View 9 RepliesI recently built a new computer and everything seemed to be fine but won't let me go onto the internet...I'm using an ethernet cable from the computer to the modem/router (a Netgear DGNB2100). The little tray icon next to the clock says I have "Internet access" but Internet Explorer won't load any web pages (it stays on "Website found. Waiting for reply..." or "Waiting for..." etc) and when I search for updates from Windows Updates it would just keep searching give me some error saying there are connection problems.I've tried everything I can find on the internet, like:-using the windows troubleshoot/diagnostics (which comes up with nothing)-made sure it is obtaining IP address and DNS server address automatically-made sure Internet Explorer is not using a proxy-reset the Internet Explorer setting-disable windows firewall-disable and re-enable the connection-power cycle the modem/restart the computer-reset winsock and TCP/IP-uninstall/reinstall drivers (drivers are up to date as well)none of them seem to change anything and maybe other things which I forgot
View 5 Replies View RelatedI can't remember the last time I connected to the Windows media center on my Xbox 360 but I know recently I have tried to run a game server on the PC that the media center runs on. I was trying to do this by setting up a static IP. Here is the thread I posted to ask questions about it. I also used Hamachi to do the same thing. It basicly creates another netowork for you to connect to other people on, I guess. When I started using it another network appeared in my network and sharing center.I have tried reseting my modem and router. I've checked my network settings on my PC and my Xbox 360 and they both look like they use to look before I tried to use my PC as a server.

View 1 Replies View Relatedokay so I tried to "REBUILD" my Sony Vaipo laptop (product name vpceh13fx) by reinstalling windows 7. the installation was successful but now it says I do not have any network hard drive available. I go into drive manager all of my drivers for example ethernet controller, network controller, excetera all have yellow (!). also instead of having my wireless icon at the bottom I now have a computer with an ethernet cable over it with a big red X.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAny here ever used a Windows Server 2008 Core installation? Got one running on a VM right now, thought I'd try it. After installing VMWare Tools things really speeded up. Now gave it a static IP, installed Active Directory services (DNS along with it) and everything seems to work. The RAM usage is about the same, but so far it's been much more responsive, and it takes a lot less disk space, it needs just under 3GB for the moment. Any else here have one running, or seen one in a production environment? I don't think they're very common yet.

Sometime later i noticed that the LAN card (Atheros A8151 PCI-E Ethernet Controller) was not working i went into the adapter settings in network control in the control panel and there was no adapter. i checked the device manager and there was no option called NETWORK ADAPTERS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs always, I am trying to install LMS 4.1 on windows server 2008 R2 and after the installation and login to the LMS I find the following:DCRServer is down or may not be completely up. Check if the DCRServer process is running. And after some troubleshooting I found that the LMS is not creating the CMF database and the other databases.
1. I have downloaded the installation file from Cisco website twice, so I do not think it is the file that is corrupted, also it is only evaluation license.
2. I have met all the prerequisites and requirement as in the documentation guides, but maybe there is something still wrong.
Trying to install on Wi 7 32 bit. When starting driver installation I receive an ACCESS DENIED error and the driver does not install.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble installing the wusb100 adapter on a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit machine. I have downloaded the updated files and when I go to install the software, I get to the section that says, "plug in the adapter." At that point, it says it can see the adapter and it sits for 3 minutes trying to complete the install. The I get error 211 which says the adapter is plugged in wrong and to try again. I notice that the adapter is set up with drivers in the Hardward Management area of Windows, however, I cannot access the adapter to set it up. Thoughts? I have also tried to manually install the drivers but they are installed. The trouble is I can't see the adapter.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed windows 7 on my wifes new com and the device couldn't detect any connections using the default drivers (windows called it an nvidia wireless network card). I downloaded the drivers put them on her hd via flash drive and attempted to update the device drivers through the device manager but it says the drivers are already up to date. I uninstalled the device and windows called the device MCF-J415W and when I tried to update the drivers again it said the drivers were not correct. I'm not sure what is going on here and why linksys doesn't just have a .exe driver installer. I've had the same issue with my wife's computer when it had win xp except it didn't have any generic drivers to install. Also I tried selecting the driver from the list of pre-loaded drivers and found one for the exact device but it would not install those either.

Win7 64-bit.RunOnce exists in the registry and I even added everyone/full perms to it to make sure it wasn't a perms issue. (it seems everyone recommends checking this key exists)I've cleaned the system and the registry multiple time for anything AnyConnect related. The installation 'appears' to fail on the installation of the 64-bit virtual adapter

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to stream videos from my PC to my Xbox 360 via the Windows Media Center app. I've got it all set up, my PC detects the 360 just fine and vice-versa. However, when I go into the app on the 360 and select the video to play, it plays it extremely pixelated. Usually it just freezes up on an extremely pixelated frame while the sound of the video continues on as normal. I've tried MP4, MKV, AVI, WMV, etc. all at multiple resolutions all with the same result.I can stream just fine via HBO, Netflix, Amazon, etc. so I don't think it is my network or internet speed. I've tried putting the 360 on a static IP, I've gone through all the FAQ from Microsoft about enabling Windows Services and the like, none of which has made a difference.I am able to stream to my PS3 just fine, so I am not sure what is going on with the 360.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSuccessfully setup X Box connected via DPC3925 WIFI router to to Win 7 Media Center? I am sure I had uPNP enabled and I tried turning off Firewall for home network but no luck!
Adding the extender from Media Center always claims it can't find the X Box (Yes, I did enter the 8 digit key exactly as displayed on TV).
Ive been trying to work this out on XBL forum for a while. all my settings seem to be correct ( UPnP, NAT type: open, no port forwarding or triggering, IP settings on Xbox's are auto).
The two Xbox can play online separately, when either one of them attempts to join the others party it disconnects from Xbox live.
According to the microsoft website, Xbox live only supports the Hardware version 1A and Firmware: 1.00NA.
My router has B1 and 2.00NA. is there a way to downgrade?
I just bought a new television so thought I would finally be able to get to play xbox live in a television away from the router! But of course like always there is is problems....
I'll start off by saying I understand about bridging your pc's wireless connection to the router and the wired connection from the xbox to the pc. I did the same thing last year with my old laptop and it worked fine.
However the problem lies in that my computer isn't recognising the xbox as a network device atal! They are connected using an ethernet cable (and the orange light comes on at port when xbox is turned on) but the only thing showing up in networked connections folder on the pc is the actual internet!
I had read that sometimes an ordinary ethernet cable isn't enough and it must be a cross over cable used to connect the pc and the xbox, so went into the shop today and purchased an adaptor that changes the cable to a cross over... but still nothing is showing up.
My computer is fairly top of the range, windows 7 and uses a netgear usb network card.
My xbox cannot connect to the internet. I'm hardwiring it. It can achieve an IP Adress and a Subnet Mask but... it's Gateway, Primary DNS, and Secondary DNS remains at 0.0.0.0
How can I fix this so that I can connect to Xbox Live?
What should I do cause my xbox360 the black one will Nt connect to the internet
