View 4 RepliesI have two Switches which i need to put in a same stack - WS-C3750E-48TD and WS-C3750G-48TS . Possible to do so and also which IOS to put in both the switches as WS-C3750G-48TS is having lower RAM and flash.Whether can i put following IOS in these switches and connect them in a stack as i have read that IOS -- 15.0.1. SE are compatible with both the switches.
a . c3750e-ipbasek9-mz.150-1.SE.bin in switch - WS-C3750E-48TD
b. c3750-ipbasek9-mz.150-1.SE.bin in switch -- WS-C3750G-48TS
7x stack WS-C3750E-48TD-E orignal code 12.2.35...i wanted to get it to 15.0.1 so as a test i disconnected top switch (not the master ) and installed via archive download-sw /allow upgrade 15.0.1.tar. and it worked away fine...
so i moved onto the stack, issued the same command, image loaded rebooted and stack hung..Consoled in and switch was unable to boot..looping on trying to load flash. [code]
I was wondering if I can stack WS-C3750E-48TD with WS-C3750G-12S together to created a single logical switch.

I checked and found two registered bug id: CSCtq86186 / CSCso81660.I would like to know what is the best IOS version to update my switch, IOS 15.0.2 SE2 or 12.2.58 SE2, by the way, my environment is very critical (data center) and the version 15.0.2 SE2 is very recent, but its stable ?In both versions the problem are fixed?
Need to confirm if WS-C3750-48TS-S supports Private vlans and IPV6?

I have a Cisco WS-C2960S-48TD-L with 12.2(55)SE2.This is a standalone switch, not in stack, and with no order it reboots itself looking for a new master election. On logging i have nothing, but connected with console cable i see the following after 2 minutes of not showing anything:

After searching online i have no seeing nothing about disable the feature of the stack so i configure the priority for the "switch 1" to 15 and configure it the switches 2, 3 and 4 to no provision, although this switches don´t exist:
SW_ACCESS(config)#switch 1 priority 15
Changing the Switch Priority of Switch Number 1 to 15
Do you want to continue?[confirm]

With this new configuration the switch has rebooted again. Why on a standalone switch the stack is rebooting my system? Is it any feature to disable the stack?

a) I have three C3750-X switch stack together as my SAN switch and running on the new 15.0 release which is 15.0(1) SE.
b) Recently the master switch rebooted without any explanation. Create ticket with TAC and got an answer that it is due to a bug with ID: CSCtr31957.

I am having an issue on a Cisco 3750 stack where when the stack master is rebooted, all my lacp port-channels drop and then come back up again. After doing some investigation It seems that it is happening because of lacp using the stack master mac-address as part of the system-id, so when the stack master reboots, the stack mac changes. I see that there is the command: stack-mac persistent timer 0
There is this warning about using this command:
When you configure this feature, a warning message displays the consequences of your configuration. You should use this feature cautiously. Using the old master MAC address elsewhere in the domain could result in lost traffic.
My question are:
Are there any other consequences to using this command (apart from moving the switch/mac to another location in the network)It mentions 'If the entire switch stack reloads, it acquires the MAC address of the master as the stack MAC address' Is this still the case if you have the stack-mac persistent timer to 0? Does using channel-group mode on for the port-channels still use the same mechanism of having a system-id? (Will the channels flap using 'mode on' when rebooting the stack master.
I am not on site and I have not seen a WS-C3750V2-24PS-S. Customer has a stack of 6 x WS-C3750V2-24PS-S and one unit has failed. We do not have a WS-C3750V2-24PS-S spare. Can we replace it with a standard WS-C3750-24PS-S (not V2) switch and be part ofthe stack.
1. Are there any traps gotchas?
2. What about IOS versions - aren't they different for V2 switches
3. Are the stack ports and stack cables same for both WS-C3750V2-24PS-S and WS-C3750-24PS-S
4. What is the main reason for bringing out the V2 switches. What features do they have extra?

I want to connect WS-C2960S-48TD-L switch to WS-X6708-10G-3CXL module in Cisco WS-C6503-E switch. WS-X6708-10G-3CXL is C6K 8 port 10 Gigabit Ethernet module with DFC3CXL which requires X2 module. on the otherhand, WS-C2960S-48TD-L requires SFP+. Now is it possible to interconnect these two switch interfaces if I use LIU in between. or does WS-X6708-10G-3CXL module supports CVR-X2-SFP+ to use SFP+ transceivers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs above, I got a problem with C3750e, ios c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-58.SE1.bin, when send AF41 traffic passing through it. My topolygy is as following
WAN link <----------> G0/0/2.100 - ASR1002 - G0/0/5 <---------> G1/0/1 - C3750e - G1/0/3 <--------> G0/0/1 - ASR1004
On this C3750e, I turned on mls qos, trust dscp on both G1/0/1 and G1/0/3 and no else is configured. ASR1002 G0/0/2.100, i applied the CB shaping fror AF41 traffic.
C3750e#sh mls qos
QoS is enabled
QoS ip packet dscp rewrite is enabled
C3750e#sh mls qos int g1/0/3
GigabitEthernet1/0/3
trust state: trust dscp
[code]....
Then, from ASR1004, i send ICMP traffic with TOS set to AF41 (136) and i found out that
1. The traffic is dropped on c3750e
sh mls qos int g1/0/3 statistics
GigabitEthernet1/0/3 (All statistics are in packets)
30 - 34 : 63 63 48 86 1534
2. The traffic never get hit into AF41 class in ASR1002 ? Why C3750e dropped this AF41 traffic? and what can I do to fix it?

I have 3 ws-c3750-48ps in a stack and i'd like to enable dot1x on the stack I entered the commands: [code] I also have dot1x enabled on several interface on the 2nd and 3rd switches in the stack with these commands [code] dot1x successfully works on these ports and I see the logs in acs, heres where the problem comes in when i try to enable dot1x using the above commands on any interface on the first switch in the stack it doesn't work its like the switch doesn't support dot1x. I'm assuming that there is a bug in version 3 but after googling I didn't come up with much.

A site that i am responsible for has the following equipment installed:
2 x 3750G Switches configured as a stack using Stackwise - Collapsed Core/Distribution Layer
5 x 2960G Switches as Access Layer switches
WAN connections into the Core/Distribution Layer are all Gigabit Ethernet over Fibre. This is a dedicated CCTV Network with 50 Cameras all streaming video into the Core (decoders connected to access switches)Each 2960G has 2 links to the Core/Distribution 3750G Switches, 1 to each switch - Gigabit.I'm running rapid-pvst on all switches, so spanning tree is blocking one of the ports and effectively halving the 2 gig bandwidth. Next year our customer is going to add in a further 50 - 60 cameras. After monitoring the current loading on the ports in use, we have suggested to the customer that the 2 connections to each should be Ether-channeled together. [code]
First interface takes commands no problem, keep getting the message that etherchannel cannot be configured across different switches in a stack when i try to put the second interface commands on.
Situation: Currently WS-C3750G-48TS-(S or E) switches are on stack. Now these units will soon EOL on Jan. 30, 2013 and Cisco recommends that
WS-C3750X-48T-S or WS-C3750X-48T-E will be used.
The question is: Will the new SKU works together in a stack with the old ones? Will there be no changes on the type of stacking cable to be used?
