I would like to know if Catalyst WS-C3750G-48TS-E recognizes and understand Cisco VSS ( Virtual Switching System) . Is there a List available which tells us which Old Catalyst Switches or current switches understand Cisco VSS?

I have two Switches which i need to put in a same stack - WS-C3750E-48TD and WS-C3750G-48TS . Possible to do so and also which IOS to put in both the switches as WS-C3750G-48TS is having lower RAM and flash.Whether can i put following IOS in these switches and connect them in a stack as i have read that IOS -- 15.0.1. SE are compatible with both the switches.
a . c3750e-ipbasek9-mz.150-1.SE.bin in switch - WS-C3750E-48TD
b. c3750-ipbasek9-mz.150-1.SE.bin in switch -- WS-C3750G-48TS
Situation: Currently WS-C3750G-48TS-(S or E) switches are on stack. Now these units will soon EOL on Jan. 30, 2013 and Cisco recommends that
WS-C3750X-48T-S or WS-C3750X-48T-E will be used.
The question is: Will the new SKU works together in a stack with the old ones? Will there be no changes on the type of stacking cable to be used?

When I added new C3750v2-24PS (running image 12.2(50) SE5) in stack so I up-graded the image of existing 8 switches with latest veriosn 12.2(50) SE5. Once I have done with the upgrade then all ports of my stack switches went down after around five minuts. Is it image compatibility issue with existing switches or something else?

View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes a portable RPS device either from Cisco or another manufacturer exists, that would allow you to move primary power for a switch without causing an outage? I realize that for the Catalyst 3560 for example, you can get an RPS 2300 or 675, but my understanding is that these are made for a more permanent installation, not to mention rather costly.
It looks like the RPS 675 is rather inexpensive after all, especially in the secondary market, but still rather large for toting around.
Any replacement fan for the WS-C3750G-48TS-S switch that runs quieter than the one originally built into this router? I've searched a number of web sites and found plenty of replacement fans available but none of them show noise level specifications.
particular manufacturer/model combination that works in this router that will drop the noise level down while maintaining air flow. This switch is in a short network rack in an small office that also includes people. The current noise level isn't defining like some servers, but is loud enough to be distracting.
Can I upgrade my 3750 48TS-S to the EMI software or does it need to be a 48TS-E?

We purchased the following GBICs, SFP 1000SX Transceiver and when we put them in the port it shows (err-disabled). View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new 2960S-48TS-L, plain vanilla with no extra module/boards etc. It boots up ok (the installed version is 12.2 (55) SE5) but then constantly cycles the following error, and doesn't accept any input whatsoever. After 5-10 minutes of cycling the error, the switch reloads and starts the process again.

I am in the process of upgrading our stack of 4 switches consist of WS-C3750G-48PS. Upon reading release notes found that there are two versions of release notes 1 day apart, the one 02 Sep 2012 saying that WS-C3750-48PS is not supported in this version. Then in release next day 03 Sep 2012 that note has been removed. Which one is correct. Is it supported with my model of switch or not. Also unable to update boot path in the stack switches, "switch all" is not supported in the current IOS. Any other way to update it. Master switch has new boot path but unable to change in slaves.

I have downloaded c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.150-1.SE2.bin and I want to upgrade iOS to this image.
I have a few questions related to this:
1. Is my switch model compatible with this iOS version?
2. Do you recommend the upgrade? Does it bring some notable features?
3. Can I upgrade for free or do I need to buy some license?
4. I also want to upgrade/add the crypto image, can I add crypto for free or some license is required?
5. I have remote access to my switch via the console cable which plugged into machine1. But machine1 is connected to network via the same switch. I am accessing machine1 via SSH, and then the switch via console cable (minicom on CentOS). Is there an upgrade procedure for this kind of situation that also has some fall back (like reboot in X minutes and load the previous image) if the upgrade goes wrong?
Our network administrator restricts all our new 1Gb switches to only 100Mb, to which he claims it will increase overall performance. Preventing devices from bottlenecking the network. (that is, only restricting the main switch ports, not the uplinks)For example we have a new building with 2x WS-C2960S-48TS-L connected together with FlexJack and then a 1Gb Fiber connection back to our core switch.
This building is on it's own subnet and there is little broadcast traffic. I don't see the point other than it hinders the potential speed we could use. Labs are set up in this building and 1Gb is MUCH faster when it comes to imaging and software deployment.
We are facing since one month in our two Cisco WS-C3750G-12S on many interfaces input errors when data transer or ping (ICMP) increase input erros.
