I have recently installed 4 3560 (WS-C3560X-48T-S) Switches. At first the switch comes up, indicating all connected ports with a green LED. Whenever i unplug a cable and plug it back in, the status LED will stay off. The same thing happens when I push the mode button and cycle throgh the different modes, i lose certain LEDs.
I'm using 12.2(53)SE2, another user reported the same issues under 12.2(55)SE1 .
Im trying to find an affordable Cisco switch with similar capabilities and features as the WS-C3560X-48T-S (L2/L3 routing as in IP Base, dual power supply, etc.).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a pair of new C3560X-24T-S switches with C3KX-NM-10G modules, and am trying to get a long distance 10G link up using 3rd party SFP-10G-ER SFPs (XGIGA with Cisco coded IDPROMs)I've enabled use of unsupported transcievers with the following commands:service unsupported-transceiver no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalidAfter that the switches accepts the SFPs but I get no light (sh int trans shows Tx -40), but if I insert a supported SFP first and then switches to my ER SFPs I get them to start transmitting, however I still don't LINK on the interface.I've tried with both 12.2(55)SE3 (that the switches came with) and 15.0(1)SE3 with same results.I know SFP-10G-ER SFPs are not supported on these switches, but are scheduled for the 15.0(2) release, but I was under the impression that they should already work using the above commands to enable the use of unsupported SFPs.So my question is basically: Is the new code in 15.0(2) really needed to make ER SFPs work, so I should just wait for that release, or are my 3rd party SFP simply broken/un-compatible with these switches?Also, could reprogramming them to look like SFP-10G-LR SFPs, which are supported, make any difference, or should it already have worked now with service unsupported-transceiver enabled if they were compatible?

Everything is working but i m not sure if the switchport config is right in that way.
As an example :

When we connect an Cisco 7971g and an pc everything is working fine. But when i start wireshark on the pc behind the phone you see a lot of UDP Traffic source UC520 destination 239.10.16.8 or 239.10.16.16. At this point i m getting confused. So i start looking for the cisco phone config, VLAN ID on the phone is 100 (i think that is ok) but the PC-VLAN part is empty?
The main thing is, how can i stop this cisco-sccp traffic on the pc port (prtg shows me a average of 200 kbit/s) i think it is an config fault.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a WS-C3560X-24 and attached to that are some 9 acces switches, for some weeks now my 3560 reboots some time what couse that the other 9 switches are down for some minuts as well and i dont want this of course. the reboot happens at random times and some times one week not and then like yesterday afternoon it rebooted again.
when i check the Flash directory there is no crash file and when i look at the logging its clean and just shows the startup. it's not the powersuply it's redundend and more L3 switches are attached to this power source and they dont reboot.

We recently connected a RPS 2300 to our switch WS-C3750G-48PS-E with IOS c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.122-53.SE2.bin.However i do not see any RPS details in the"show env" output.I believe i should get the RPS Name and its Serial and the port number in the output, but i am not finding it in the output. We can try to see if the switch is completely dead and needs replacing or is there something we can do to get it back up and running again?

I have a 6500 serious switch that one port (portfast enabled) hold a server .This server has sort of a Cluster configured for high availability .
During primary server failure the failover server acquires the cluster IP address (ie virtual IP).
Cluster IP 192.168.10.1
Primary server =192.168.10.2 Failover server =192.168.10.3
when failover happen , i am unable to learn arp. need to reboot the server for arp . After reboot i am getting different mac address(secondary) with cluster IP.
query:-normal clustering how mac address generating(means logicaly any mac address will be created or LAN card mac address)? Is ther any issue with portfast configuration(with out portfast configuration TCN will generate and max age timeout decrease 15 second from 300second) ?
Note : we checked a scenario same ip address with two system(ipconflit) and removed arp learned system from network and same thing happen we need to clear the arp manually in L3switch

I have installed and configured 2 new WS-3750E-24TD in the last 30 days, that have software version 12.5(50)SE2-universalk9, on our flat Development LAN (currently 7 existing WS-3750E-24TD with 12.5(35)SE2-universal)The new switches have shutdown, 1 has shutdown twice and I just had the other one shutdown on the weekend, all the status lights on the left are lit up but no port lights are on, I am not able to console in to the switch all I can do is cycle power. I am planning on upgrading all switches to the latest software release universalk9-mz.150-1SE
could this problem be a version incompatibillity between the switches?
In my 6513 switch chassis we have two Supervisor Engines 720 one is marked Active other as Hot. what is the diffrence in their mode as by name I suppose that Active one is currently in use and Hot one is in standby mode.They are showing in this manner.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI enabled the "no service password-recovery" command on my C2960 switch. All seems to work as discribed. Only issue I have is --- which show command is used to reveal if the password-recovery feature is enabled of disabled as the command doesn't show up in the running config after you enable it ?
NOTE: The command does show up in the C2960 switch in config t mode (unlike the IOS router 2800 series), but doesn't show up in the running-config after you enable or disable it.
On the 2800 series routers (latest IOS) in config t mode the command does not show up but if you type "no service passowrd-recovery" the command function correctly and it does list it in the running configuration.
We have two 6509 switches with one WS-X6704-10GE module in each of them. There is an optical cable between the two switches plugged in WS-X6704-10GE module on both sides. When you shut down the port on one side the other port still stays as up and you need phisycally to unplug the cable to have it down. The same behaviour is seen no matter on which of the two switches you shut down the port, the opposite one always stays as up and only removal of the cable makes it go down.
The ports are configured quite simply:

