View 1 RepliesMy wifi network adapter (Atheros AR5007EG wirelss network adapter) works just fine for about 50 minutes and then it shuts down and disappears as if it's not installed on the computer. To make it work, I have to shut down the computer and turn it on again.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have Vista SP2 and sometimes I can connect to some WiFis, but now I've had this problem to connect already with two different WiFis. First one was a shared WiFi in a residential house. That I solved by exporting and importing the wireless profile from the landlord's computer. This time even this solution failed me. Having imported the wireless profile in my new shared house, it asks for a password and accepts it, but then it says: "can't connect to UPC...". If I click "diagnose the problem" it concludes with "Wireless authentication failed because of a timeout"
Steps taken so far: I have now deleted all pre-existing wireless profiles from this computer -> no change

Old Acer 5315 running Vista Home Basic has Atheros ar5007eg wireless card.Initially got ISP to setup, but failed with comment that Acers Empowering technology maybe interferring.I have updated the driver for wireless, I have uninstalled all components of Empowering Tech. reboot requested new info (key) but still fails to connect, DISPITE telling me its connected. Upon inspection of ISP properties it shows 0 recieved, 498kb sent. All puters previously ran old wireless (3G) modem OK.

I am having long withstanding problem that I couldn't resolved till date. I am using My DELL VOSTRO A860 for more than 3 years.
My Wifi is not starting for any reason, I've installed the driver from your CD, manually downloaded from atheros site and I did all I could do to resolve the problem, but still the problem persists.
All other things are fine but still I am not able to use my wifi.
I have recently bought a Atheros AR922X Wireless Network Adapter and I have had problems with connecting to a 5GHz router. When I connect windows connects fine but the router changes to a 2.4GHz.So Does The Atheros AR922X Wireless Network Adapter Support 5GHz Internet Connections?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Asus M50Vm laptop
Specs are as follows:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
2.26 P8400 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB DDR2 400 MHz RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS Graphics
And of course, the Atheros AR928X Wireless Network Adaptor. It seems that no matter what I do wireless capability cannot be enabled. I tried turning the wireless capability button on and off but to no avail. Then I pressed FN+F2 and it didn't fix it. In both those situations a box which displays the status of the wireless LAN connection comes up, however, it reads "OFF" regardless of me performing the above two "fixes." According to my computer the card is enabled and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device driver but nothing changed.
I cannot stay connected to the internet with my Asus. When I troubleshoot, it says the wifi was not on, turns it on, but I lose connection again and then can't get it back. Brand new. No hardware button.
View 1 Replies View RelatedUp until a couple of days ago, I could connect to a wireless network no problem. Now, it's as if wireless doesn't exist on my netbook.
Computer: Acer Aspire One Model: ZG5 / AOA150
OS: XP, Service Pack 3
WLAN/Driver: Atheros AR5007EG/v7.6.0.224
I've done the Recovery Console and performed the Windows Registry repairs. I've even reformatted the computer, but to no avail at all. And I've done all the basic troubleshooting and surfed forums for way too long and found no solutions.
So this is kind of a last ditch effort. It still connects to the internet via an ethernet cord, so all is not completely lost, but it kind of defeats the purpose of having a netbook without having wireless connectivity.
When I'm home I can get online but it's slow webstar. I used to be able to get online at the local McDonalds with free wi-fi, real fast. Now, the connection list doesn't show the "FREE McDonalds" connection.
I have: Atheros AR5B97 Wireless Network Adapter, Windows 7 on ACER Aspire 7741z-4815. It has been updating until recently, don't know if it's because I haven't been online as often or what.
So, i' m pretty un-satisfied with my WiFi speed so far and i have this laptop which has a wifi adapter ,Atheros AR5B93 Wireless Network Adapter And i' m getting internet from my neighbor above me, and i get in speed test max 2.4MB Download and 0.24MB upload and now i was thinking about a USB Wifi adapter to get more speed and i need some info about these antennas .
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently the wireless internet connection on only one of my laptops is really laggy. By laggy I mean that usually the connection is ok, 20mbps, but like once in a couple of minutes the connection slows down to like 3mb for a minute or so ( Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test) and when it does the connection becomes really slow. This is very annoying when browsing the internet or playing online games, because it causes connection losts, and slows down loading webpages etc. The problem has to do something with my laptop because on my other (wireless) laptops and the wired PC these problems don't occur. The problem also occurs when no other PC is connected to the network. My laptop is an Asus K53SV and my wireless adaptor is an Atheros AR9002WB-1NG Wireless Network Adaptor. My ISP is UPC (The Netherlands).

View 1 Replies View RelatedSometimes I cannot connect to the router after my computer has been to sleep. This has occurred on different routers. I can still see the network, but am told I cannot connect when attempting to connect to it. Restarting/shut down does not solve the problem - I have to restart the router itself, and then my computer will reconnect automatically. Other computers/devices will be unaffected by this and maintain a connection the entire time. Atheros AR5B91 Wireless Network Adapter using Windows 7 Service Pack 1.

I tried turning it on/off couple of times but it didnt work. I'm not sure if is just a timing, but it started when im on a cafe when i plugged in my friend's flash drive then after a while i lost all available wireless networks that time.At first i assumed it's because of virus, so i tried driver reinstall/reformatting/recovery disc but nothing solved the problem.
When I browse the net, i saw this Xirrius Wifi Inspector so i downloaded it with a cable connection then when i used it, it was able to detect the wireless network i have in my house but just for a couple of seconds, and the network disappeared.I tried other drivers, but i didn't work. As i've said earlier it is as if turned off.I've run this diagnostic test from Atheros driver and got this result with my WLAN switched on.While on this screeny, you can see in HP Wireless Assistant that my WLAN & is enabled, but at the same time Windows Mobility Center is indicating that my WLAN is not just turned off but it is like there is nothing there.
AT&T recently came out and replaced our Uverse modem, upon which iPad could connect to the new network, but neither of our laptops. I'm only a little technical with hardware/system issues, so after none of the more obvious troubleshooting issues worked, I started searching for more information and came across this site....great!! Eventually resolved the issue, suspect the wired connection through modem/router did the trick, but also updated the network adapter drivers. This (husband's) laptop was doing fine for a few hours, but then suddenly lost connection -- appeared that the network adapter was disabled. But when I went to enable it, it was gone!! It no longer appears in the Device Manager list at all. (It is/was an Atheros AR5700)

I have also tried using the driver as suggested by many places (including the previous thread), found on the CZ site. No luck. I just tried safe mode and updating to no avail. Though Windows 7 is not kind about letting you install a driver initially. I uninstalled, and plug and play took over so I was forced to do it via update.
