Nov 23, 2011I accidentally ran a program that's invisible and my friend said in processes under task manager, right click one of the Javaw's and hit End process tree. I did it and restarted my PC. Then, ever since, servers for games have been acting up. For 3 minutes at the most, it goes fine, then disconnects everyone and lets them back on. Its for Minecraft, a java game. Its not the software. I've tried different softwares for the server.

Mar 22, 2011I tried setting up the wireless at my mom's house, and she has the following hardware:Motorola SB4220 Surfboard ModemNetgear RangeMax WPN824 RouterAll computers run Windows, XP or VistaAlso, when I go to Control Panel -> Network Connections, under "Local Area Connection" it says "Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC". I guess that's a driver, but I don't know what that means.The wireless works, but it turns off and on randomly every couple of seconds, so anyone using it has to keep refreshing pages until it catches a signal.Here's something I think might show where the cause is: when I go to Control Panel -> Network Connections, it usually shows "LAN or High Speed Internet", but sometimes it also shows "Internet Gateway", and the following:

Cisco VPN :: 891 / Shutting Down One Tunnel Shuts All Down?
Jul 31, 2012I have several remotes sites connected to "home" with Cisco 891 routers at each remote site."Home" actually consites of two different data center sites, each with a Cisco 3845 router terminating the IPSec tunnels there. One home site provides VOIP phone service, the 2nd home site provides PC Data.Each 891 router has two IPSec over GRE tunnels configured, one tunnel goes to the VOIP home site's 3845 router, the 2nd tunnel goes to the DATA home site's 3945 router.All of my pre-existing 891 routers are still running IOS 12.4(22)YB5, and are working fine.My newest 891 router, purchased recently for a new remote site, shipped with IOS ver 15.0(1)M4, and when I have both tunnels configured similarly to the others, both tunnels come up and everything seems to work fine, but if I disable the VOIP tunnel with the "shutdown" command on the tunnel interface for VOIP, then the data tunnel will not come up at all, with full verbose crypto logging turned on, I never even see an attempt to bring the data tunnel up, and when I issue a "no shut" on the VOIP tunnel, both tunnels come right up. This behavior is not seen on the original 891 routers still running 12.4. I can shutdown the VOIP tunnel and the DATA tunnel will come up, stay up just fine.I really do not need the VOIP tunnel at this new remote site for the immediate future, but would like to keep the configs in place for the future, and also to keep all my 891s configured identically (different ip numbers of course) for consistancy's sake and easy of management.Do I need to install 12.4 on this 891? I'd rather keep the IOS on it that it shipped with.

JMicron PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (My old adapter that broke down after it caused an issue two times where it prevented my laptop from starting, So basically, my network adapters are shutting down after a random period of any intensive work on part of the computer, this includes Photoshop and most games. What happens is the network adapter shuts down. It takes a minute or two for the tab on the bottom right to register that the internet is actually down. Both wired and wireless adapters crash (I'm currently using a USB to Ethernet adapter as well, same problem existed before too) and I'm unable to restart the adapters in device manager. In rare cases, my wireless adapter survives but it usually crashes later on. Sometimes in device manager, the details for the my adapters have Code 10: The device cannot start error.
WNDR4500 - Shutting Down Wired PC Disconnects All Wireless Connections
Oct 30, 2012So I have this Netgear N900 (WNDR4500) wireless router. I have one PC connected via ethernet cable to the router and 4 wireless devices connected wirelessly. As long as the ethernet-connected PC is turned on, the other wireless connections work fine, but as soon as I shut down that PC, the internet connection is lost (although I can still connect to the router via the wireless laptops - router login page - so I know the router's wifi part is working). Why would my PC need to be on? Does the PC handle any of the internet connection for the router?
I hope I don't need to keep my PC running 24/7 so that the other devices can access the internet!

Oct 11, 2012During a firmware update, the router shutdown rebooted, stayed on for about 1 minute and then powered off and never rebooted. 750DB, F9K1103v1. What do I do next?
I was having intermittent internet issues. I was advised by my ISP to update the firmware. I tried via web browser but when I tried clicking on the firmware update link I would lose the page or the page wouldn't load.
I then tried running the cd and installed the bellkin software and got everything working - it asked me to update the firmware to which I readily agreed considering the request from my ISP. Then during the firmware update, my problem took place.
Retried multiple times to restart the router as well as resetting the router.

May 31, 2013I am wondering if anyone has seen this before. We have about 50 AIR-LAP1242AG-E-K9 access points connected to a WLC5508 running 7.4.100.0. These were all being used as autonomous APs previously and were converted when the controller was installed. About 12 of these have a lovely feature where their radio interface goes down at random. The radio is still in enable mode but the opertational status is DOWN. It seems to happen particularly when there has been a power outage and the AP rejoins the controller. All of the other 1242s are fine and never sees this problem. The APs are all on power injectors.
Once the radio is down, the only way I can get the to come back online is by doing the following:
1. Set the radio admin status to "disable" and apply
2. Turn off CDP
3. Reboot the AP Wait until the AP is back online and registered on the controller
4. Enable the radio admin status and CDP.
If I do not remove the CDP setting I cannot bring the radio back to "UP". I know we had previous issues with autonomous 1242 APs that did not like CDP being enabled. Have I perhaps got a bunch that are like that? Despite these having operated as autonomous APs they are AIR-LAP1242 from the factory.

