Wireless :: Connect 2wire And D-link Router Wirelessly?
Sep 7, 2012
I have a network that starts with a Linksys wireless router (DSL connected here) then it goes to a Netgear switch (computers connected here) and then a Netgear wireless router for an iMAC to connect to. I can't see the last router or the iMAC on my Win 7 machine? when I map network I get an error message about an incompatible device.
recently tried to connect a Samsung BD-EM57C blu-ray player to my wireless network. I have a D-Link WBR-1310. Have one desktop, Smart tv currently on network --no problems. Blu ray will find my network but cannot connect. "unable to connect enter ip address manually" which I did. Fail. "enter subnet mask" which I did. Fail. "Ip address taken enter different address" Now what?
I have the firmware 2.10NA. In my home we have about 4 laptops and 4 smartphones connecting to this router wirelessly and 3 of the laptops often lose connection for hours. We have tried unplugging the router and plugging it in again and factory reset and also resetting it through the IP address but the connection doesnt come back. Recently it has gone out for about 3 hours now. Also the wireless LED icon on the router constantly blinks is this normal? On the laptops where theres no connection it says limited connectivity. Is it possible that there is too many devices connected to the router or something. or could this be a problem with the laptops and not the router?
i have never managed to work out how to connect wirelessly , step by step to do this? is there any reason why the d link router might be incompatible with this model of laptop?

I recently got a new modem from AT&T. I hooked it up and everything worked fine for a few days. Last night some friends came over with their wireless devices (iphone, ipad) and after a while, the internet got really slow. Then it was unresponsive but it said that we were still connected to the network. So I decided to restart the router. Once it was finished rebooting, we were not even able to connect to the network at all. Even on my computer downstairs I was not able to connect wirelessly. I am connected via ethernet from the router right now on my computer upstairs and that is working fine. I have tried rebooting the router to factory settings, unplugging the modem, rebooting the modem, unplugging the modem, changing the router settings, pretty much every practical solution for simple connectivity issues.

Recently I bought TD-W8151N wireless adsl router, I have one desktop computer that connected to TD-W8151N via ethernet and wirelessly to one laptop, IP Addr: 192.168.1.4, Subnet 255.255.255.0 and Gateway: 192.168.1.1 : desktop (LAN connection IP Addr: 192.168.1.3, Subnet 255.255.255.0 and Gateway: 192.168.1.1 : laptop (wireless connection) but I can't ping each other and also can't access the share folders between them., both computers can access internet. Is there anything I missed the configuration setting of the router? Before I use wireless, I connected this 2 computers using cross-type utp cable, and working good.
I can't connect wirelessly or hardwired. My internet provider is AT&T DSL. My router is a 2Wire 2701HG-B and my antivirus and firewall is McAfee. Attached are the ipconfig/all and Xirrus Wifi.
I purchased a ZyXEL 3205 to serve as a universal repeater in my house, to boost the DSL wireless signal from upstairs to downstairs. I have a 2WIRE router, and my DSL is through AT&T. The wireless works just fine (and we've been connecting multiple devices through it for over a month), but the signal is weak downstairs, so this seemed like a good cheap solution.I found several good sets of instructions on setting up the 3205 as a repeater, so while complex, that was not really a problem.
However, the 3205's status is still marked as "disassociated", which means that it won't connect to the 2WIRE. It can see the signal, and I'm telling it to connect and giving it the correct key. It also broadcasts just fine, since my wireless devices can connect to the 3205 when it is turned on. However, the 3205 refuses to actually connect to the 2WIRE for some reason. Is there a known issue with connecting? I've checked all the obvious things - they're set to be on the same wireless channel, both using the same encryption settings, and there aren't any ip conflicts happening, since the 3205 is set to an unclaimed ip in the same space.

