I would like to be able to use NAT loopback on a Cisco EPC3925 so that I can refer from my iPad to the webserver that is located on my iMac on the same LAN by using the external site name. Is that possible and if so, how can I configure the router?
View 2 RepliesI have a Cisco CBS3020-HPQ chassis switch running IOS 12.2.(25r)SEF3. One of the ports is in "disabled" state but when I try to unshut it, it doesn't work, the switch logs shows the following event:
%PLATFORM_ENV-3-LOOPBACK_PORT_POST_ERR: Gi0/1 can't be brought up because it failed POST in Loopback test
how do I resolve this, the port is unusable since I can not get it out "disabled" state.
I have a redundant Cisco EPC2425 that I want to use as a wireless bridge to connect to my current home router (an EPC3925).
I have got the channels/band/keys matching yet the 2425 is failing to connect to my home router. I have set the 2425 in bridge mode and currently can only set the wireless properties.
I have both ends of the supposed bridge referencing the other's MAC.
When I try to enter advanced settings on the 2425 I get a notice that the function has not been enabled.
What can I try to get these two boxes talking to each other?
I would like to be able to limit a group of users to certain sites but am encountering problems. I logged into the Cisco EPC3925 config menu, clicked on Access Restrictions and, under Basic Rules modified the '1.
Default' rule as follows:
I enabled Parental Control
Key word List: anonymizer (came up by default)
Blocked Domain List: *.*
Allowed Domain List: a list of domains, eg [URL]
On the tab User Setup I have the following:
'1. Default': no enabled
'2. User': Enabled, Content Rule: '1. Default'
'3. su': Trusted User: Enabled
When I log onto a website I am presented with a prompt asking me for username and password. I enter the credentials of '2. User' and proceed to a screen that tells me that I am logged in. My problem is that this user is able to surf to any website and not only to those in the allowed list.The firmware of my EPC is epc3925-ESIP-16-v302r125533-110811c.
I have an EuroDOCSIS 3.0 cable modem from UPC Romania. It's a Cisco EPC3925, wireless modem.
My problem is that most of the time (like 80% of the time) when someone is starting or closing a PC that is connected using a wire, the whole internet crashes (wired PCs get a ! sign and the internet stops working and wireless PCs are getting disconnected completely from the network being unable to reconnect). This is solved by restarting the modem (unplugging/replugging it) or waiting for it to reconnect. I want to mention that during this process the modem lights show that everything is ok and nothing special happens.
First of all I called UPC technical support and the man there said that I should try to disable the firewall from the modem (which I had disabled already), if it won't work then to try to reset the modem to the factory settings (as I was thinking to do - because I configured the settings as I wished) and if this won't work then calling them back to change the modem.
I tried to reset to the factory settings and that didn't work at all after running tests over one week. After that I called UPC and they said that the modem is for sure the problem, they sent a technician (today) who also said that the modem is the problem. Ok ok, the technician replaced it and everything seemed to be good.
30 minutes ago my father started his PC and what should I see? Bam, internet crashing. 5 minutes ago i closed as well my PC and what should I see? The internet crashing again.
I am trying to wireless repeat the wifi signal of my cisco epc3925 wifi modem. The router i am using as extender is a netgear wndr3700. i dont have much knowledge about these thing and am losing so much time by trying to get it working. everytime i apply the settings in the netgear i am unable to connect to it (even wired) and have to hard reset it...attached are some screen shots of both devices from last settings I tried.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just signed up to a local Irish Internet provider and was supplied with a Cisco router EPC3925. Wireless is working fine for laptop and iPad. However I cannot share my iTunes library with Apple TV. I connected the Ethernet cable and it worked perfectly. However as soon as I disconnect, so too does the home sharing. I've disabled windows firewall and completely uninstalled macafee firewall. Im using windows vista and have the latest version of iTunes installed.

Can i do it? its working fine with physical interfaces but not with loop back. This loop back is reachable and from router A if i telnet the loopback IP of B it actually gets me to Router B as well.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a setup with a few sites that have layer three switches behind firewalls. I've been successful in setting up GRE tunnels between all the layer three switches, the GRE traverses IPsec which goes between the firewalls at each site. That way, the GRE is encrypted over the Internet and I don't have to deal with protocol forwarding and stuff. The GRE tunnels are terminated at the loopback addresses of each layer three switch, this works well for the most part, except that I need to put static routes for each loopback address in each switch to point via the firewalls, because when OSPF comes up over the GRE tunnels it starts advertising the loopbacks, and as such the switches think they can get to them over the GRE (which is built from the loopbacks to begin with), as you can see, sort of a catch 22. The static route method works fine, but it makes it so that I can't access the loopback address for monitoring/management purposes from any other sites on the basis that the local core tries to send it directly to the firewall rather than over the GRE tunnel. Is there any way to force only the GRE traffic out via the firewall while letting any other loopback-destined traffic go over the GRE? I'm thinking this could be done with a properly-matching route-map, but I'm not sure where I would apply it, could I apply it directly to the loopback or would the GRE traffic skip that on the way out?

