Currently there are three stacked WS-C3750G-24TS-1U on data centre. I am going to buy a WS-C3560X-48T-L to use 10GbE module. Is it possible stack this switch "WS-C3560X-48T-L" to current switches "WS-C3750G-24TS-1U" ?

Possible to do so and also which IOS to put in both the switches as WS-C3750G-48TS is having lower RAM and flash.Whether can i put following IOS in these switches and connect them in a stack as i have read that IOS -- 15.0.1. SE are compatible with both the switches.

I have 8 switch stack consisting of six WS-C3550-48P and two WS-C3750G-16TD running software vesrion 12.2(25) SEB1. When I added new C3750v2-24PS (running image 12.2(50) SE5) in stack so I up-graded the image of existing 8 switches with latest veriosn 12.2(50) SE5. Once I have done with the upgrade then all ports of my stack switches went down after around five minuts. Is it image compatibility issue with existing switches or something else?

I have changed the universal IOS on the 3750X to IP base..but they still wont come up as a stack. On the 3750X I don't see any log entry, on 3750G (major version mismatch).

Upon reading release notes found that there are two versions of release notes 1 day apart, the one 02 Sep 2012 saying that WS-C3750-48PS is not supported in this version. Then in release next day 03 Sep 2012 that note has been removed. Which one is correct. Is it supported with my model of switch or not.also unable to update boot path in the stack switches, "switch all" is not supported in the current IOS. Everything is working but i m not sure if the switchport config is right in that way.
As an example :

When we connect an Cisco 7971g and an pc everything is working fine. But when i start wireshark on the pc behind the phone you see a lot of UDP Traffic source UC520 destination 239.10.16.8 or 239.10.16.16. At this point i m getting confused. So i start looking for the cisco phone config, VLAN ID on the phone is 100 (i think that is ok) but the PC-VLAN part is empty?
The main thing is, how can i stop this cisco-sccp traffic on the pc port (prtg shows me a average of 200 kbit/s) i think it is an config fault.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed 4 3560 (WS-C3560X-48T-S) Switches. At first the switch comes up, indicating all connected ports with a green LED. Whenever i unplug a cable and plug it back in, the status LED will stay off. The same thing happens when I push the mode button and cycle throgh the different modes, i lose certain LEDs.
I'm using 12.2(53)SE2, another user reported the same issues under 12.2(55)SE1 .
I would I upgrade this from a LAN base to ip services?

I have read this is possible. I have running a other mixed stack with a C3750G-12S and an C3750E-48TD. Its running fine until I want to make an IOS update. The update was done with the CW LMS 3.1. After the automatic update and restart only the C3750E had an new IOS the C3750G doesn't have any IOS. Do I have the same problem with the mixed Stack C3750G and C3750X?Do I have to upgrade the IOS by copying the different IOS Versions ( c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-50.SE3 / c3750e-ipbasek9-mz.122-50.SE3) to every switch ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a WS-C3560X-24 and attached to that are some 9 acces switches, for some weeks now my 3560 reboots some time what couse that the other 9 switches are down for some minuts as well and i dont want this of course. the reboot happens at random times and some times one week not and then like yesterday afternoon it rebooted again.
when i check the Flash directory there is no crash file and when i look at the logging its clean and just shows the startup. it's not the powersuply it's redundend and more L3 switches are attached to this power source and they dont reboot.

2 x 3750G Switches configured as a stack using Stackwise - Collapsed Core/Distribution Layer
5 x 2960G Switches as Access Layer switches
WAN connections into the Core/Distribution Layer are all Gigabit Ethernet over Fibre.This is a dedicated CCTV Network with 50 Cameras all streaming video into the Core (decoders connected to access switches)Each 2960G has 2 links to the Core/Distribution 3750G Switches, 1 to each switch - Gigabit.I'm running rapid-pvst on all switches, so spanning tree is blocking one of the ports and effectively halving the 2 gig bandwidth. Next year our customer is going to add in a further 50 - 60 cameras.After monitoring the current loading on the ports in use, we have suggested to the customer that the 2 connections to each should be Ether-channeled together. First interface takes commands no problem, keep getting the message that etherchannel cannot be configured across different switches in a stack when i try to put the second interface commands on.
I would like to know if Catalyst WS-C3750G-48TS-E recognizes and understand Cisco VSS ( Virtual Switching System) . Is there a List available which tells us which Old Catalyst Switches or current switches understand Cisco VSS?

I have downloaded c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.150-1.SE2.bin and I want to upgrade iOS to this image.
I have a few questions related to this:
1. Is my switch model compatible with this iOS version?
2. Do you recommend the upgrade? Does it bring some notable features?
3. Can I upgrade for free or do I need to buy some license?
4. I also want to upgrade/add the crypto image, can I add crypto for free or some license is required?
5. I have remote access to my switch via the console cable which plugged into machine1. But machine1 is connected to network via the same switch. I am accessing machine1 via SSH, and then the switch via console cable (minicom on CentOS). Is there an upgrade procedure for this kind of situation that also has some fall back (like reboot in X minutes and load the previous image) if the upgrade goes wrong?
We are facing since one month in our two Cisco WS-C3750G-12S on many interfaces input errors when data transer or ping (ICMP) increase input erros. I am trying to change the ports speed to 1G, and have tried all possible combinations of "speed 1000" and "duplex full" setting on both ends to no avail. What should port settings be for 1G speed between the two switches?
