (or the external IP of an expose server) get's a "no route to host" error.
I've tried many configurations and have not been able to access the internal servers/services/VPN at all.I've also tried with a cross over, and straight through cables.
What should I configure my macbooks network configuration as so I can connect directly to the WAN port to test external access to the internal servers/services and test the VPN client?
The problems looks like this: I'm able to browse the web without any problems until at random points of time - might be 2 hours after I turn on my PC or 5 or even half an hour the port 80 gets blocked - actually more like it hangs it self. As whatever I try to open i get "waiting for response" going and going. It's not even returning "page not found" error or anything. To top everything all other ports work fine - i can use https, ping run tracert - no problem there.
I've spend two days looking for some answer on the web but came up empty. I've scanned for malicious software with ad-awar and malwarebyte anit-malware - nothing came up. After restart of the pc everything comes back to normal but its frustrating needing to do that every now and then.
My home network looks like this: I have some broadband modem that is connected to local wifi TP-LINK router (Model No. TL-WR340G/TL-WR340GD). There are four devices using this connection - two pc's (laptops), android phone and android tablet.
We are upgrading out internal office network. I have setup 4 switches and 1 router using the following config.
-2 SGE2010p's are stacked together forming vlan 30 (to be used for phones)
-2 SGE2010's stacked for workstation's under vlan 20
Both switches are apart of vlan 1 (the default)Ports 1 on each stack are connected to a Cisco 890 (port fe2 and fe3) in trunk mode. Ports 2 and 3 are in an LAG group and connected to the neighboring stack (I have attached a diagram), and are also in trunk mode). At this point one port (port 1 on either stack) goes into blocking mode, and I get why ,it's a physical loop.I need more than a 100mb link between switches (which is what pulling the LAG between switches gets me), but I don't want to route phone traffic through my workstation switches to get out of the LAN.Is it possible using these switches and router to have a LAG between stacks and a link to the router for traffic to 0.0.0.0 ?
Question re: DIR-655; Hardware ver A4; Firmware version 1.32NA
During bandwidth tests to several sites (principally speedtest.net) I get ping times of 10-11 ms, download speeds of 12+ to 17+ mbps but failure on upload tests using my DIR-655.
When I bypass the 655 and test directly with my cable modem, all (including upload) tests work reliably and consistently.
I have swapped the two ethernet cables involved as well as replacing both with new cables but the results are the same (uploads fail with 655 and work without it)
I have seen several postings over the the last year with this same problem but have never seen any comment from D-Link, or a solution from any reader.
Not that it should have any bearing, but I have TA785GE-128M motherboard and am running Windows 7 (patch current) on COMCAST
is this problem acknowledged by D-Link and is there a solution?
I have a Cisco CBS3020-HPQ chassis switch running IOS 12.2.(25r)SEF3. One of the ports is in "disabled" state but when I try to unshut it, it doesn't work, the switch logs shows the following event:
%PLATFORM_ENV-3-LOOPBACK_PORT_POST_ERR: Gi0/1 can't be brought up because it failed POST in Loopback test
how do I resolve this, the port is unusable since I can not get it out "disabled" state.
when doing the downloadupload test in UTorrent program it claims my port is not open (Default 17690). After I plugged my machine directly to the modem (suspect of port forwarding not working), after removing the antivirus I have, and after adding to my firewall inbounds rule regarding to that port, I still fail on the test.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 2 switch groups.
2 SGE2010's with VLAN's defined as 10,20 and 30
Vlan 10 is the management VLAN, and it uplinks to our border router.Vlan 20 is the workstation VLAN, and all workstations point to the switch as their default GW? Vlan 30 is the ip phone VLAN, and all phones use this as their gateway.
I would like to put a LAG between said switches, we have some servers on the ip phone switch that need to be accessed by the workstation clients, and the single 100mb link through the router is probably not going to be enough. As I understand it, because the switches have different networks on them, a simple lag will not work. I did create a lag, and assign ip addresses to each side, however in that mode, it doesn't appear I can block vlan 10 from transiting the LAG, and with out that block I will end up with a logical loop, and spanning-tree will block one of the uplinks, or the LAG itself.
