Cisco Switching/Routing :: Can Stack (ws-c3750G-12s) With (ws-c3750X-24p-poe-s) With (ws-c3750-48p-10/100 Poe)
Feb 3, 2012
can i stack cisco (ws-c3750G-12s) with (ws-c3750X-24p-poe-s) with (ws-c3750-48p-10/100 poe) i mean even a switch is 10/100 and the other switch is 10/100/1000?
I have 8 switch stack consisting of six WS-C3550-48P and two WS-C3750G-16TD running software vesrion 12.2(25) SEB1. When I added new C3750v2-24PS (running image 12.2(50) SE5) in stack so I up-graded the image of existing 8 switches with latest veriosn 12.2(50) SE5. Once I have done with the upgrade then all ports of my stack switches went down after around five minuts. Is it image compatibility issue with existing switches or something else?
We have WS-C3750-24FS switches stacked supporting users on our LAN. I want take advantage of the netflow capabilities of the WS-C3750X using the C3KX-SM-10G card.
Would I be to see netflow data coming from the WS-C3750's if I stacked it with the WS-C3750X?
Also I read that the C3KX-SM-10G card would support a 1G SFP is that correct?
I have changed the universal IOS on the 3750X to IP base..but they still wont come up as a stack. On the 3750X I don't see any log entry, on 3750G (major version mismatch).
I have running a Stack with two C3750G-24TS-S1U with the IOS c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-50.SE3.Now I want put a new C3750X-24T-S in the existing stack. I have read this is possible. I have running a other mixed stack with a C3750G-12S and an C3750E-48TD. Its running fine until I want to make an IOS update. The update was done with the CW LMS 3.1. After the automatic update and restart only the C3750E had an new IOS the C3750G doesn't have any IOS. Do I have the same problem with the mixed Stack C3750G and C3750X?Do I have to upgrade the IOS by copying the different IOS Versions ( c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-50.SE3 / c3750e-ipbasek9-mz.122-50.SE3) to every switch ?
I'm having trouble stacking a new WS-C3750X-24P with existing switches WS-C3750G-24PS ?I can see the license is on the new WS-C3750X-24P:
switch#sho lic Index 1 Feature: ipservices Period left: 8 weeks 4 days License Type: Evaluation License State: Active, Not in Use, EULA not accepted License Priority: None
[code].....
I could put on the c3750e-ipbasek9-mz.122-55.SE1 image, but I may need to get the license sorted still, but not sure if that will work or how to add it if i got one.....
Situation: Currently WS-C3750G-48TS-(S or E) switches are on stack. Now these units will soon EOL on Jan. 30, 2013 and Cisco recommends that WS-C3750X-48T-S or WS-C3750X-48T-E will be used.
The question is: Will the new SKU works together in a stack with the old ones? Will there be no changes on the type of stacking cable to be used?
Currently there are three stacked WS-C3750G-24TS-1U on data centre. I am going to buy a WS-C3560X-48T-L to use 10GbE module. Is it possible stack this switch "WS-C3560X-48T-L" to current switches "WS-C3750G-24TS-1U" ?
Any issues are reported while configuring power stack ? We did several times with 12.2.58SE1 and SE2, sometimes the power stack is created automatically, sometimes needs to be configured manually. Looks like the behavior is not the same. Maybe it depends on the number/type of switches and number/type of power supplies.
I have two Switches which i need to put in a same stack - WS-C3750E-48TD and WS-C3750G-48TS . Possible to do so and also which IOS to put in both the switches as WS-C3750G-48TS is having lower RAM and flash.Whether can i put following IOS in these switches and connect them in a stack as i have read that IOS -- 15.0.1. SE are compatible with both the switches.
a . c3750e-ipbasek9-mz.150-1.SE.bin in switch - WS-C3750E-48TD
b. c3750-ipbasek9-mz.150-1.SE.bin in switch -- WS-C3750G-48TS
I do have C3750G-12s switch which is not able to boot as of the expected. Every time when I break the stack and try to use console i got a weird output from my console output. we need the stack to be break and use those switch separtally .
I have a situation. I am running two-switch 3750-stack and it crashed this morning. IOS version the switches is: "flash:c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.150-1.SE.bin"

We have a cisco stack with 5 ws-c3750-24p 12.2)55)SE3 c3750-ipbasek9-m switches. Can i add a switch to the stack that is the following model: ws-c3750g-48ts 12.2(25)see3 c3750-ipbase-m
We have existing stack of 3 units of WS-C3750-48TS-S ( 100 mbps ports with Gigabot uplinks). with IOS as follows, Can we add WS-C3750G-48PS-S in this same stack (this is 48 Gigabit ports)?
According to cisco manual in order to change SDM template i need to reboot switch, but when i have C3750-X stack do i need to reboot stack or maybe will be enough reboot in sequence the stack members?
Is it possible to upgrade a c3750-stack one member at a time to avoid downtime? I need to keep L3-functionality up.
