I have a Cisco CBS3020-HPQ chassis switch running IOS 12.2.(25r)SEF3. One of the ports is in "disabled" state but when I try to unshut it, it doesn't work, the switch logs shows the following event:
%PLATFORM_ENV-3-LOOPBACK_PORT_POST_ERR: Gi0/1 can't be brought up because it failed POST in Loopback test
how do I resolve this, the port is unusable since I can not get it out "disabled" state.
I am having issues with 'telnet' on port 2821 to a range of servers connecting through vlan interface from my core switch 6513 running s72033_rp-DVIPSERVICESK9_WAN-VM) version 12.2(33)SXH7, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3). The telnet on port 1556 and 13724 is ok.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a C2960-24TT-L Switch with the following problem:When the Power Cord is plugged in the Switch, all switch indicator LEDs go on very briefly. Then SYST LED blinks very briefly, goes on steady and remains at this state without any indication at the console.Tried the reset by holding the MODE button while plugging in power but I still get no indication at the console. All is fine with console, meaning that if I take out the cable and plug it in another switch, then I see all that there is there to be seen.My question: Is the switch beyond repair or is there something that can be done to get the switch to run POST and boot at rommon so that I can reload SW and configs?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI pulled a brand new Cisco 3850 Switch out of the box yesterday. Following the Quick Start Guide, I put in the power module, powered it on, and waited for it to complete POST. Then, I plugged in an Ethernet cable between a laptop and the switch on a port in the front, and went to the web interface at https://10.0.0.1. I got to the Express Setup, and attempted to change the IP address of the switch to an IP on my LAN, along with other options. When clicking submit, it didn't appear to take. Upon refreshing in the Express Setup, the IP config was blank, so I once again configured it. This time clicking submit brought up a message that it was changing the IP address. I waited for it to finish, and when it looked done, I powered the switch off and took it to a different room to hook it up to the LAN for further configuration.
When plugging in the power at that point, the switch starts through the normal light process (System LED blinks green slowly), and then eventually the System LED blinks green very fast and never stops. It doesn't get to the point of having the system loaded and ready to log into. There's no amber lights, just the System LED flashing green fast. On the back, the Power module and all bay lights are green, and the Console light is green, but the Management port light is off.
I've tried using the reset button on the back of the switch two different times to reset it to default configuration, thinking I hosed it somehow, but it never goes past the fast blinking System LED.
I have 2 - WS-C2960-24TT-L switches. Both are experiencing the same issue. Upon booting them up, all lights flash on the mode indicator panel, then it goes directly to a solid green "SYST" light. Nothing registers across the console cable. I have tried different baud rates, cables and computers. None of the ports come up regardless of how long either switch is powered on. Holding the Mode button during boot up produces the same result, nothing. Sounds like they are dead, however, I thought this would be the place to go for ideas. Can I revive these switches?

When I run an Intel diagnostic tool (Intel� PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility) I get a failure at the "association test". [Trying to figure out how to post a screen shot. I'll post it when I do.

I have a new WRVS4400N VPN router and have set it up for VPN. On a separate computer I have a Verizon EVDO card so I have used that with a separate computer to access the internet on a public, routable IP address off of my network.
When I use the QuickVPN client, I wasn't able to get into my network (using ddyns.org) because I didn't have the "BLOCK WAN REQUEST" setting disabled so the router could be ping'd. Once I did that, I verified I could successfuly ping my ddyns name abc.xyz.com.
In the error log of the QuickVPN client, I still see:

