View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently changed my wireless router settings to accommodate an old computer running Windows XP that did not have the WPA2 security capabilities. I changed the security settings on my Netgear router to WPA and TKIS. I also have several other devices (tablets, readers) and three other computers all running Windows 7. I had no problems with the settings on all but one of the Windows 7 computers. I am absolutely certain that I have entered the security information correctly just as I did on every other device, but this one computer says, "the settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP pavilion p6736f-b. It has wireless capability. It has wireless lan 802.11b/g/n. I know personal it can connect to the internet because I have done it before. Now when i try to connect to the internet it shows that no networks are available. This problems goes away when I use my wireless adapter and it can find my network name fine and I can connect to the internet. I want to be able to use my computer wireless without any usbs since it goes faster and I also use plenty of usb so I dont have the ability to always use a usb for my wireless adapter. I think the problem might be connected to me connecting my xbox 360 manually setting the ip address default gateway etc.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a wireless network. For some reason my computer seemed to change regarding the settings, and I can't figure out what to do. Usually I can figure things out when the settings go wrong. I have a broadband connection, where it seems to want me to enter a phone number; I have a "LAN or High Speed" connection. Normally I click "Create New Connection", but it doesn't work.
View 5 Replies View Relatedmy home network is of 2 wired computers and one wireless computer (this one) whats strange is that even though i have internet access, I am unable to see any of the shared folders on the wired computers even though the wired computers can see each others shared folders and the shared folders on the wireless one.what im trying to do is connect to a printer, the wireless one preferably, but i can settle for the one thats directly connected to one of the wired computers if i could. i think this strange network blindness on my side might be part of the problem. this wireless one is a xp, the one with the direct printer is a vista, not sure on the last one, im thinking xp, but if xp doesnt have a 64 bit version, then i would guess 7.

I don't have any problem to connect to internet but when I want to connect to my work via VPN I can connect with only one of them If I want to connect with another computer I have to reset router and then connect. after each reset I can connect to VPN with only the first computer which have connected to the VPN and even if I turn off the first computer and turn router off and on again, still two other computers are unable to connect to VPN until I reset the router then again only the first computer which connects to VPN (no matter which of three PCs) is the only one which can connect to vpn. View 2 Replies View Relatedone of my wireless computers (windows 7 pro) won't connect. I am baffled to the problem.
Router: Asus RT-N12 with latest stable firmware version
2 other laptops will connect with no problem. My phone will connect to it no problem. My 3 other laptops also connect to it with no issues as well. A wired computer will get Internet access to it no problem. This computer (a desktop with a pci wireless card) won't connect to it. The SSID will not show up on the computer unless I manually put in the SSID. Then, it tries to connect, fails, and the SSID goes away. It will connect to the wifi tether on my phone with no issues. My phone has the same security settings, encryption protocols, etc. as my router. It will connect to a neighbor's unprotected wifi without issue as well.
I have just moved apartments and am trying to connect to the internet. The problem is that I can see the network I need to connect to and I am putting in the correct network key but it just won't let me connect to it. There are three other computers using the wireless so it isn't the modem... and my iPhone is working on it. I am wondering if it has something to do with the IP... I do not really understand any computer stuff but I am desperate for this to be fixed because I am in the middle of mid-terms.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo a few months ago I bought a wireless router, and I've been using it just fine with my laptop ever since. however, my father-in-law has a laptop and he can't connect to the router. and the other day I bought a brand new desktop PC, and it can't connect tot he router either.both my FIL's laptop and my new desktop detect the wireless router, then when connecting ask for the passphrase. so i put in the passphrase and hit connect, and it says that it couldn't connect (quite the vague error message).
I tried putting in an incorrect password, and an error message comes up saying that the passphrase is wrong, so I know thats not the problem. Next I dissable all security, and both are able to connect to the router just fine, but not with the WEP pass phrase.I don't understand why they can't connect since I have the proper pass phrase. I also have a nintendo DS and Wii, both of which are able to connect to the wireless router with a passphrase, but not without.
so, if I have no security all 3 comps can connect but not the wii or DS. and if I have the WEP security on, only 1 laptop and the Wii/DS can connect. furthermore, my DS requires a WEP security key to connect.so anyways, what would cause the problem with the laptop/desktop recognizing the wireless router, validating the password but not actually connecting? but being able to connect without any security?
how to re-connect my home wireless signal to my computer. The wireless signal is strong and the other computers in my house will connect with no issues. My computer connected with no problems to my wireless signal at work. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on a Lenovo Idea Pad Win7 PC. The computer was connecting yesterday and then was shut down. The next time I got on, ,it wouldn't connect. I've tried re-establishing the network as a new network, but it says the network already exists. The profile is the same as our other computers and nothing has been changed there. When I disconnect from the wireless signal and ask to re-connect it says that the it is trying to connect, but can't make the connection. I'm looking for any way to re-build the profile so it will connect and work again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my old dell computer cannot connect to wireless internet, so it is connected to a Netgear internet bridge box. The other bridge box is in the basement where it is connect to the modem. I believe the location of the other box is almost directly below were my computer stand (and bridge box) used to be.I recently I moved it to different corner of my house that is about 15 feet further than the previous location. Now the wired internet speed is almost unbearable and inconsistent. The wireless speed is the same, but wired is really bad. I believe it is because the bridge boxes are further away from each other.I've tried unplugging and replugging, resetting, and etc.I would really like to know how I can fix this without moving the computer back since the furniture is in a really nice place and the computer would ruin the look.

I have two other desktops hardwired and two laptops on the wireless that work fine. The two laptops are in the same room as the Clear 'modem/router', while the Win7 box is not, if that matters. The Win7 box worked in that location when I was on the cable and had a separate wireless router. The box that will not connect, does show that the wireless connection is availableand the adapter shows to be working properly in Device Manager.

Yesterday, out of the blue, my laptop stopped connecting to my home wireless signal. It detects the signal, but when I click on it to connect (something I shouldn't have to do, as it is configured to connect automatically), I get a message saying that it couldn't connect and suggests that the signal strength is low.I know that the signal strength is fine as I am connected just fine on my work computer.I can plug my laptop into the router using a cable and it connects just fine that way, so the only problem is with the wireless signal. I have restarted the computer, modem, and router, to no avail.

It tells me the SSID etc but when I connect to it, it becomes an unidentified network and has no internet connectivity. Also my laptop can connect to other wireless networks, ie my schools public network, and they work fine. I'm running windows 7 home premium.
