View 2 Repliesi bought my xbox360s 3 days ago, brought it home and set it up, finds my belkin surf modem router f7d2401 v1, i enter the normal passcode i have used for that past 2 years with other items such as laptops and iphones, but it cant connect?
i think it has something to do with the i p address, its showing 0.0.0.0 when set on automatic, i then checked on the belkin setep page, and it showed the dchp was enabled? so i then got the information of the website and entered it manually but it still couldnt connect, i called both xbox and belkin and i know no more than i did before...xbox tried telling me after hours of questions and tests that it was my router, it musnt give out the 2.4gghtz needed, so i then called belkin, they also did tests and asked me questions and then told me that his computer screen is telling him the router can not connect to that xbox.
My xbox has got a full signal but wont connect to xbox live.

Which ever machine got online first got the open nat type. i've tried DMZ host with port forwarding for both machines to no success. We have a netgear modem router from charter cable. the model number I believe is CG3000D. she was on a wireless network and i was wired straight to the modem router.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to connect my Xbox 360 to Live by bridging my computer's wireless connection. I've done this before for a friend in a different city and it worked fine, and I felt very proud of myself for doing so. However when I try to connect here, the modem won't assign my Xbox an IP address. I've been into ipconfig/all and tried to manually assign the same IP address to the Xbox but to no avail. Same deal with the alternate MAC address option.
To speed things along here's the readout from my ipconfig/all:
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:UsersSamsung>ipconfig/all
[Code].....
Ive been trying to work this out on XBL forum for a while. all my settings seem to be correct ( UPnP, NAT type: open, no port forwarding or triggering, IP settings on Xbox's are auto).
The two Xbox can play online separately, when either one of them attempts to join the others party it disconnects from Xbox live.
According to the microsoft website, Xbox live only supports the Hardware version 1A and Firmware: 1.00NA.
My router has B1 and 2.00NA. is there a way to downgrade?
I just bought a new television so thought I would finally be able to get to play xbox live in a television away from the router! But of course like always there is is problems....
I'll start off by saying I understand about bridging your pc's wireless connection to the router and the wired connection from the xbox to the pc. I did the same thing last year with my old laptop and it worked fine.
However the problem lies in that my computer isn't recognising the xbox as a network device atal! They are connected using an ethernet cable (and the orange light comes on at port when xbox is turned on) but the only thing showing up in networked connections folder on the pc is the actual internet!
I had read that sometimes an ordinary ethernet cable isn't enough and it must be a cross over cable used to connect the pc and the xbox, so went into the shop today and purchased an adaptor that changes the cable to a cross over... but still nothing is showing up.
My computer is fairly top of the range, windows 7 and uses a netgear usb network card.
My xbox cannot connect to the internet. I'm hardwiring it. It can achieve an IP Adress and a Subnet Mask but... it's Gateway, Primary DNS, and Secondary DNS remains at 0.0.0.0
How can I fix this so that I can connect to Xbox Live?
What should I do cause my xbox360 the black one will Nt connect to the internet

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn our country we only used broadbands to connect to the internet, for short we don't have any wireless networking here. I just bought a new Xbox360 and I tried to connect the broadband on it. After connecting I tried to join Xbox Live and it said error. The console redirected me to a part which says test your connection, so I selected it. After selecting it I noticed that there are 4 parts. First the Xbox, second network, third internet, and lastly Xbox Live. I selected Test Connection and after doing so, it started to load. The first thing the console did is to test if the network is connected and after a few seconds the loading is done and it transfers to the other part which is the console will try to connect to the internet, in this part a huge x symbol appeared on the internet sign and it says that it is unable to connect to the internet and so I tried it again and same thing happened.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWasted several hours after changing to a D-link DIR 825 router attempting to connect to my XBOX 360 (S) without success.Tried to use the 5 GHz broadcasting with following settings (the 5 GHz SSID didn't show up in the XBOX wireless list but I'm one of those ignorant trial & error:
- locked on 802.11n and WPA2,
- disabled Multicast Streams in "Advanced/Advanced Network",
- disabled WI-FI protected setup in "Advanced/WI-FI Protected Setup" (maybe unnecessary)
- disabled SPI and TCP & UDP Endpoint Independent i "Advanced/Firewall Settings/Firewall Settings"
In the end it was resolved by the info in solution 5 on the xbox page: The XBOX:es with built in wireless can only use the 2.4 GHz connection, and to be able using 5 GHz broadcast I apparently have to get the "black adapter".
I have a HTPC that I use to feed two XBOX extenders (all are hardwired, through a switch). I was using the onboard Realtek NIC, but having some stuttering issues for live and recorded TV feeds. I installed a new Intel NIC, but cannot get the Xboxs to connect back using that connection. Everything else is working (Internet, NAS drives, etc) with that card, only the Xbox extenders. I did delete the original connection and tried adding back as new, but have since had to revert back to the original NIC.
