Using VNC Viewer As A Video Source?

Aug 22, 2011

Every year I attend a local motorsport event and I am usually responsible for providing a live online video broadcast of the event which I do using a website such as ustream.tv or similar. The event is non-profit so spending as little money as possible or none at all is the best option for us. We use a 3G card/dongle and a laptop with 2 or 3 webcams for the video feed....The results/scoring system in use at the event is controlled by the organisers and they have setup a VNC server where teams can connect with their laptops via a wireless network to view results, what I would like to do, is to include the results screen in my video feed. So somehow, I need to trick my computer into thinking that the VNC viewer software is a video input device.I have looked for something similar last year but didn't have much success, If separate laptops are needed, I have 3 windows laptops at my disposal and a macbook pro which will be on the same network. Whichever one will be most suitable for the task will be used.

PDF Viewer Without Disk Access

Oct 18, 2012

On a windows 2003 data server with a 2008 domain controller, I have several Terminal Servers that are setup to only allow one remote time entry program to run. Totally locked down from network / internet (Kiosk Mode). Now I need to be able to view pdf files in a directory. How can I do this without giving access to the disks that are available for the time entry program to write back. The time entry requires a mapped drive with read/write access. Every pdf viewer I have found so far gives the ability to "File Open/Save as" and thereby gives access the the shared drive. If I use an Internet Browser then I have the same problem.

Cisco AAA/Identity/Nac :: ACS 5.1.0.44 / Cannot Launch Monitoring And Report Viewer

Dec 2, 2010

i just installed ACS 5.1.0.44 with the latest Patch on a VMWare virtual machine and installed the evaluation license.Everything works fine except for the "Monitoring & Report Viewer"-Tab:When i try to launch the Viewer, it opens a new browser-window/tab, which then again opens another (the same) window/tab, and so on and on. So there would be an infinite number of windows/tabs, if i wouldn't close them all real quickly. Same problem with any client and any browser.I already deinstalled ACS 5.1 and tried ACS 5.2 on the same machine -> same problem.

Cisco Routers :: Setting Up RV082 For Team Viewer Access To LAN

May 9, 2012

I am deploying a small wireless LAN (192.168.1.xxx) at a remote site and would like to access a PC at LAN IP address 192.168.1.2 across the Internet via TeamViewer so as to monitor devices on that LAN.  The wireless LAN uses about 12 Cisco Aironet 1310 bridges in a ROOT-NONROOT (I guess this is point-to-multipoint?) configuration. Our ISP has given us a single static WAN IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and two DNS server addresses.

My intent was to assign our static WAN IP address from the ISP to our RV082 router, plug the LAN devices (including the PC at 1.2) into the RV082, and then use Network Address Translation (NAT) to forward TeamViewer traffic to the PC at 1.2.  But the RV082's user manual says NOT to use the router's WAN IP address in the NAT table. So I'm confused as to how to send remote TeamViewer traffic to the PC inside my LAN.  Is NAT not the way to do this?  Should I be using port forwarding instead?I guess another way of skinning this cat would be to put a second NIC in the PC and let the second NIC have the WAN IP address so that it would be the first point of contact from outside, but that defeats some of my purposes for having the RV082 in the first place.

Cisco :: ASA Same Source And Destination

Jul 24, 2011

I have a situation which requires some non best practice stuff to be done. There is a box behind an ASA that has a lot of code that references public DNS names and therefore needs access to itself and a number of other boxes on the same subnet via the public DNS names (that obviously resolve to public IPs). This traffic is dropped on some pretty fundamental ASA characteristics.I know this isn't really ideal, and it should be handled by DNS nstead, but I'm in somewhat of a bind and need to know if the ASA can allow this traffic.I figure I could match the traffic and exempt it from state-checking and that would probably work, but it's not a very graceful solution.

Cisco WAN :: 881 - NAT Not Working When Source IP Is From LAN

Feb 22, 2011

I have configured my Cisco 881 and it is quite stable but now I am working on some minor details.

I have several Public WAN IP addresses which are NATing to internal web server. When I go to the WAN IP at port 80 from the Internet, the NAT works fine and it maps perfectly to the internal Web server. However, when I try the same same WAN IP from the LAN which contains the web server, the Router blocks the traffic and I get nothing back.

I have verified that I can get to the Inernet from the LAN but it seems that I cannot go bfrom the LAN to the Internet and back into the LAN via NAT.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Signal Fluctuations With No Source Of Interference?

Mar 5, 2012

So I use Shaw as my ISP, with the dlink DIR-655 as my router.Originally I was using the DPC3825, and started noticing some nasty signal fluctuations on my phone and wii (would go from 5 bars to 1 bar, causing netflix to drop out, games to disconnect, phone browsing to stop completely, etc) which is why I bought the DIR-655. I have been looking for sources of RF interference.I do not own a microwave, all the electrical work in this house is brand new, I have no neighbors (live in middle of a forest). I have tried positioning, every wifi channel, building an aluminum satellite dish to direct the signal where I want it to go. I've had it in every room in the house, I've unplugged the fridge and all other RF electronics (cordless phones, etc), and the issue remains.

So what the heck is going on here? Does my house hate wifi signals?I was thinking maybe dirty power, but my house has emergency power batteries that run 24/7. Any dropouts or flickers aren't even noticed by the system. url...This is a picture of the path between the router and my roku box/wii/phone.The router is 1 inch below the camera screen, and the roku box is in the far room. it's 30 feet.what can cause severe fluctuations at 30ft?

1) 192.168.3.0/24 will be accesing to the web server http://192.168.11.54
2) We would like to translate the source 192.168.3.0/24 to the firewall outside IP address
3) We would like to translate the destination web server 192.168.11.54 to 202.90.197.146 as well

Cisco WAN :: 3750G / How To Identify Source Of Runts

Aug 27, 2012

I am getting input errors/runts on 2 of my gigabit interfaces that connect to our WAN service provider's network. In relation to total packets, its not a large number, so its probably not a big deal, but I'd just like to find the source so I stop seeing the errors in Solarwinds. Our service provider says that they don't see any errors on their side, but the errors are incoming to us.

I've tried to capture the traffic with Wireshark, but discovered that often these packets are either discarded or padded by NICs so Wireshark will not see them, or at least will not see them as undersized.

Is there any other way I can capture these packets so I can find the source and figure out how to stop them? Our equipment is 3750G running 12.2(55)SE. Its not a trunk port. I know there was a bug in prior IOS that would cause some frames to be marked as runts even though they were forwarded successfully.

Oct 29, 2012

Does ASA 8.4.3 check the source IP address of  a DNS reply and drop it if the reply address is different to that in the query?

Customers DNS server does this due to a recent change, their server now has a virtual address, but replies are sent from its physcial address. This is temporary. Their PIX is happy with this.

Replace the PIX with the ASA, DNS fails, the only reason I can see is due to the way their internal DNS operates.