On a 4500 switch having a single sup engine, another sup engine was installed to act as redundant one.the redundancy mode was changed to sso, thereafter the secondary sup was prompted to be reset.
After it came back up again, the redundancy status still shows as RPR in operation mode.
I installed WS-C4506-E 3 day ago. I discovered someting different module status Right at the end of the module ( WS-X4648-RJ45-E ) show red led. this is not port led i try to reset module several time. but it's same status. but this is operating now nomally I upload picture.. and this is module status and diagnostic result

I have a really weired thing happening on 6509 device with one of my customers.The device has a SUP 2 (MSFC2) with version 12.2.18SXF17B.
any VLAN interface once administratively down or simply down shows on "show interface status" output as VLAN.While it supposed to show "Routed". However once the port is up it is shows "routed" like it should.
How to properly power down the Nexus 5000 and the fabric interconnect switches? I have looked up and down cisco's and google web for steps, but they are all coming back with the answer to just disconnect the power cables after you have power down all the windows os and exs servers. Before i do that, I just wanted to make sure that that's the correct way to do it or if there are actual commands that I will need to run on the devices to properly power down. I know that the FI do have a command to reboot, but i need them to completely be power down.

All other users do not have an issue and i receive the following error at roughly the same time of day when the drop happens. Authentication is done by my AD Server which handles all logins.

I not familiar with the ASA 5510 product. I having trouble since last 24 hours and still cant find out the root cause yet. Here is my scenario, my network should be
WAN --- ASA5510 (FW) --- SERVER (192.168.1.0/24)
Now I face the problem, all the NAT static 1-to-1 is working OK. All my public IP can be ping from outside internet. But the problem happen when I try to telnet to port 80 on each server. I had try telnet from my PC to public IP 124.xxx.179 80, it's work fine, but failed on 124.xxx.180 80, then on 124.xxx.181 80, its work fine.
Then I do try on my colleague PC, in same network as mine, I face another case where the public IP 124.xxx.179 80 cannot be telnet, but it's ok for 124.xxx.180, then failed on 124.xxx.181 80.
FYI.. all our PC can ping to the Public IP and no packet lose.
The scenario is very weird, I cant find any other solution as had review my configuration few times.
check does my configuration is working perfectly or not.

I have one Flex WLC 7510 using software version 7.0.220, And all APs are 1131.
I have some sites with H-Reap, where H-Reap is configured properly.
The Access Points are set with AP Group. AP Group is configured properly too.
Each AP Group was configured for one site, and they was configured with 2 SSIDs. All sites has 2 differents SSIDs. During some basic tests, in one site with 9 APs, I saw:
1. When the Access Points are registred on WLC, all APs are working fine. All APs has your 2 SSID added on slot 0 (radio 0)
2. If I disable the link between WLC and Access Points, 7 access points delete SSIDs on your AP Groups and replace it with 16 SSIDs (SSIDs on Default Group) configured on WLC.
i had an extra network under my wireless networks that was just called "network" which was not connected to anything, but since i had this, on the bottom right of my screen where it normally showed the bars for the wireless connection, it had the bars grey with a red X on them, but my connection worked fine still.I am using windows 7 64x bit. I always use a wireless connection on my laptop.

It remained orange(which is its off state) and so I went to the device manager and the wifi adapter was shown there but with an exclamation mark. Showing the error "the device cannot be started(code 10)". So I uninstalled and rebooted, only to get the same error when it got reinstalled.

My connection speed is 30 gb up and 5 GB down.Until now I used a Linksys WRT54GV ver. 2 router to share my connection between my computers and NAS server and it worked ok. In speed tests I normally get approx 25 - 28 GB speed. To optain more speed on my LAN I want to buy a GB router. And here started my problems. First I tried a D-link DIR655, then a Netgear WNDR3700 and latest a Linksys E3000. I all 3 occations my WAN speed droped drasticaly down to between 3 - 5 GB speed, at under a ping test I have a loss of between 10 - 30 % and time on approx 50 ms.If I connect my PC directly to the modem or re-connect my old router it works perfect. I have tried to replace cables etc. etc.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLast night on the xbox 360 i was suddenly experiencing alot of lag on other peoples voices. i took no notice of it and the next day i went on my laptop and alot of websites wouldn't load properly.i can go on google,obviously this and my hotmail(after having to wait a long time for the hotmail to load), but others such as ebay will not load. I cannot even access my router settings by typing in my ip address, instead i get a message saying the page cannot be found. also i was disconnected from xbox live with the internet to xbox live part not working. Obviously the first thing i done was turn the router off and back on but it hasn't made any difference.