We have disabled broadcast port suppression but, the 2960 is shutting is shutting 2 ports down on the network and this looks like excessive braodcast. How and why would the switch start dropping traffic when the default is don't do anything? It had to be rebooted to get the port active again

Aug 29, 2011I have an RV042 setup for quick vpn access.The remote computer in question is a win 7 64bit. The PC uses McAfee SAAS firewall. This disables the windows firewall.
1. I can connect to the vpn with SAAS disabled and windows firewall enabled.
2. I cannot connect to the vpn with both windows firewall and SAAS disabled.
3. I cannot run SAAS and windows firewall together to check if this would work.
I need to figure out what windows firewall is doing to allow the vpn to connect, and so how do this with windows firewall disabled. I can then leave the windows firewall disabled and enable McAfee SAAS.The message quickvpn provides when it fails to connect is that the remote gateway is not responding. The client logs show that the tunnel had been opened but it was unable to ping.

Apr 26, 2012I have done any and everything just to even open a specific port on my pc and try PortForward's port checker and web based checkers, and I can't get the port or any port to show as open.I am trying to make an IP webcam on my network viewable from the internet.My setup is like this"gigaset 204a" / DSL modem (Ethernet cable goes into internet port on LINKSYS WRTGS wireless router) [code] Disabled I went to LINKSYS port forwarding, the address I am forwarding to is the ip webcam server. I know if the IP changes it won't work, but before thinking of setting up a static ip for the webcam on my network, I need to get it to actually work.Nothing I do will open any ports on my pc. I've tried enabling DMZ. I've even set rules for windows firewall to allow incoming/outgoing connections on the port I want, i've disabled windows firewall. am running on windows 7 ultimate. The problem for my really is as far as I can tell, I can't even open a port to allow connections to my computer from the outside. Of course all my internet games etc work fine and have never had a problem, but I can't seem to manually open a port I want.

Mar 20, 2013I recently bought my daughter a refurshed dell 17" laptop which has Windows 8 home edition on it. She also has another smaller laptop with windows 7 on it, an X-box-360 and a PS3 all connected to this RV042 Business router.
I do not have access to the firmware version of the RV042. I believe it was updated in 2011 or early 2012.
We found out that with the RV042 firewall set to ON, she is UNABLE to hit her college website with the new win 8 computer
She CAN go to the college web site with the smaller win 7 computer when the firewall is off or on.
The win 8 computer will allow google searches, but when you click on any of the links, it will not load.With the win 8 computer, facebook will not load, MSN and Hotmail will not load.
Disable firewall, and most (if not all) items that did not work, magically DO work when the RV042 firewall is disabled for the win 8 laptop.
Having issues with with win 8 home edition and the RV042 firewall enabled? Is there a "simple" cure for this, other than slicking the laptop and putting win 7 on it?

When they install Cisco VPN Client on Windows 8, thay can connect to VPN gateway but unable to access any of internal servers using the same VPN UID password he can access server through W 7
· Is there any VPN client release for Windows 8?
· Any change required on Cisco ASA firewall?
in VPN Gateway they are using ASA Version 7.2(4) (ASA5510)

Apr 4, 2011i am using windows vista on my laptop.i was using zone alarm firewall, but switched it to windows firewall.after switching, my internet was cutoff. i can see that i am connected to my network, but cant get to internet.when i run diagnosis on my laptop, it gives me three options:
my Ethernet driver is having hardware issue.
my wireless driver is having hardware issue.
ip protocol binding is having issue. check ipv4 and ipv6 settings.

Apr 17, 2013I have an unusual issue, for which I can find nothing on the net similar.
Setup:
ASA5505 = > CISCO3524 => Windows 2012 server
ASA is internet edge with ACL / NAT implemented.
We are wanting to implement inbound NATs for this server - 3389. We have many other servers on the internal side of this ASA that we are NATing to. Creating NATs using the same outside IP to another server is fine, no issues. This other test server resides on the same VLAN as the windows 2012 server. All IPv6 is turned off on the W2012 server, and it can web-browse out via the ASA as well. No matter what I do, however I cannot get iinbound NAT, on ANY port to this server working. Internally from another server to this server on any port is fine, i.e. we can RDP to this server without issue, so we know this works - the firewall on this server is turned off too. This is our ONLY w2012 server on the internal side. When we run a wireshark on the server whilst testing the NAT there is no traffic, so its getting blocked somewhere.
The config of the ASA is fairly big to to santize it and remove all customer reference would take a while to make display of this secure difficult.
