I would like to confirm if Cisco 3750 and 3750v2 can work in a stack? My Cisco 3750 is working on 12.2(37)se while 3750v2 is working on 12.2(50r)se.
I tried to configure the above on a same stack but seem to have compatibility issue and fail to work.
Can I upgrade my 3750 48TS-S to the EMI software or does it need to be a 48TS-E?

I understand the differences between the IPBASE and IPSERVICES ios but am not quite clear as to how you can tell which ios images will work on which Cisco switch model platforms, other than the fact that some switches are designed only to run the IPBASE images and others have advanced hardware to run the advanced images. For instance, if I have a 3750-24TS-E with an IPBASE ios on it, can I load an IPSERVICES ios that came from say a 3750G-24TS-E1U? whether the ios on one platform can be transferred to another?

In a lab environment, I have a stack of two 3750v2-48ts switches. I upgraded the stack from 15.0(1)SE2 to 15.0(1)SE3 using archive download-sw.
Switch 1 in the stack reloaded and came back with the new image.
Switch 2 appears to be dead. No console out put. When power is applied, the SYST LED blinks 22 times, then stops. I've held in the mode button for up to 60 seconds, held in mode while applying power, removed the stack cables and repeated...there's not a whole lot else I can think of to do at this point.
I've been reading the documentation for the new 3750v2 switch, and I'm wondering is the IPBase license supports FULL OSPF. The product sheet notes that it supports OSPF in the IPBase license, but then further down the page it notes that for advanced routing functions (EIGRP,OSPF) you need the IPServices license. Are there any limitations to the OSPF process on a 3750v2 with the IPBase license?

The problem is that clients cannot receive an IP address. When I disable DHCP snooping it is working properly. DHCP snooping is configured correctly but I don't have an idea how to resolve it. The IOS on the stacked switches is 'c3750-ipbase-mz.122-25.SEB4.bin'.I loaded this IOS on to the new Cisco 3750V2 and deleted its original IOS. Boot up failed with error 'hardware not supported by firmware'. I am now trying to follow the recovery procedure but the I can only initialise the flash (flash_init) and there is no 'boot_helper' command to load the boot helper files. There is no option to rum 'copy xmodem' so I cannot upload the original IOS image via xmodem on hyperterminal.

I've got two two 3560s switchs, (WS-C3560G-48TS-S) that I'm trying to connect to each other using the GB ports over Fibre. We purchased the following GBICs, SFP 1000SX Transceiver and when we put them in the port it shows (err-disabled). View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new 2960S-48TS-L, plain vanilla with no extra module/boards etc. It boots up ok (the installed version is 12.2 (55) SE5) but then constantly cycles the following error, and doesn't accept any input whatsoever. After 5-10 minutes of cycling the error, the switch reloads and starts the process again.

Our network administrator restricts all our new 1Gb switches to only 100Mb, to which he claims it will increase overall performance. Preventing devices from bottlenecking the network. (that is, only restricting the main switch ports, not the uplinks)For example we have a new building with 2x WS-C2960S-48TS-L connected together with FlexJack and then a 1Gb Fiber connection back to our core switch.
This building is on it's own subnet and there is little broadcast traffic. I don't see the point other than it hinders the potential speed we could use. Labs are set up in this building and 1Gb is MUCH faster when it comes to imaging and software deployment.
Are 887VAM-W-E-K9 and 800-IL-PM2 compatible? We have got both of them but it seems that router has a 30W power source and module has a 80W power source.

F5 is configured with RSTP mode and on Cisco Switch RPVST+ is configured.STP root bridge is hardcoded on the Cisco side. Loop Guard is globally enabled.On F5 STP link type is Auto, STP Edge port is disabled since that port is connected to the cisco switch.When we are failing over the F5 primary link to the secondary link we see 'Loop Inconsistent' on the cisco switch and things dont work after the failover.We have tried configuring the F5 as STP passthrough but that doesn't fix out the issue.I have checked out the forums and found out following recommendations
1. Configuring MSTP bw F5 and Cisco for better compatibility (Not possible from Cisco side because of a major change in large production setup)
2. Configuring VSS in Cisco switches (not possible due to hardware limitation)
3. Connecting F5 using single links to each switch (redundancy compromised)
I am wondering that on which default vlan does the F5 STP instance0 sends the STP BPDUs ? the term used on Cisco side is native vlan and others use PVIDs; that F5 default vlan should match the native vlan on cisco trunk side.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've inherited a network. It looks to have been setup as 10/100 originally, using Netgear FSM726S switches with fibre connecting the switches. The fibre to copper conversion is mainly achieved with 10/100 media convertors rather than GBICs - not sure why - though there are some GBICs in use. Some of the "key" switches have been upgraded to Cisco Catalyst 2960G switches, but nothing else has been touched, so most of the network still runs at 100MB.