If I have one etherchannel from access-switch (2 channel-ports in 3750, in different stack-members), my 3750-stack as a distribution layer switch, and another etherchannel (also spread over multiple stack members) to core, can I upgrade the entire stack without traffic interruption?
a) I have three C3750-X switch stack together as my SAN switch and running on the new 15.0 release which is 15.0(1) SE.
b) Recently the master switch rebooted without any explanation. Create ticket with TAC and got an answer that it is due to a bug with ID: CSCtr31957.
My question is, which release that should i choose either the 15.0(1) SE3 or the latest 15.0(2)? Will it affect any of my configuration if i change to 15.0(2)?
Finally, what is the best practice to upgrade IOS in a stack whether to upgrade it 1 switch at a time or do it to all at once?
Does the color strips on C3750X stack power cables mean anything, I mean the green and yellow ones. On all Cisco pictures the green one seems to be plugged in the upper ports. I asked local Cisco representative, but he seems not to be sure. We tried to try different scenarios, and it looks like it does not matter what cable end we use. We do not have any external power supply, only interconnecting C3750Xs.
I am having an issue with adding a c3750x switch to an existing switch stack Currently there is 2 x WS-C3750X-48P and I am trying to add another WS-C3750X-48P to this switch I have cabled the switch to the stack using the stack cables and added the command to provision the switch on the exisitng stack. However when I turn the switch on it just goes on its own stack.
I noticed the new switch had a later version of IOS so have downgraded this to the same version as the other switches but still no joy Here is the sh ver from the exisitng stack

I have two WS-C3750X-48T-S which is "IP BASE" licensed, which are connected as stack.I need to use Policy Based Routing (PBR) to direct Vlans to two different gateways, and command "ip policy route-map" which is supported only in C3750-IPSERVICES license.Do I need upgrade only master switch with Cisco IOS IP Services - product upgrade licenseMfg. Part#: L-C3750X-48-S-E, or both switches need to be upgraded?
Cisco let us try a CISCO C3750X- 24T-S Stack (2 switches) ->> IpBase Sofware licence We've 2 Hyper-v 2008 R2 and one SAN Netapp FAS2040 connected via Iscsi. All was working well with this stacks.Hyper-V see Nas Iscsi interface without problem. Even with basic stack config (no Vlan, ect...).Then, after this test period, we bought a C3750X-24T-L stack (2 switches) to replace the stack lent by Cisco. This one is LanBase Software.
With this stack, hyper-v work very bad ! We've got a lot of Iscsi error in the eventvwr.I can't access luns. So, is there a difference between LanBase and IpBase for a iscsi use ?I put the 24T-S config on the 24T-L switch without pb. So config is the same on both stacks...Also i've got a "TestPortAsicLoopback" = "Failed" on the new stack...I've tried with other stack cables. Not better.
WS-C3750G-24TS-S1U switch stack with high CPU utilization. 3 switches are stacked and using PBR on that. I am attaching the show cpu process as an attachment. The current template is "desktop routing" template. The selected template optimizes the resources in the switch to support this level of features for 8 routed interfaces and 1024 VLANs. I have a couple of WS-C3750X-48T-L and a couple of WS-C3750X-12S-S, I want to stack all four of them together into a single stack. WS- C3750X-12S-S are running c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-58.SE2 whereas WS-C3750X-48T-L are running c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE3.I have got a couple of queries as under:What are the options to achieve putting all these 4 switches into a single stack? Can the LAN Base switches upgraded to IP Base?
I am in the process of upgrading our stack of 4 switches consist of WS-C3750G-48PS. Upon reading release notes found that there are two versions of release notes 1 day apart, the one 02 Sep 2012 saying that WS-C3750-48PS is not supported in this version. Then in release next day 03 Sep 2012 that note has been removed. Which one is correct. Is it supported with my model of switch or not.also unable to update boot path in the stack switches, "switch all" is not supported in the current IOS. Master switch has new boot path but unable to change in slaves.
I am having an issue on a Cisco 3750 stack where when the stack master is rebooted, all my lacp port-channels drop and then come back up again. After doing some investigation It seems that it is happening because of lacp using the stack master mac-address as part of the system-id, so when the stack master reboots, the stack mac changes. I see that there is the command: stack-mac persistent timer 0
There is this warning about using this command:
When you configure this feature, a warning message displays the consequences of your configuration. You should use this feature cautiously. Using the old master MAC address elsewhere in the domain could result in lost traffic.
My question are:
Are there any other consequences to using this command (apart from moving the switch/mac to another location in the network)It mentions 'If the entire switch stack reloads, it acquires the MAC address of the master as the stack MAC address' Is this still the case if you have the stack-mac persistent timer to 0? Does using channel-group mode on for the port-channels still use the same mechanism of having a system-id? (Will the channels flap using 'mode on' when rebooting the stack master.