I HAVE been able to make the connection successfully without any other changes to the environment. It's hit or miss, but usually a miss. Restarting QuickVPN sometimes works on the next try, but then fails if I disconnect and try again. Even when that ping error message is appearing, I am able to ping the host name at a command prompt without a problem.
Is something else on the router possibly blocking the ping requests?My router is behind a Westell F90 6100 DSL modem operating in bridge mode. The 4400 is obtaining the WAN address from Verizon(DSL) and that is also where I have my PPOE info entered to obtain the internet connection.
I am trying to create a Script to reload my cisco 1941 router when a ping test has failed.I am using IP SLA to ping and tracking snmp oid. What I want to do is to stop the router from reloading after 4 times if the ping test is still failing . But when the ping are successful again to restart the applet. View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to configure a 3750G that has been sitting on the shelf for several months and am getting the following error -
% Error: Unable to create flash:/microcode_update% Error: It must not already exist
Normally, getting an error during POST isnt a good thing. My first thought was that flash was corrupted or flagged RO somehow. I did fsck flash: with no change. I next tried fsck /test flash:. It tested 77 blocks and performed 0 erasures. It had been running for about 15 minutes with no problems reported so far. Multiple reboots of the switch still report the same error.
I have reviewed the history of what I have done on this switch and finally think I found the problem. I noticed a microcode_update directory that I am not used to see on a 3750. Deleted the directory using the rmdir command and rebooted the switch. On reboot, I noticed that a front_end/ directory was listed as being created as well as fe_type_1 and fe_type_2 were created. The switch now boots up without any errors.
At first I tried to port forward 25565 on my D-Link Router account, but that didn't work for anyone trying to connect through the External IP.
People can connect locally over my network and I can connect to the game via localhost, but like I said, no friends from abroad.
I've checked my External IP and that doesn't work, I've tried resetting my router to factory default and then reinstalling the firmware for the model, that didn't work. I tried removing the firewall altogether, and also just allowing 25565, but that didn't work. I also got my friend to take their firewall off as well.
(Also, it should be known, when I'm port forwarding I'm allowing access, and have 25565 set in both TCP and UDP. I tested to see if the port was open on Open Port Check Tool, but it said it was closed (connection timed out) even though I had it forwarded)
The last few days I've been exploring options in getting rid of some old routers accross a wan connections. I have a cat 3560 to play with and I thought I would try and use the no switchport command test out routing with switch. I've got some type of route issue and I tried a few things which I thought would fix the issue but had no effect. I'll post the config and a few commands so you can see what the basic setup is.
Here we can see in the arp that it knows about both 10.7.1.2 (PC unable to ping 10.3.3.254) as well as 10.3.3.254 (ASA).I tried adding in a ip route of 10.7.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.3.3.110 as well as 10.3.3.254. I used VLC for my test.When i connect source (224.10.10.10) and recever ( Udp://@224.10.10.10:1234), that's ok!But, source is on the Vlan 200 and reicever on the Vlan 130, is not good!I test with "sparse-mode", i have same problem.
My Comtrend WAP5813n router, seems to be failing at port forwarding as I have configured it to forward ports,all the port checkers (offline and online) say those ports are open, yet I cannot access through them,it just fails to forward them(My server isn't blocking anything because it has worked on a previous router).

We are trying to test multicast between VRFs configured on Nexus 7Ks. Two Nexus 7Ks are configured for VPC. Multicast Server is in one VRF where as Receiver is in another VRF. The two VRFs are connected to each other via Checkpoint Firewall (Active/Active cluster in unicast mode). All routes have been established and connectivity tested between multicast server and receiver using ICMP.Using, windows mcast.exe multicast stream is generated from server (in one VRF) intended to be received by receiver (in second VRF). Every time, only one multicast packet is received by the receiver and rest all packets are being dropped. Server and Receiver are VirtualMachines configured on VMWaresame chassis which is connected to two Nexus 5Ks (VPC configured).

As far as I know, DNAT can be made with prerouting and SNAT can be made with postrouting, so I think prerouting is for input and postrouting is for output, but the material I'm reading (and another sources) are not clear.

I have two VLANs - 10 and 20. 2 DHCP pools are configured on 2 1841's interfaces - 192.168.1.0 /25 and 192.168.1.128/26 with default router sitting on 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.129 respectively. No issues with obtaining IP address from any of those pools.Laptop connects to L3 3550 switch (switchport access vlan 10), which, in turn, connects to 1841 router through trunk (with VLANs 10 and 20 allowed).3550 is connected to 2960 through trunk with VLANs 10 and 20 allowed.Wireless router is connected to 2960.I can successfully ping my wireless router and outside world from 1841 from fa0/1 interface, but not from fa0/1.10 or fa0/1.20 sub-interfaces - all packets got dropped. I dont understadn how this works but basically I have enabled dhcp or so I thought bu clients dont get a lease. The vlan does but clients connecting to the switchports attached to the vlan do not get a lease and cant connect to anything. If I static the ip or use my server to issue dhcp then it's fine still some issues since I am cluceless but I dont understand what I have to do to get dhcp to work on the fa0-3 ports.

View 5 Replies View Relatedin my simple network setup, I cannot resolve DNS queries from inside my NATted network. On the router I can ping both IP-addresses and names. Ping from the local machine works for IP-Adresses but not for names. When doing nslookup, addresses are not found and a SERVFAIL message is returned. I use a Cisco ISR 861 Router to connect our local LAN to the Internet (The WAN of the 861 is connected to another DHCP/NAT-Router, which in turn connects to the ISP-Modem). Addresses in the local LAN are DHCP-distributed, the DNS-Servers from my ISP are configured on the Router and the DNS-Information is distributed correctly to my local LAN machines (as I can verify by doing nslookup on Linux).