I have several Cisco switches connecting our network. Switch N connects to the gateway, Switches Y & Z connect to some hosts. Switch N connects to Y and Y connects to Z. Assume our gateway IP is a Class B address with a netmask of 255.255.254.0 and all the hosts attached on switches Y & Z have static IP addresses assigned to them. This gateway connects to the internet. In addition to this IP address, some of the hosts also have a second IP address assigned to the same NIC. This IP is Class A (10.0.###.###) and have a netmask of 255.255.0.0 A second gateway address is not defined.
The hosts that have 2 IP's bound to their nic, use the 10. address to communicate with each other. (Programs running on the hosts are specifically configured to use 10. address).I have several questions regarding this setup:
1) Assume Host has only 1 IP (Class B) - if the destination is on the same network, does the host system send the packet to the gateway first to find the destination on the network or does the host send a "where are u" packet to the broadcast address to find the destination?
2) Assume Host as 2 IPs (Class A & B) - if the destination is a 10. address, how does the host go about finding it?
Since there is no Gateway defined for the Class A address, does the host simply send out a packet to the broadcast address for the Class A network? or does it go to the gateway defined in the Class B network as it was defined first (i'm assuming primary connection)
3) Assume Switch N's connection to Switch Y is disabled - how will this affect communication between hosts on Switches Y & Z that have a 10. IP trying to share data with each other, using the 10. Address. If the answer is this should not affect it, what additional circumstances are required that may cause the systems with a 10. address to be unable to communicate when the connection from Switch Y to N is terminated?]
I have a situation which requires some non best practice stuff to be done. There is a box behind an ASA that has a lot of code that references public DNS names and therefore needs access to itself and a number of other boxes on the same subnet via the public DNS names (that obviously resolve to public IPs). This traffic is dropped on some pretty fundamental ASA characteristics.I know this isn't really ideal, and it should be handled by DNS nstead, but I'm in somewhat of a bind and need to know if the ASA can allow this traffic.I figure I could match the traffic and exempt it from state-checking and that would probably work, but it's not a very graceful solution.

View 1 Replies View Relateda) one router with two ethernet interfaces (LANs) and a serial interface. The serial interface is connected to the internet, dynamic nat is used for hosts in the two lans. A web server has a private address of 172.168.50.10 and it is being translated to the internet with serial's interface 68.32.x.x (public ip) with static nat. Clients in the internet type the public address to access the web server.
b)Problem: clients inside the LANs cannot access the web server by typing the public address, they use the server's private address instead, this create a problem with DNS static entries in the HOSTS file in the OS. It is a test server and is only available to authenticated users (lock and key ACLs), so no need to make a real DNS record. The entry in the HOSTS file points to the public address.
c)Question: how can a create a route map to change the public address in the HOST file to the private address of the test web server everytime a user in the LANs type the domain name.
Here is a snippet from "show ip cache flow", from a border router of our network; [code] To clarify, Gi0/3 faces our customers, Fa1/0 faces a transit provider. These results have come from configuring "ip flow egress" on Fa1/0, facing the transit provider. 1.2.3.4 is a static IP we have assigned a customer. I know this customer has a firewall terminating this connection so I want to understand the cache flow results on this route. Why is the destination address an RFC1918 address? Is it possible that the customers firewall is trying to connect to these addresses, the flow gets as far as this border router, and drops? I assume that to be false, and only successfully initiated flows are recorded?
Also, looking at those figures it's IP protocol 0x11 which is UDP (17) and source port 62023 to destination port 161. 161 is SNMP? Without asking the customer what they are doing I suppose I can never know at that level, but I'm really more interested in why these flows are showing at all, when 192.168.1.0/24 isn't in this routers FIB?