My router is not working wireless. Just stopped working. I hadn't touched anything in the settings. Nothing is picking up it's signal. All the lights are on saying that it SHOULD be working!I checked all the settings and they were as before. I have unplugged it and restarted, I have reset to factory settings and set it back up again but nothing! Works fine on the wire.
I have AT&T 2wire wireless modem. I am working on a friend's computer and his computer detects the modem but won't connect. I have entered the 10 digit number on the router into his laptop and then I tried the homegroup password and still it won't connect.
Currently my network is set up so all machines are on the same workgroup. The server (Server 2008) is also part of this workgroup and has shares set up to only allow access if a client PC is logged in as the same user/password as the server uses.I want to set up a domain on the server so I can install Exchange, but if I do this, will my Workgroup PC's lose access to the server shares?
So our last router (Linksys) quit on us the other day so we got this one. We plug it in and it works most of the time, but the connection drops out periodically. Also, for some reason, I am now unable to connect to Xbox Live using my laptop as a router (plugging the ethernet cable from my xbox to my laptop). Also, when I plag it in, the internet stops working on my laptop and I have to restart it to get it to work again.
I just installed an E1200 router and used the CD to take care of the software work. I Cannot connect to it by WiFi. I still have to use a cable connection.
I have a WRT54G2 router with a desktop wired to it. The desktop is mine and my roommate wirelessly connects with her laptop and has been doing so no problem for about 6 months (ever since we got the router). On Christmas Eve, she was connected, went out, came home and found she'd lost her wireless connection. Now she can't get it back.I can still get online on the desktop.i've power cycled to no avail. What is weird is sometimes she will click on the list of available networks (so she can choose which she wants to connect to) and mine WILL be there, other times it will NOT. If she does happen to catch it at a moment when my network is there, and she tries to connect using the passphrase, it says "Trying to connect" or something to that effect, for like 3 minutes and then nothing happens. Also, not that I would need to, but if I go to "connect to" on my PC (as if I were looking to choose a network to connect to), my network name doesn't always show. It is random. Sometimes it does not even show when I go to "Networks" on my desktop.
Im running a linksys wireless router, WRT54G V6 with firmware 1.02.8. It worked before I moved after I moved I can't connect via wireless. hard line works. i've tried resting to factor, i've tried not using ses, not using custom ssid. I've rest it like 5 times retarted the computers. I've hit the little cisco systems button on the front, this makes it work for a few minutes. When I hit the button it will go out then come back on white, and blink around 1-2 blinks per second, it will do this for maybe 1-2min. then stops and changes back to orange. and i get nothing from it. the WLAN light is on like it's working but I cannot detect it with my desktop or laptop, can i can detect 3 other routers around me. I've tried pretty much everything i know to do, tried flashing it, updating, about the only option i have left is throwing it out the window.
I'm using E4200 with latest 1.0.02 firmware and found I can not connect to VPN with my iPhone4 by WiFi.Googled a bit and found it's a common problem for Cisco routers when wireless devices can not connect to VPN but wired ones connects with no problems.\
I have a linksys WRT54GH wireless router running firmware v1.0.01 build 001.It's setup with DHCP.My desktop computer is connected to the router via cable.I also access the connection using my laptop, via wireless. The problem is that after I start using the desktop (wired connection), I can't connect from the laptop using wireless. It happens every time. I then turn the router off and back on again. After this procedure I can successfully connect from both the desktop (wired) and laptop (wireless).
A couple nights ago, my wireless router (Linksys BEFW11S4 ver4) just stopped letting me connect to the internet. All the lights were still flashing as they should, I could still go to the setup page, I just could not connect to the internet, both through wired and wireless. I could connect straight through the modem though.
So I decided that since the router was probably over a decade old that maybe it was just its time, and I bought a new one (E1000). I connected it, and still could not connect to the internet. I then did some internet searching and found this [URL] and I followed what was mentioned in post 10 (MAC address clone and changing local IP). Now I can connect through the wired connection and I rejoiced thinking I solved it.
Then I checked my laptop and it won't even connect to the router. It sees the router, but when I ask it to connect, it just says it can't. I decided I was too exhausted to try searching and fixing it on my own and if I tried I'd just end up breaking something out of frustration.
I have a WRT160NV2 connected to Internet through cable and wanted to connect it wirelessly to a WRT120N that is far from it in order to expand its signal. Is it possible to do it wirelessly or the only solution is to connect them with cable?
I currently have an E1000 connected to my cable modem in my living room. It provides wireless access to my whole household.
I have a set of computers I want to have set up as a lab on their own router and have a WRT54GS available for me to modify.
The WRT is in the dining room (office) and the cable modem/E1000 are about 45 feet away.
I want to set up the wireless environment on the E1000 as 192.168.1.1-24 and the wired network as 192.168.2.1-24 with the wired network being able to wirelessly connect to the wired so all the machines in the house can see my server and other machines.
I have two E1200 routers, one of which I purchased last night. My table and netbook are only connecting wirelessly at 65Mbps max. These same devices connect to a WRT120N router at 150Mbps though.
I have the settings on the E1200 the same as the WRT120N.
So why is the the E1200 only connecting at 65Mbps then? Changing channels and MTU and beacons has no positive effect.
I need to hook two wireless routers togetner. I want to use the E4200 as the primary and the WRT54GS as a bridge or 2nd access point to the same network. I have the WRT54GS firmware upgraded to the latest dd-WRT firmware with WDS enabled.
I can not get this to work.I have 1 EuroDocsis modem and 2x 1130AG wireless things. How do I manage to get this connected to each other wirelessly? The internet is allready configured at the EuroDocsis modem and I now want to distribute it wirelessly to both 1130AG's. The EuroDocsis is using WPA2 PSK.
I just installed an E3200 to replace my old Linksys. All my Nooks, IPADs, laptops and desktops are connecting wirelessly fine. However, I have 2 Wi Fi Radios that will pick up the network but will not connect and go into a network connect time out. One of the radios also has a hardwired connection and that is working fine. I have checked and double checked the network name, WPA key, etc. Of course I have reset all the radios and reenter new data many times, both manually and auto.
I have a WRT610 and am unable to connect any devices wirelessly. All the lights on the right hand side of the router are on except for the USB connection....what am I doing wrong? The router has worked for about a year flawlessly and last night all wireless connections quit.
I just bought an E3000 router. The Setup that comes in the CD does not support OSX 10.7.2 which is the latest version of the operating system. Is there some way to connect it wirelessly to a MacBook running 10.7.2?
I had the router working fine then last night for some reason it dropped 2-3 (all of them currently on) internet, while online.I can connect wireless just fine to the router but get no internet, when i plugged into the router directly i still go internet, but when i connect the modem directly into the laptop i get internet so it is not the modem. I have tried to reboot the router and modem to no avail.i can access the routers page wirelessly and change stuff but just don't get any internet and the signal strength is excellent.
I just bought a E1000 and connected it to my cable modem. I can connect to the internet with my wired PC and wired Xbox 360 with no problems. For some reason on my wireless laptop I can only connect to the internet by the Guest connection. When I connect to the regular router SSID I get local only access, no internet.