I've got some 1941 ciscos set on every branch.We have native L2 between this offices and I want to use external ip addresses on gig 0� interfaces anfdf local ip addresses on lo 0 interfaces, and use lo 0 for vpn connections.

I can ping it from local network behind giga 0/1 but i can't ping it fro outside, how can i do this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working at a client site today. The client has a large Frame Relay Hub Spoke network. The Hub is at the HQ location, and then there are about 15 spoke sites in remote offices.
We are having an issue with the frame between the HQ and one of the spokes. We are currently working with our dear friends at AT&T to troubleshoot the issue. AT&T yesterday was trying to run a local loop test to the router at the remote (spoke) end. We were working iwth them in trying to put the remote router (which we manage) into a loopback mode. How can we put the subinterface that is the other end fo the frame into loopback mode so that a local loop test can be done between us and AT&T (provider)?
This is one of the standard issue vodafone routers. So i set up web-server on my laptop, and it is accessible to the internet now.
However I need to be able to access it from my machine using the public address. But I just cannot find where to enable nat loopback. I looked for options in both regular and advanced user logins (web interfaces). So I suppose the last option is telneting into it, and using commands to do it.. but I don't know how to access it (cant find the credentials). URL

I wonder if there is no any issue when we are using one loopback interface as source address in case multiple GRE tunnel.However, the destination IP address different per each tunnel, only having same source loopback.

I saw warning message when I apply 2nd GRE tunnel on C7613, SRD6 IOS. we have a plan to enagle one more GRE tunnel in same.I need to decide to use adding one more loopback IP or just use this with ignoring warning message in terms of configuration easily.
I can't get a new IP from my ISP when my Cable modem router(EPC3925) is set to router mode, i have tried factory restore, unplugged etc..but still no luck. It changes each time i reset it when i set it to bridged only mode but then i won't be able to connect other devices to it since it doesn't uses DHCP in bridged only mode. It changes back to the IP i had when i set it to router mode. I don't want to change my router settings to bridged only because it would disconnect the other devices in my house. Why my ISP assigns the same IP address when it's set to router mode but assigns different IPs when it's set to bridged only, how is this possible ?

I looked at the article at How to disable IP version 6 or its specific components in Windows and shows how to set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesTcpip6ParametersDisabledComponents to various values – but none of these seems to disable IPv6 Loopback. I attempted setting this value to 0xffffffff and 0x20 – restarting my computer after each change, and I still do not get this disabled.
I am using another software called Webdriver or Selenium that gives errors when debugging if IPv6 Loopback is not disabled. It seems to attempt to connect to [::1]:7055 and fails. Is there a way to force it to connect to 127.0.0.1.

When can we have an upgrade to include 'Lookback' function for Virtual Server ? I understand both Build-120802 and Build-120926 does not support this Loopback feature. Without the loopback feature, we won't be able to test out Dynamic DNS URL is working or otherwise on local PC.

I have an Ethernet Loopback Plug (4 Pairs) made and trying to test the Gigabit Interface on a 3845 Router with a fail result. The interface will show up/up only if I set the interface to 100M/Full Duplex when I plug-in the Ethernet Loopback Plug (4 Pairs). I don't see this Gigabit Interface @ 3845 router has any option to set it to internal or external loopback.

When I hover over the network/internet icon it tells me that I have a local connection only and can't get online. No changes were made to my computer between it working and not working - I have not installed any new software and the modem+router have not been changed.
When I try ipconfig/release is says it can't perform the operation while the media is disconnected. It also tells me that "an error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1: The system cannot find the fie specified".

View 1 Replies View Relatedwe've had an issue with our network, we have 2 6509 connected with redundancy, which are connected with 2 x 4900 Switches, from which are connected to a ESX Chassis for visualization, the thing is that the ESX stopped working, and the 4900 switches, and the main core were suffering from overload, they hang on it very well, in order to stop the overload, one of the links to the ESX Chassis were disconnected from one of the 4900 switches. The CPU usage from the 4900 and the core(6509) went down below 40%, and then they started to migrate the virtual servers from the chassis to another 2 chassis that were added right after. They were actually working well, but suddenly the 6509 changed to the other supervisor after everything was OK. We were wondering what could have been the cause of this, maybe the virtual servers migrations, maybe the overload from the ESX ? We also had a few question, is there any need to reload the cores every few months as a planned task ? Because the cores have been up for more than 1 year. And also is there any kind of of tool to monitor the CPU status, or the status overall from the cores or the switches ?

1. does their will be "multicast packets" (for VRRP/HSRP group) "from backup router to Master router", when in stable state( ie when Master and backup are already chosen) , or the packet from backup to master should be unicast.I know for sure, the packet from master to back is multicast packets denstination to Multicast IP packet and To MAC address.I am not sure but I think from backup to master it should be multicast
2. what is frequency of these packets( from backup to master)

As i have multiper group on a single interface ( we are using q-in-q), when the connectivity from router's is broken, then does all the groups will muticast their active roll in the lan sengment "at once" or it will be in a groups say 100 groups at once, and after few ms few 100's and sone ( as is on OSPF or RIP)
